I bet you have a magnet to pick up stray nails. You definitely work smarter, not harder! I was thinking the side by side too. That is going to be a beautiful fence. Great video
Good Afternoon, Tyler and Callie! New Redman Pasture! The Little Calf’s back foot! Little Bull Calf! Cleaning the Hoof! #2321! Walking fairly good! Tearing down the Old Fence! Pulling the old wire out the ground! Great Video! Great Job done Thank-you!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I bet that was a chore finding all the nails and staples, but it also had to be a good feeling to have it done. Tks for you posts - love down home videos of farm life.
Thanks for caring for your animals and paying attention to them. Nice to see. Good fence removal. Glad you got done what you wanted to do. No a farmers work is never done.
Beautiful land. Thanks for sharing this journey with this fence. I’m sure there is a history there with your grandpa. That being said, what keeps going through my mind as I watch you work, is that you’re a hard working man with a love for your family, animals, and the land. Thanks for sharing, hope you have a great day. 😃
Thanks so much for letting us tag along as you do your fencing. It’s so much fun to watch! Call me crazy but it is! 😂 I applaud your hard work, no one could ever call you lazy. Love your videos! Hope your family is well.
Getting it Done Tyler, that is what this Phase is All about. Love seeing u make things work, and becoming New Additions to the Ranch. Thank u for sharing!
Your new fence will be so much sturdier! Sure was a big job taking down the old one though. You amaze me how youre anke to do those heavy jobs all by yourself👍 Hope the hoof rot clears up fast! I'm glad the Angus bull is still a fairly friendly feller! See you Saturday on the next Farmer Tyler!
Hi from Australia love watching your videos .great land and good looking cattle ,you are a hard working man for sure , I m a farmer my self I know how work is needed to earn a living from the land .Grandpa will be proud of you for sure .blessing
Always enjoy your videos. Hard work and a life of sincere integrity builds strong character and much common sense. Our nation and our planet needs more men and women with similar personal aptitude. Keep the videos coming. Next time my friend. ☝️🙏🙌🇺🇸💪🎯
I believe some farmers installed barbed wire along the bottom of a fence to help keep varmint from entering areas. Country View Acres did that. Maybe that was your Grandpa's goal. Looking forward to seeing the new fence.
This is next to his working corral, not a perimeter fence. You’d see it other places on the farm if that were the case here. Evan has different, burrowing critters in Illinois. It’s more common in the Midwest to build fence like Evan does.
I've seen calves roll under some.... I've also seen where here in Louisiana that cattleman are protected from being sued by having 5 strands of Barb wire.....not sure if true though..
For some reason, I really enjoyed watching you pull out the nails in the boards. My husband asked me why I was pulling nails on a recent project (id asked for help) and he wasn't satisfied with the answer! Thx FTR.
Re: the steer calf’s hoof - You said that you saw an abrasion, and I think I saw some white in the area. Keep an eye out to see if an abscess is brewing - it wouldn’t surprise me in the least. If it happens, a good clean out and antibiotics are in the calf’s future …
So nice to see the dismantling of the fence properly, rolling up the wire and pulling nails. So many times I see some one using a tractor and grapple, or skid steer. I'm pretty sure the previous owner or owners before them used machinery, I find lots of nails and shards of metal. Luckily (knock on wood) I haven't had to treat an animal with one in the hoof. My horse had a deep cut on the ball of her foot ( looked like a happy face ) I have no idea how that happened, I've scoured the field and all around my barn 🤷♀ I have wood posts and Polly wire for fencing, I have a winter paddock with rolled wire fencing but my horse could not get to that area. Another time she had a cut on her hip like she rolled on some thing. We only have 2 acres I've scoured all of them no idea how she gets these cuts.
It seems as though you have fixed, replaced or built just about everything now. It looks so different from when I started watching your videos. Great job Tyler!!
13:45; "we're getting something done" Tyler, appreciate you including me BUT.....I'm not lol. Love your channel, always neat to mingle with your herd and to watch you work, every episode I learn something, ty 🤠
Nice to see you started your new PROJECT can't wait to see you complete the fence im sure its going to be as solid as the bull pen thank you for sharing Tyler have an awesome weekend
The 'best before date' on that fence was quite some time ago. Here is to hoping that hoof rot heals up fast. Fortunately I have never had to deal with hoof rot. With no squeeze that would have been quite the dog and pony show to treat.
Great start to the new fence line!! Yep, the curious lookie lous had to check out your work…I think they approved. Looking forward for the next fence video.
Farmer Tyler, could you set up some type of pulley system to help you lift and hold the feet so you can work on them? A safe 'tie' on the cows leg maybe throw the rope over a bar on the chute and tie off the rope? If done right it could be a game changer. You can than you can use your weight to pull that foot off the ground. Tie it off then voila! ❤
So glad the steer is not real bad. What causes hoof rot? Good to see you starting this project that you've had on your list for awhile. Can't wait to go on this project journey with you. Have a great day.
When they get that mushroom shape around their skin, I've found that most of the time it's an abcess somewhere in the hoof. Whenever there is swelling, antibiotics and steroids or an NSAID should be given.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with all that barbed wire. Those posts were really rotten making it easier to pull out of the ground. I can't believe that old fence was holding cows out/in. I think you should have given that calf a shot of antibiotics as that hoof really looked infected. I hope he gets better.
One of these days you could have a helper on camera, especially for fence demo, like a nephew cousin or brother (in law). Not your typical genre but you will fly through a gruelling all day task and get so much more done and it will be an enjoyable change for everyone.
Once i get your address i will send you something for that tractor your grandfather left ,Youn know the one with the different paint parts????Ive done a few of them, Ive got number 65 under the car port now all old one.
I wonder what the going rate Yuppies would be willing to pay for fence wood with so much "character". It would be more than new wood if you had access to enough Yuppies.
