Great video! We are both in our 80's and are all about healthy aging. We say that "you don't stop moving when you get old, you get old when you stop moving!" So keep exercising, eat well, and calm the mind to lower stress ... anyone can be young at any age. Keep up your good work.
Young At Any Age - I agree with you 100%. I'm 58 years old and learning how important it is to keep the body moving. I have problems with facial pain and headaches and its more comfortable for me to stay down with my head on a pillow, but I found out that its hard on the rest of my body. I'm making it a point to be more active and achieving at this goal.
Dear Bob and Brad. You guys have helped me a lot to come out of sciatica pain. It used to kill me. I started the stretches you taught and god's grace I literally have no pain at all. Can't thank you guys enough 🙏🙏🙏 forever thankful ❤️
My mother was suffering from this about a couple of years back. She was in immense pain. Was bed ridden for almost a month. I used to watch your videos and apply whatever I could to make her feel better. And yes, it did work. The heat and cold treatment helped her a lot. Today I saw your video in recommendations, so I came to say...Thank you. A lot actually.♥️
Bob and Brad! I can’t thank you two enough, I’ve been dealing with sciatic pain for over a year and nothing helped. My pain is at 1 out of 10 right now and it makes me feel like I can live normally! I’m definitely going to start incorporating these exercises into my daily routine. Glad I found you two keep up the great work!
I got Sciatica from sitting in front of my computer since covid began, for over 8 hours per day. You guys sure have helped me a lot to reduce the occurances. Am in the begging of a diet and have lost 9lbs so far in 22 days, looking to loose another 20lbs in 2 more months. GREAT JOB YOU GUYS !
Yes, these gentlemen are great, proven technique for "trigger finger" in my thumb. Now I am getting Sciatica pain, so I am just beginning to learn these exercises. As far as diet, my husband and I have been on the "Fit for Life" diet for years, with a free meal day once a week as spaghetti is our go to comfort food. It makes sense separating protein from carbs.
Chair dips, hands braced off seat behind me, have helped me alot. It helps me alot to use the legs to varying degrees to assist with weight distribution. I eventually add a "duck wiggle" in-between reps, while static... I'm just arching my back in low stance, bracing my back and shoulders against my hands behind me on the chair cushion and wiggle my posterior. Your thumbnail reminded me of a laydown version of this. I also have been trying hanging lately and was glad to see this on your channel... you can find videos of dudes in their 70s still able to hang and do amazing movements, and are in incredible shape. Keep it up!
Baby steps for those of you who are in a real pickle. Start with the mildest stuff first. In my 4th week of PT, my therapist showed me a new maneuver to stop the darn tingling, but then the pain moved from the usual spot to a new area which hurt just as badly. One fix can REVEAL another issue. So you're not really getting worse, but rather you are revealing issues you weren't aware of. Kind of like debugging code. One fix opens the door to another issue that was there the whole time. I'm an attention-seeker so would appreciate any likes. 😋
Thanks, Bob and Brad! I recently found your website and videos and so I have been watching your videos for the past 2 months because I have sciatica and leg pain. I was diagnosed with sciatica many years ago and recently after years of little to no pain, it has returned. Last week I started following the exercises and the pain in my leg seems to be improving. I really appreciate all the informative videos and suggestions on diet, exercises and other advice. I also appreciate the humor you bring to your programs as well. keep up the good work!
Great videos guys !! The relief I felt after following your advice is so very welcome. Spent a small fortune on Chiro that brought little to no results. Thanks again. Stay safe and well folks !
I get sciatica every winter when my walking a mile & a half out doors stops for any length of time. I’m 78 & don’t like going out in the cold . So I do some of your exercises & walk at the mall & it goes away. Sitting more in the winter always causes it to flair up. Mine usually doesn’t go down my leg it starts in my buttocks. It always comes on in winter & goes away once I get moving more. If I don’t get moving it goes down my leg. Thanks guys you 2 are the best!!
Bob and Brad are magic for me. I had a fall and subsequently my mid back cage was aching like crazy. I followed B @ Bs advice. My back is not fully fixed yet, but is certainly getting relief.
Thanks to you guys I started sleeping with a pillow under my pelvis (face down). Things improved a lot and got even better after a few of these exercices ! Thank you !!!
These guys are part of what makes RU-vid great. Sharing knowledge with people who need real help. And for free! I’ve gotta link up my PayPal and send em some $$
I have watched tons of your videos, no matter what I do I can’t find relief for what’s going on in my sciatic. Either the stretches are too hard to do or they simply provide not much release of pain. I’ve been in constant pain for multiple weeks with no avail. I went to the doctors and they have me doing most of the stretches I see you guys do. You have many more than they have me do. Wish I could get some relief
I had severe pain for 5 weeks, 3 trips to emergency room, 3 shots and prescriptions and no relief. My doctor finally prescribed Gabapentin, 45 minutes later the pain started to get better. 2 hours later the pain was completely Gone.
Hello Guys; I just tried your pillow exercise and IT WORKS!! This pain has been driving me NUTS for years; lately its gotten REAL Bad! Being a recovering alcoholic i have a real oversion to taking pain killer pills (No more addictions please!) and this REALLY WORKED!! Thank you; Francis- born 1962
After decades with sciatica to and fro, I thought I knew it all, and how to manage it and any good habits and all that - but boy, I did learn more than I knew before. Thanks a lot, to awesome Bob and Brad! This video is so great, don't miss to watch it to the end and do come back often! I know I will!
On the very last exercise you did when I bend my right leg up behind that knee it really screams but my back felt like it did relax more it was my first time I’m looking forward to do it again.
That last exercise is wonderful for the release of my sciatic pain after a failed spinal surgery, degenerative disc disease, slipped & ruptured disc L4/S1 -L3-L5 compromised. Treatment very different here in the U.K. no chiropractor on our free NHS (healthcare we pay for in taxes)
Healthcare in the United States is overrated, unless you're wealthy. The "greatest country in the world" don't take care of their own taxpayers without robbing them blind.
lil jack russell Thank you for explaining, many a times I’ve wished to have come to America for treatment. Australia seem to be far more advanced in their spinal surgeries if you’re interested watch a few programmes on YT or tv of theirs. Incredible surgeons.
Loved the video, but I have had torn rotator cuff surgery and during this time, i have gotten from hip to knee dern sciatica. :< ( So, how do I relieve this pain? Can't use arm/shoulder much yet. Any ideas?
After follow your all video about sciatica my leg pain almost 75% gone but numbness is still here ...would you give me some suggestions .what should I do?
I was immobile in pain most of the weekend I finally could walk Sunday evening. But this HELPED a lot more. I can't lift myself and the 2 chairs I have are no good for that exercise. I could only do the laying down exercises. 🙏 I was over zealous with my physical activity Thursday morning. I was so happy I felt hood and that week received great news from work I was tryingto stretchand jumparound. But I hurt myself. I was in so much pain I couldn't remove the foam cushion topper on my bed. The only reason I put it on my bed very recently was because I have no place to store it (it was helpful before I got my new bed) I'm definitely going to remove it before I go to bed tonight, I think it may have contributed to the delay in feeling better. My new bed is great on its own. Thank goodness for you 2. 🙂 Donna in San Antonio Texas
Question on laying flat and rolling your legs to the side. I've read where swimming (forward crawl) can cause back problems due to the twisting motion on the back. How does that differ from the twisting motion in the exercise you recommend? I'm wanting to know because swimming has made my arm pain disappear, but hopefully, it hasn't contributed to back pain.
Yes, the percussion guns are amazing for all sorts of ailments! Just make sure you use them correctly for each issue. You can find out how here: www.bobandbrad.com/health-programs/self-massage-program
I started taking the medication I bought from Dr igho channel on RU-vid and surprisingly it was working gradually and in 9days everything stopped. My heart been filled with joy since you helped me Eradicate Sciatica Completely and I pray God strengthens you Dr igho!
Thank you bob and brad. I enjoy watching your videos. I have a very bad back and knee problems. I had meniscus knee surgery about 6 or 7 years ago. I’m still having problems with it. Is there anything I can do to make my knee stronger? For my back I think I have something called sponde something. Forgot the whole name. I’m sorry for my spelling. Thank you joanne
Dear Joanne - just happened to see your question. Maybe you are not aware that by law medical professionals are forbidden to give one-to-one help, if they don't have contact with the patient individually in real life? So Bob and Brad make these informative videos for anyone who looks for the general information - and I who have no medical affiliation can just encourage you to keep browsing their videos. Do search for pain relief and strengthening exercises among them. I am so very thankful for the tips they give. Take baby-steps and be very cautious, but I feel sure you'll find what you need, for they have lots about backs and knees ... and every other part of an aching or weak body. Best wishes.
I think I have Sciatic, it happens on my left butt cheek when I walk continuously for 5 or 6 kilometers? Normally it goes away with more walking and lengthening my leg, or stretching? Is that normal or something else?
I'm having a hard time discerning if my symptoms are increasing or decreasing during these exercises. Mostly I feel a slight tingling in my foot and glutes after prolonged sitting. I no longer have back pain after seeing a PT but the leg issues still linger, which seems to be the opposite of the progression you'd expect. How can I determine which activities to use if they don't seem to worsen or better the symptoms?
Since you've tried several and you're having trouble deciphering which work for you, try just one at the time. Use the same one several times in one day. If it helps, continue it. Repeat it the next day, the earlier part of your day, adding another later in the day. As long as you're getting help, continue repeating and adding. Or find just one that helps. It's not important that you do all of these, but rather finding the one(s) that give(s) you relief. Then hone in on the one(s) that give you "the most relief." It's about customization. If none of these seem to work, you mai have more of a problem than just sciatica issues.

Today is day one of self diagnosed sciatica. I blame myself for not doing my physical therapy exercises for my spondylosis. I'm hoping for some relief till I can be seen at urgent care.
After doing pressups pain seems to be going up in ahe lumber region n seems stuck dere n its not going away guys wat do u think i shud do to make it go away ??
Hi, i have a question, what can i do, to safely get jacked? I shouldnt lift heavy weights because i have a hemivertabrae and sometimes some pain, but overall it doesnt hurt, and id like to get big muscles on the whole body, while still young, so muscles could do most of the work and protect me from troubles for as long as possible...thank you upfront :D
Check out Jeremy Ethier on RU-vid. He seems to have good, safe exercise techniques for gaining muscle and bases them on research. Above all else, if it hurts, don't do it!
When I stand up or lay down the pain gets worse. When I sit in a chair..it's not so bad but the pain is constantly there. I've also been getting some twitching on my left leg on top. Femur bone area
Pretty sure during lockdown a lot of people not moving around... Best exercise I got was to go walking and get movement back into the hip/pelvic area, as well as these kinds of stretches/movements.
Hello Gentlemen - My problem is bilateral with pain running down both hamstrings and occasionally into my calfs. Another complication is neuropathy in my feet. What kind of evaluation for these symptom can you offer? Thanks for any advice as how to address these issues.
