I have been a tennis fan for most of my 62 years. I have seen and greatly admired some legendary players; Laver, Borg, Connors, McEnroe, Becker, Sampras, Nadal & Djokovic. However, IMHO there has never been any human being who picked up a racquet as majestic, graceful, charismatic and as great as Roger Federer. He is, to me, the greatest sportsman who has ever lived. I feel honoured to have lived in the time of Federer.
Yeah, could watch him all day. He won't be remembered as the guy who won the most but he will be remembered as they guy that took our breath away the most...
Federer may not hold the record for the number of slams won etc but he is still the GOAT for one simple reason. He played the game on a different level to everyone else. Enjoy your retirement Sir.
Agreed!! There will never be another Federer!!! Skill with grace, elegance, and savagery when needed. No other tennis player is as enjoyable to watch...waving his magic Wilson wand as they say!!!!!
Why to bring the number of titles in conversation? For you he is the GOAT, that's it.. Nobody in the world will argue that anybody ever played more visually pleasing game on court but we have to respect the Djokovic's mental strength and Nadal's physical abilities as well. For me no one is GOAT, they all have their flair and they excelled at that. Got one up on each other, had some crucial moments, sometimes one handled the pressure better at critical stages than the other. Injuries at wrong time, mental baggage on a particular day can change the debate. Sitting outside and getting into debate is an easy task.
Same about watching, but beein tennis fan since 1980. I remember that crazy tie break in the wimbledon final between Borg and McEnroe, cheering for Borg in front our still black and white TV
I never get bored watching Federer highlights from mid 2000's. What a beast he was. People usually describe him as a shotmaker and natural talent and so on. He was also a magical athlete, strong and fast. I have to put Djoko as the best ever considering everything, but I firmly believe that prime Federer was the best version of a tennis player we have ever seen. His A-game back in the days was out of this world.
A Fed fan . We should respect Joker because after all said and done. He has achieved it on paper. Joker the GOAT FED the BOAT( BEST OF ALL TIME) NADAL is both GOAT AND BOAT but only on clay
@@MrRajesh8897 I do not respect Novak. Just a couple of days ago he suggested he had lost an important match because of a wrist injury .Can you imagine Roger Federer being crass enough to say such a thing ?
Federer will always be my favorite not just for the brilliant talent but his class and character. Always showed respect for officials and opponents. Very gracious and accommodating with the media. I consider myself lucky to have enjoyed his legendary career.
The most beautiful tennis player to ever play the game. Genius, artist and the best in every aspects. He is Roger Federer. He always comes out with magic and miracles. He is the greatest.
The last one against Daveydanko is my all-time favorite. That's called Roger's Liquid Whip. Breathtaking! Next would be at the net against Nadal at the French Open. Electrifying! Thanks for posting. These were great!
the most beautiful to watch and the greatest creator of magical points. As others said he may not have the most slams but his inventiveness and attacking play puts him ahead of the 'other two' in my eyes who built their careers mainly on defence.
In recent times, professional tennis may have produced more efficacious machines, but none more soulful than Federer. Many will be remembered by their numbers, few by their genius. What his poetry makes you feel in awe is unmatched.
I love Nadal and the Joker. But i can burn a thousand calories watching them play, they are so athletic and play so hard every shot. But watching Federer play is literally like watching water run downhill in a smooth flowing calm stream. Enchanting poetry in motion.
He won a lot of his matches by being in utter control, outplaying his opponents and having time left for some magical improvisations. Djokovic and Nadal have the grit and tenacity, but Federer left spectators with jaws wide open.
There are many greats in sports, but certain athletes are a notch above the rest, athletes that define a generation and will continue to inspire long after their careers end. Federer in tennis, Tiger in golf, Messi in football. etc.
this actually shows how dedicated he was in his shot making. 99.5% of all other tennis players would not attempt a shot that goes around the net instead of over it
I have NO IDEA what past good karma the rest of us tennis fans did in our previous lives ….but surely we must all have done something unbelievably good…..how else can one explain that we all got to see Federer, Rafa and Novak all competing against each other in the same window of approx. 15 years….and I am not evening counting Andy and Stan W in the mix. 2005-20 - the Magic Years for all Tennis fans…….bar no other period
Two things (1) it’s easy to forget that the most graceful of players also ran MILES to chase the ball down. Doesn’t matter how great your touch, you still have to WORK (2) it takes two great players to make a great point. Roger only has to play these amazing shots because he is playing against great opponents. The standard of tennis at the top is incredibly high.
when the world still believed he was going to be the greatest ever. well, he still played the most beautiful tennis ever, looked the greatest, was the greatest sportsman, the real poster child.
The master of volleys, the king of foreband, the Lord of tweeners who didn't necessarily need to look in direction of the shot to make it go right One and only.... Roger Federer
But he will be remembered as a man who won the most at one time records were meant to be broken but ladies and gentlemen my Roger will never be forgotten enough said!!!!!!!!🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
there was a time, when federer seemed to have a special contract with the laws of physics, allowing him to do things that no one else can do. pure magic.
it's remarkable that with all the fantastic amazing shots Federer did you still had to include 2 where opponents mis hit the ball and one where it was a simple shot a 10 year old could make as opponent was too far away to hit it. That's 3 moments of brilliance we missed out on.
Do you lack the license to show any Wimbledon highlights or something? That's probably where most of his best shots were. The top one that comes to mind was around 2008 facing set point against Nadal and Roger smoked a perfect backhand passing shot down the line.
A minute in and literally zero of those shots were close to "nobody would believe if not filmed".... Continuing on, and.... hell, I've done most of those when I was a junior tennis player. In fact, if these are so good nobody would believe if not filmed, then you wouldn't believe some of the shots I've made when I was a tennis player...... I was actually expecting some crazier/more impressive shots than these. The shots between the legs, or the spinning forehand early on, yeah, I get those being there, but honestly they're relatively common these days. Trick shots sure, but nothing befitting the title...... I mean, I once hit a shot that hit the tape of the net, rolled almost half of the length of the net across the top of the tape before rolling over the other side and landing in. THAT is the kind of shot nobody would believe if it wasn't filmed. Hell, I DID that and scarcely believe it. Gotta say, a little disappointed that they're just good tennis shots or good tennis in general as opposed to whatever the title made it out to be. That shot at 4mins, my coach literally taught me that shot, but better, landing much closer to the net. So close in fact I hit it against someone who bragged about his ranking in the state and he stood their stunned in disbelief for 3 seconds, before cheating and calling it out as junior tennis you umpire your own side of the court, at least that's how it was in pretty much all tournaments as a junior here. It's difficult, but hardly a shot nobody would believe, especially not someone who's actually played at a high level.
Young Federer would beat current Sinner. Federer would consistently absorb Sinner’s powerful groundstrokes and render them futile with his finesse shots and dynamic play style, discouraging Sinner to the point of learned helplessness that he simply cannot win even with his consistently overpowered shots. Too bad Med wasn’t a Federer. Federer truly is the ‘Greatest Tennis Player Of All Time And History And Always Will Be (aka The “GTPOATAHAAWB”).
Stealing titles and ideas from everyone. Raz Ols already made this exact same title and his video you can actually see the ball so. Also, learn how to spell to "Believe" LOL
