I love that song but it amkes me cry thinking of victor, one foot was one the the best things on tv. I can watch it over and over and it still makes me howl with laughter @@carlhartwell7978
Watching this programme seeing Victor Meldrew constantly moan & be grumpy it's like looking at meself lmao. I often get called Victor Meldrew which tbh I take as compliment
Maybe she knows Victor's ghost is there and she has attempted to talk to him but she can't here anything he says from beyond the grave so just acknowledges these ghostly things without reacting knowing there's no point talking to Victor because she can't see him let alone here him.
Yes. They should have ended the show typically Victor Meldrew complaining about someone on the telephone. " I want to speak to the manager" And be quick about it!
One foot in the grave, always has been & always will be my favourite tv show, ever. David Renwick is a better writer than John Sullivsan in my opinion. It's a masterpiece
@@DoctorVision also, hardly any fan of OFAH is aware that John Sullivan plundered and plagiarised Sooooo much from 'Steptoe and Son' for plots and jokes its ridiculous.
@@drwhotvwam It was plentiful. Sullivan admitted he didn't know there would be such a thing as a VCR eventually.... but then audiences could revisit the Galton and Simpson scripts. Racquet being a stripper when Del meets her is the exact same circumstances when Harold meets Zita .....same film, Albert and Harold find a baby left in the yard they believe may be Jesus.... Sullivan nicked that but changed the thinking his son is Jesus, Rodney is convinced Damien is the Devil....
Oh wow that's really interesting, I'm not overly familiar with steptoe so I'm not aware of the jokes. But I definitely agree that one foot in the graves writing is much tighter
@YOYOKE64 Annette wanted to carry on but Richard and David wanted to stop. I hated that came to an end but better to go out at the top and have people wanting more than to drag it on. But I do miss Victor and Margaret
Yeah. Even in death, Victor Meldrew is, and has always been and will be, grouchy, forever more... Dead or alive, it will never change. Death can't take away his grumps, his complaining, his belly aching.
Maybe Margaret knows Victor is there with her. Maybe she knows he is in the afterlife and is still following her thinking he is alive. Only at the end of the clip does Victor realise he is dead. Remember Victor and Margaret have been together for decades up to his death, they deeply love each other, and one would never abandon the other, so maybe Margaret ignored the ghost Victor, in the same way she ignored him moaning and complaining in real life. Just a thought.
Wait a minute. Is that the ghost of Victor Meldrew? She could not hear him? She was visiting the Uncle Whatever in hospital... alone, at least she thought she was alone? And she couldn't see Victor? Or was it in the past of One Foot In The Grave, before Victor's death? I was just suspecting now why she wasn't paying attention to him. Now it all makes sense. You were right. And you do have an accurate point there which makes sense.
victor referring to what is going to happen on tv being in the papers to boost ratings is a pop at who wants to be a millionaire who announced the first ever winner would be shown on the same evening at the same time of the last ever episode of one foot in the grave, which they had never done before, but deliberately timed it to try and beat the bbc in viewers, which in the end, unfortunately, they did!
I wish they would have ended it it with them both having some good luck. The last ep while good was...... Far to depressing and i am never watching that ep again.
@iwata25 Thats exactly why they killed him off, the writer said that he was running out of ideas, and wanted to end it while the show was still popular
brilliant. - I'm trying to find the one where Victors in hospital, & gets shaved by a loony. - I have in on greast comedy moments/ but its not on the OFITG cd's - was it comic relief?
Oh no! The ending was ruined for me reading stuff below. It stopped playing with 40 seconds to go and now i'm watching it again knowing victor's dead. That'll explain the 'draught ' coming from Margaret's right side as she said.
Surly when Victor picked up the arm and newspaper it would have scared the shite out of Margaret as they were not ghosts? Also the video in the bag changed positions on the tv... I hate continuity errors :)
@@gemini802 He picked up the video in the bag at the end before Margaret walked back in - surely she would have seen the video hovering in midair while he was holding it? Strange, but perhaps it's deliberately ambiguous.
People askng why Margaret didn't freak out about the paper and arm being lifted up...Maybe it's meant to be left ambiguous. Maybe Victor really is there, or maybe he is just a ghost...
+Daniel Ford Maybe Margaret knows Victor is there with her. Maybe she knows he is in the afterlife and is still following her thinking he is alive. She seems really nervous in this comedy relief clip, and several times looks over at Victor, even seeming to answer his question. I think she does know, but is nervous about it, because that's really not supposed to happen.
I never saw this before and am now wondering if a whole series could have been made out of ghost Victor and Margaret. A lot of scope for some interesting concepts.
While the actors are still alive I'd love to see this continued, perhaps with Margaret in a nursing home or even living with Mr Sweeney (they had an almost mother-son bond towards the end of the series), with Victor obviously shouting about some nurse or Mr Sweeney himself.
that was a shock at the end,i had to watch it a second time! but how come margaret does'nt see victor picking up the arm? she should of seen it, and the tape at the end!
was the video supposed to end there? it seemed like a pretty bad ending...the fact they actually bought him back as a ghost makes the fact he was killed off even more sad, because now hes back as a ghost and didn't realize hes dead means he isn't resting at peace. i think they could made the ending to this more emotional and heart felt
@jackntheball There was 2 one from 1993 (which is on here) and this 1 , sadly they never made it to DVD,dont know why,my guess is something to do with the copywrites.maybe one day when the DVDs are re-released they will be on there.
'' All you sinful creatures (poisonous beasts) - children, do not set an example for yourself and turn only sinners (poisonous beasts) into hell! Instead I have to offer sacrifices (sight) to my heavenly-army! Command!
how did Margaret not freak out when the newspaper and arm got lifted up, she would've noticed surely that was creepy and there was a ghost of some sort in the room with her!

@@myfavouritethings3187 She swore she would kill that person if she ever found out who did it. She looked mad (insane) as she spoke. And she had a hateful, obsessive look on her face and in her eyes as she listened to the other woman's explanation. She only showed the woman the proper dose going in and not the lethal dose already there. I recommend their short Comic Relief special (2001?) visiting "Visiting With Uncle Dick" on RU-vid if you haven't already viewed it.
Err yep it did and with great class. Why keep something going on till its shite like "only fools" based on unsatisfied needy people like you who demand always more of something
Andy Pickering Killing someone is a cheap climax. Ending something and keeping the main characters takes a lot more creativity and talent. But art and talent isn’t something you know about Andrew. You look like shit and can’t sing. Bush bye.
Andy Pickering Thanks. When a complete stranger calls someone else a fool, out of the blue, it’s prudent to see what kind of loser one is dealing with. In your case, nothing special, just an out of work delusional loser. You don’t matter and your opinion is worthless. PS, sack your song writer, he/she is sucks big time.
