Corporal, this is perfection! 1ve been alive over 5 decades, and that's the best explanation between the two I've ever heard! Outstanding instructions and material! We'll done Sir!
Wow! Brother corporal Kelly, you’re banging out awesome videos, I’m still watching some of your old videos going back 10 years!! And they’re all great!!, looking forward to the new platform, survival mastery!! Thank you for introducing me to Hardcore Hammers, it’s awesome!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸from Washington state
He is pumping good content! He read my mind after watching the bowline demo... I was going to comment. Please do the bushcraft smzip tie! Here it is, the infamous Arbor knot....
We have had problems with the privacy screen around our parking lot at work. The zip ties facilities use kept getting brittle in the sun a breaking during storms. You introduced me to the arbor knot years ago. I used a #36 bank line and none have failed in 3 years.
I learned the arbor knot as a part of fishing merit badge in Boy Scouts. I never applied it to anything else until I saw my first Corporals Corner video 5 years ago. I smacked myself in the forehead when I saw it used as the “bushcraft zip tie.” It was a true holy 💩 moment. KISS to be sure.
Thank you. You are a specialist one of the best of the best ,your video's are great . Keep on making great entertainment and video's. You are a great teacher
Man truly appreciate your videos watch them a lot, I see you beat the hell out your thumb, hope you are doing better. Keep on teaching me surviving skills.
Mors also taught the Jam Knot being finished off with a half hitch, essentially locking the whole thing down permanently. Dan over at Coalcracker has a video on it, too. Pretty cool trick. Nice video.
Been using the arbor knot since grandpa taught me how to re-line a fishing reel. Which by not so amazing coincidence is called an arbor. Tail was left to loosen enough to clip the old line.
I love the Canadian Jam Knot! I don't only use it in the bush, using it for closing cereal and rice bags with twine and jute, and even for keeping cloth over my sourdough starter jar: the ability to remove the knot quickly and then reuse it is such a useful quality and way more reliable than rubber bands
amazing that the knot had to be put into books, my dad taught me that knot when he had me tie up sticks and abranches from pruning bushes and trees 55 years ago. so when all y'all started in with jam knot or the canadian free speach tier or arbor knot i just knew it as the knots my dad taught me. just saying .... < J
So, the arbor knot looks like a marlin spike hitch with knots on both ends, while the jam knot looks like a bowline with a knot on one end. 🤔 Is that closely accurate? Thanks for the demo.
I have to disagree. I have been longing for him to go back to these instructional style videos for so long instead of the constant "overnighters." I don't mind having some of both sprinkled in, but I've missed these videos and am glad he's back to doing them
But this is the problem for him, he has a very divided audience, some want just overnighters, and some wants more knowledge on things. We should be glad he still bothers to make us videos, and appreciate what he tries to teach us.
Hmmm. As an 85 year old proud Canadian I have to admit I've never heard it called the Canadian Jam Knot. It has always been just a Jam Knot. You could probably make it more permanent by tying in a couple of half hitches, as in Round Turn and Two Half Hitches.
Thank you sir, for all your hard work and the outstanding display of patience. The multiple camera angles for the lessons along with the patience you exercise is greatly appreciated. I know a lot of men nowadays would have already given up , especially considering some of the BS people dish out. If people can't or don't get it with videos like this, they either need serious help or deserve to sleep on the ground without shelter or food . Once again, OUTSTANDING SIR.
I noticed a very valuable phrase you use often: "What's your intent..." and it is wonderful your knowledge to contrast the different intents. Keep it up..awesome !!
Shawn … Excellent explanation and video!!! Very helpful and useful explanation!!! Thanks, my friend!!! God bless you and yours from me and mine!!! Chuck Knight from Atascocita, Texas. 🎣👨🌾🦌
