It's great how you're so encouraging to people with small hands. 'A lot of people's hands aren't gonna be big enough to perform this'. It's really up to the individual what they can or cannot do in card flourishing. It's people like you that halt the progress of cardistry, place boundaries where there are none, discourage potential performers. Thanks for teaching, but I don't think a lot of viewers are gonna be enthusiastic about learning.

Wow, thank you, Jarek. I only managed to do this shuffle once and by accident, couldn't believe when it worked. Your tutorials are pure gold and this in particular is platinum... nah, rhodium! Rare and of highest value!

A quick tip for everyone: The process of weaving the packets together (Faro style) is greatly facilitated when you allow your index finger to break the packets directly at the top right corner. Pulling from around the middle with the index finger and weaving in that manner makes it much harder. Try pulling directly from the corner.

the fact that you say it's so hard to do makes me feel really good about myself :)

Awesome, I can *just* do it. I originally learnt by watching derren brown do it, but your tutorial really helped. DB does it differently though, he riffle shuffles then together

this saved my life the other day. I was doing this on trick called out of this world and by the time I finished setting up and told the guy what he had to do was place red cards in one pile and black cards in the other w/o looking at the cards, he said out loud that i set up the cards somehow and asked me to see the cards. while he was telling everyone the card trick I did two of these shuffles quickly and showed him the deck was random, making him look like an idiot, thank god for this shuffle!

Thank you for this. After a couple of days I can do it, but its still slow and have like a 1/5 success rate....but getting better. The one thing I find is its quickly callusing the tip fomr my index finger when its wedged in-between the decks.

Awesome tutorial... Just FYI, I am learning this, and i nearly got it.. I am not as fast or good as you, but I have very small hands, and this is still possible to learn. Especially if you have decent card control. It may be harder, but it's not at all impossible to do this with small hands. Like IE if you are a woman or like me, a guy with small hands.

Thanks! i learnt it in 1 hour tips for everyone, i find it A LOT easier if your thumb is moved down towards your pinky and below the half way line of the pack and then have your index near the top. This way it is alot easier :D

@Taltta89 The longer or larger the hand can perform the action probably easier, but with practice any size hand can perform the action.

Same ploblem here,wondering me till now. And I found out some main tricky part: 1.The BRAND of the poker,do with Bicycle easier than Bee-ESPECIALY the new ones! Cause Bee ones' cards' border would split/be creased,when you used to play/shuffle it (found out the others' sequence yourself,I just hold these two brand poker) 2.INDEX FINGER is the KEY before mix(or you can called it "put") two piles as "range upon range,fold up" -and there are two way to mix two decks' cards up,but characters limit

After you make your initial cut let your index finger nail slide across the half and you will get to both halves in one hand. After you learn it in one hand learn to do in the other then you can do two decks at once, looks really cool.

You don't need to have big hands, you just need to know the feeling of a deck of cards. You know, when I first started out, I dreamt of doing all those amazing cuts and flourishes. Now that I am for about a year in flourishing, I've never even practiced this cut, but I'm still able to do it (not smooth, but still I'm able) even though my hands are pretty small. It's not about the size, it's about practice :)

I find that it helps a whole lot if you bend the deck in half from top to bottom before you begin the trick 😁
@kurii-
@kurii- 11 лет назад
I'm 5'2" with fairly small hands. I can do this pretty well, but with a slight variation since I can't reach my middle finger to support the top of the packet. I, instead, tilt it up so that gravity pushes the packet onto my pinky that's supporting the bottom. The only down side is if you can't get your weave in the first time, because you don't have a finger on top to slide up and down to help push the packets together.

@GamePlayer596
@GamePlayer596 13 лет назад
@superchef78 Then perhaps you could enlighten me, because I can't even get the one handed cut down. Every time I go to push up the second half with my index, my thumb immediately loses the grip on the top packet, and my middle and ring fingers aren't long enough to keep it from toppling over. My thumb isn't long enough to maintain a hold on the pack through any stage of the lifting. As soon as I put any lift on the packet, I can't hold the grip.

Old comment but I'm having the same issue. I have very large hands and I can do a one handed cut just fine but I can NOT figure out how to get the to packets of cards side by side. Even putting the video on quarter speed (.25) I can't get it. Then it dawned on me he's doing it left handed and I'm right. I thought I had picked a video with a right handed person. My search to figure out how to do this continues....

If you have small hands or have trouble doing this shuffle; place your middle finger on top of the packet as it shoots up. Then you are in position for the riffle.
@theschlimmfisch625
@theschlimmfisch625 9 лет назад
the hard part for me is to get the cards to riffle in each other, so i always placed the two card piles on my hand to practice that riffle thing so the piles become one pile. it didnt work so i decided to practice that flip motion that gets the two piles in the position right before the shuffle part. so i tried it the first time not slow but fast and what the heck! i succeeded and the shuffle part began automatically without me doing something. it shocked me so that i fucked the rest up and began to laugh. he mentioned that it is hard to do it slow, so i learned at least to practice this shuffle fast, it works fine for me.

@CopyCat1995
@CopyCat1995 14 лет назад
well, i think this is a good enough tut not to get criticized, the magic community IS quite a small place compared to others( not everyone have an interest, place, or knowledge of stuffs), and an even smaller part of the community knows how to do this( not the cardistry community, the magic one), so he is kinda right about it being hard. i will disagree with him about hand size, my hand barely fit 2 halves of a deck and i'm going fine with my practice
@SomeRandomFellow
@SomeRandomFellow 9 лет назад
Challenge: Take a deck. Riffle off half into your other hand face up (one hand has face up cards and the other hand has facedown). Onehand shuffle both hands simultaneously and bring both hands together and have them both bridge the cards at the same time to restore the deck. That last part probably made no sense lol

@Taltta89 "small as shit" I dunno, buddy, some of my shits are pretty massive! Jokes, I agree completely with your comment. Hand size doesn't mean too much with the one handed shuffle, it's all practice. Also (to the uploader), you may not have ever "seen another human being" doing this, but the comments section of this video, probably consisting of at least some amateurs, including myself, is full of "human beings" who can perform this. I really think you're blowing things out of proportion.
