@@olivermccall3898 Maybe. It really comes down to personal preference as well. I mean I can't hit a two hander in for the life of me while I know a few people who would say the same I know a few people who would say the exact opposite. It just comes down to personal preference, in my opinion.

@@NuclearMagneticResonance I used to play with a two handed backhand because that was what I was taught. But around two years ago, I changed it to one handed and it felt more natural and I also felt like I made much more progress. So in the end, I believe every one has there own more "natural" way of hitting the backhand

@@jimmywu1011 Agreed. I just started playing tennis last year and I was taught the two-handed backhand. It was initially my better shot, but, then I got better with the forehand and I cant seem to find consistency with the two-hander for depth and power. I've always preferred the one-hander in style and tactical ability though and I am able to do some of those. Currently I'm in limbo as to what I will use as my main as I still need to improve. There are certain instances where the two-hander can help me control and get the ball back into play if its a tough shot. But most balls I feel uncomfortable hitting the two hander.

@@29blazehead If you want advice from an amateur player, I suggest that you can work on your backhand slice so that you won't be destroyed in rallies and still have an overall decent game. Then, you can spend more time on discovering which backhand shot works best for you. For me it was the one handed backhand. Once you decided on which one you want to use, you should stick to it, and practice hard to make it reliable.

I agree Jonsi! I LOVE his backhand. He's one of my favorite players.

To me is the best, its kinda of unpredictable to know wheres the ball goes.

@@SawyerQuinn Well said. Even Almagros & Kohlschreibers backhands are better than Tommy Haas & Gaudios backhands. Don't even know about Kuertens one. It's better to do a list from players who have retired, & another one from current players

@@rarti-licious2792 Haas' had an elite-level BH. Don't know if top 5, but at the very least it's one of the cleanest, aesthetically pleasing BHs.

Thiems backhand is powerful but he has too much backswing so it breaks down too easily against top players. Wawrinkas is just amazing

I would actually put Haas' BH as the most aesthetically pleasing. Matter of preference, though.

I agree with your 4 picks. However, if I were ranking them, Wawrinka's would easily rise to the top. It's a spectacular shot and my favorite of anyone's shot in tennis right now.

@@a32tl Same here, it's been my favourite overall shot since I laid eyes on it. Fun fact: GQ Magazine devoted an entire article to waxing poetic about the brawny beauty of Stan's backhand. The article also contrasts the efficient big three and their propensity for racking up Slams with Stan's less prolific but more stylish and distinctive way of getting it done. What an exciting player and a true shotmaker that guy is.

hahahaha Feliciano has a horrible one handed topspin backhand with NO consistency at all, what he has is a very beautiful and good slice backhand, marvellous volley and serve. I am spanish and a Feliciano Fan ....

He's backhand was surely among the bests, but he never had been consistent so he's mostly often forgotten in this story.

Yeah, I don't think Sampras belongs on a list of best 1HBHs. That particular shot by him in the video was outstanding though, and in general his BH wasn't "pathetic"; in his earlier years he had a solid offensive BH and then later changed it into a defensive shot.
