The original One Man Show was said to have been Johnny Cash's signature scent, wasn't it? Somewhere I'd heard that Elvis Presley swore by Brut as his signature.
I'm glad to see that you've finally gone over Emerald Edition... I've had this one for about a year now... Gotta say that I too didn't like it AT ALL when I first got it. But I think that it's had some time to meld now... And I find myself reaching for it quite often. I love the Original, I also have all of the flankers. For some reason, I can't "make friends" with the Gold Edition... But as for the Oud and Ruby Editions, I find that those have also somehow "toned down" just enough for me to really enjoy. The Oud Edition especially... The dry down reminds A LOT of one of my All Time Favorite fragrances, the original 1965 Avon "Leather". As for the Emerald Edition, even though it has some of the sequential characteristics of fragrances like Tsar and/or Polo Original and Quorum, it's altogether very different! And for some intangible reason, it REALLY works with my personal chemistry. Maybe "waste" about twenty sprays and let it "air up" and meld in the bottle for a few months , then go back to it... By then it'll be early Spring and I bet you'll find it to be a great wear in weather like that. For some reason, the Violet note in it REALLY stands out on my skin... I think that's why I really like it. Cheers to another great review!
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey I agree... I think that's why it turned me off when I first got it. I pumped about twenty sprays out of the bottle (used it as air freshener in the house) and then put it up on the back of the shelf for about six months... It really mellowed out and (to me, anyway) that putrid sweet opening seems to have toned WAY down. Oh... By the way, one that I recently bought that you might really like, is called QAA'ED by the Middle Eastern House of Lattafa. It's a spice-based fougere that sort of reminds me of the old Old Spice Cologne, but without the powder note. I think I paid $25 on eBay. It's been a good one for "everyday". It's in no way sweet, it's also not too overbearing. But the longevity as an "arms length" scent is pretty good. Hey... Thanks for the great entertainment and all of the work you put into your content! Cheers
@@slicksnewonenow I see Qaa'ed mentioned a lot the last 6 months or so. I never expected to see a SoSJ follower mention it. It's been in and out of my cart a few times now. Your recommendation, and specifically who you're recommending it to considering his taste... I think I'll finally pull the trigger then.
I got signature, OMS original and OMS oud edition. I might wear those 3 Fragrances more than the entire rest of my 50+ fragrance collection. I’d love to see a top 5 or 10 list of your favourite scents from this brand.
Elemi is a resin from the Philippines. It is also the prominent base note in Dior's Eau Sauvage Parfum 2017- my signature scent. It tends to add a bit of creaminess to the shaper edges of the other notes. I've tried the oms oud but had to sell it after trying to like it for a full year. However I'd be willing to try the original. Thanks for covering this one.
I’ve been wanting to try the one-man show line for a long time and just never have pulled the trigger until last night. Ordered the original ,ruby edition, emerald edition, and Oud addition! Truly appreciate your in-depth reviews on the Bogart line!
The bottle looks gorgeous, but I'll take your word for the smell I don't like sweet fragrances that much either. And yeah the og one man show is fantastic...
Personally I love the colour and presentation. Would you recommend this to young blokes in their early twenties. I bought a bottle of this as well as polo green, Paco robane, jaguar for men green and that pine cone looking one. So I'm keen to give them all a try.
Good video, man. Was lucky enough to come across a shop that had testers for all the OMS line. Didn't like any of them. The current formulation of the OG is nice... will seek out the vintage which I hear is an animalic beast. Peace
Furyo and Gold are both bangers, for sure. Love them both. Also like Riviera Nights, Witness and Silver Scent Intense. SSI is sweet but "deep" with a great drydown. Bogart slays. My favorite house by far.
I have got the original OMS (2021) and I love it, but the first one I buy is the oud edition. I agree, the original is the best and oud edition is the second, but still awesome. Also I've tried ruby edition and that's not so good as previous both. I haven't tried emerald and expected this one like my favorite Polo Green or Paco Rabanne PH or Jaguar For Men or Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui etc., but they are different. That's why I'm not going to buy green OMS. Thanks for the review!
I have this one. Smells ok. Reminds me of Colgate Plax mouthwash. I have the Original One Man Show but found out there is also a Highly Concentrated version
My nose gets the patchouli, incense, and herbal notes. It's got the same herbal patchouli note as Tom Ford Ford Patchouli Absolu mixed with that elemi resin sweetness. I personally like this fragrance, but I do wish that elemi note was a little more subdued. I'm thinking about layering EE with Tom Ford Patchouli Absolu now that the weather is getting cooler. I might wear 3 or 4 sprays of Patchouli Absolu and maybe 1 spray of EE to bring a little sweetness.
I like the OG one man show. I also have the gold which is very love/ hate for me. Ive worn it going to a club and concert just to be an ass. Lol. OMS is a very clean frag and great. I'm not sure about flankers.
I need to revisit gold one more time before I sell it, it’s been listed for a long time but since it’s so cheap it won’t sell for a while lol the original is where it’s at, fragranceX had 30ml vintage original one man show spray bottles for 7$ and change I got one, it says “85% volume” on the bottle instead of 87% like the current. It’s not the oldest formulation but it’s older than what’s for sale now
I'm the same as you. I only got this because I wanted to complete my OMS line as well, but the original is by far the best. I kinda like Gold and Oud but the others are dumpster fires like you said.
I enjoy the bogarts but not silver scent. Plus they are going up in price used to be 17.00 now 26.00 and 33.00. I want this to be like jaguar green but I doubt it is
I bought gold off a recommendation it smells too floral but I do have the bottle stones I bought gold off a recommendation. It smells too floral but I do have half the bottle still so I have to go through it. It is very best mode. The red sounds good tho may give it a try
I disagree Gold Edition is the very best in the line... sweet barbershop with amazing performance especially in today's watered down safe main stream mens fragrances...
Zelda lol, good one. It looks cheap and unattractive. Even the name "One Man Show"sounds to good to be true. Makes me think that is gonna smell like alcohol.
