We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ru-vid.comUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
Same here! Couldn’t get it on the last sale so paid full price (2hp for Dolby atmos) my face watching this video when he said they go on sale twice a month 😵
I am so mindblown how this man’s energy and amount of subscribers don’t make sense! He should easily be in the hundreds of thousands! Thank you for the great videos, i came for info since I just got two minis and am potentially getting a regular HomePod as well. I am now subscribing and liking the videos and thank you for the great content and the introduction to Dr disrespect 🙌🏼
The original HomePod in stereo is incredible. Yesterday I did a back to back comparison of stereo HomePod against my £3k Tanoy speakers playing the same music. To my surprise the HomePods were my preferred choice. The music just sounded more three dimensional and had more bass and presence. So I don’t think the HomePod are at all expensive - they are unbelievably good! I am now wondering if to take out the Tanoy floor speakers and gain some floor space.
The way you explained the difference of the HomePod and Minis is woooow. Something mainstream tech reviewers fail to get the point across to the general audience.
Home Pod Minis (Stereo) 1:07 vs Home Pod 1:47 and again, Home Pod Minis (Stereo) 2:42 vs Home Pod 3:37. Bonus: 11:28. Please watch the whole video, it's worth it!
I love your reactions to the sound. I’ve got two HomePods, and my goodness do they sound amazing!!! They truly were well made. I love your reactions. going to keep watching your videos.
Awesome review. And that ending LOL! I’m new to the HomePod game and so far I’m impressed with my stereo pair of the originals. Planning to add some minis throughout the house when they’re available.
I agree with you , i have my tv in the bedroom mounted on the wall with one home pod in the centre and works beautifully. I bought the original Homepod because of your video of your face reactions for the first time to the Homepod!!! Your videos are great
I have both the Original HomePod and a pair of minis. The only thing I can say is that the minis sounds like Beats. Minis have clarity but the bass doesn’t give you the punch you get on the original. Apple should invest more in the original.
Man I loved the way you were so dedicated to groove along with the music! Epic lol. I still love the older model it’s like comparing sumo with Kevin hart.
Having both in stereo pair I’m hard pressed to say which is better, yes of course the OG pods kills the minis in the bass but the clarity of the minins gets addicting over time. Just my 2 cents..
You mentioned the HomePod is weird if you only have one with ATMOS unless you put it right in the middle, and if you don’t have it wall mounted then it blocks your TV. What about mounting the HomePod in the center right above your tv? There are shelves you can mount to your tv for soundbar s to be mounted above your tv. Would that screw with the sound if you had one HomePod above your tv?
I should hope so for the price difference, same with the new echos versus the Studio. Although great for the size, they’re never going to beat the larger speaker.
@@joan2080 I had to know more as well. If I have my facts right, Disrespect recorded it as parody. Maybe? Certainly reinforces his brand which I think borrows heavily from musician Kavinsky.
Please connect stereo pair HomePod and stereo pair HomePod Mimi together, I’m thinking about buying the minis to go with my HomePods, can you please do a video please🙏🏽
Apple missed the mark not making HomePod minis synced with standard homepods as rear speakers for a more immersive surround sound home theatre. Also the downside of the homepods home theatre is that it doesn’t work with TV directly. It always has to pair with Apple TV.
I think that Apple missed a trick with the minis. I think that a pair would be an ideal match to go with an iMac but I believe it’s a bit of a faff to get all the sound to come out as a default, so it wouldn’t be idiot proof.
The Minis have a certain cohesiveness in the sound being full range drivers. For someone listening to music beyond the bass effects, especially those who listen to acoustic music, would appreciate this. The sound from the larger Pod also sounds more atmospheric (multiple tweeters in differnt directions) which doesn't suit acoustic music listening as much as the focused imaging that the Minis make. Its timbre is also true enough.
After seeing your review I cancelled HomePod (mini - Stereo) and ordered HomePod (original - Stereo).. Thanks a lot for you review. Wishing you a healthy and fun filled year ahead. ~ From India
Great video, Thank you!!! Where do you see the original Homepod on sale for $200? I have 3 of them and would like to add another. I have a tough question that I believe only you can answer, “Can I pair two sets of stero HomePods in the same house/HomeKit?” I have 2 paired up in my loft over my living room in stereo and I would love to have two paired in stereo in my kitchen/family room. I would call apple care but I’m guessing that they won’t know.
My room is apx 150 sq feet and my tv is pointed around 15 feet straight from me and is mounted 4 feet above the ground? Is HomePod a good option, will it cover my whole room? (I am usingApple tv 4k)
After watching your video I bought an additional Homepod which sounds amazing in stereo... :) Note: If you are planning to use homepod stereo as macbook speakers, you can't.
You’ve become one of my fav Tech reviewers (if that’s what you are 🧐🥸) haha but your fun chill vibes are a refreshing change to the category. Too many serious reviewers out here! ima sub!
At the end Apple canceled my order for my two HomePod Minis. Ok. Some problem with the credit card. No problem. I thought, I already have a HomePod. So why not buy the second one? Done. I now have two HomePods paired in stereo mode. They sound good, incredibly good. But my big disappointment is that I can't use them in stereo on my Mac Pro as computer speakers. Only one. You are making a fool of me? Incredible.
@erfon elijah I thought you couldn’t pair HomePods with HomePods mini. If so could you do a video demonstrating further the setup, or just clarifying with a reply? Because I’d love to pair two minis with my two HomePods that was what kept me from not purchasing the minis. Thank you!
You can’t use a HomePod + Mini as a stereo pair. But since both support AirPlay 2, you can stream music to multiple devices at once, just not in “stereo mode”.
The way you place 2 mini HomePod and 1 HomePod is like................showing off your manhood. ANYWAY -------------------> SIZE MATTERS! Anyone who knows physics, HomePod built is pretty solid. Whether you place at the corner or your room or dead centre, the sound will still fill the whole room. With a pair of HomePod, that's the only speaker you will ever need if you prefer not to feel your room with wires and big chunk box speakers. Obviously you can't beat a $20,000 hifi system but for it's size and price, it's great enough for everyday usage. I have a few smart speakers in the market so far, HomePod is a league of it own.
Yeah no. If I understood your review correctly, then the minis have the sound signature of the updated Beats Studio’s and I don’t like it, as they make everything sound like karaoke, precisely because of this lack of bass underbelly. I ordered the Mini’s before watching this review (as I wanted to add an extra one), but I think I’ll just do with the OG
EE - if you had to look into your psychedelic crystal ball, do you think Apple will eventually enable HP mini’s to be set as two rears with two HomePods?
