Greg hikes into the cold winter mountain bush with one item, determined to build a shelter that can help him survive the windy snowstorm and long dark night.
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

@richard13794 No. there are the genuine but so many frauds... I live in the Northern Territory of Australia in the bush . My lifestyle is not city folk. Camping in Monsoon now .Crocidiles sll around me daily life. Greg is just a genuine bloke.

Dear Greg, even if your lighter is empty, you still have a chance for a little flame. Remove the metalpiece from your lighter, and warm it up in your hand for a while.Then press the gas permanently with your left thumb, and ignite with the other hand. Now you can see at minimum a little blue flame, and you can start a fire.Greetings from the Black Forest

Nice truck Greg! That should do it for you. Greg, I think when you are doing these you should bring a few backup items with you, like some food and water backup communications, and a couple of other things. just because you are showing us what to do doesn't mean you have to take a chance on not making it out alive. no need to put yourself through this every time, we will still learn. we are getting older and you never know what can happen when putting yourself through this stuff. we may handle it fine when we were younger but there is many things that can happen when we get older. protect yourself!

A life time of learning must be shared to the young, even if they dont want to learn, or they can have experiance the task master! one thing I like to do is stack firewood on the cold side of the reflector/ 1-2 feet offset.. This both serves as a wind break for it, and dries any wet firewood.
