I appreciate a review 1 month later. It's actually refreshing to see. People don't even spend 3 days with a palette before throwing a review up these days.
Exactly! We all know how our perceptions change as we explore a new palette. To me, the main benefit to me, from beauty youtube, is thorough reviews so I don't waste money. A "first impressions" or 3 day try-on video just is not enough info.
@montananerd8244 I don't mind a first impression video and maybe a get ready with me or something featuring the palette while it's still hot but even when people do follow up a month later its with like 20-50 other products and it's typically like... it's so pretty! It's all so pretty! I miss more thorough palette reviews like this.
First impressions. I think those are fine as long as they give us a follow-up video giving us an update. A month later I’m enjoying my palette so I’m looking for more ideas for looks.
I miss these types of videos also. Instead of 10 palette releases every week, we used to see one palette in multiple videos for one channel. They’re fun and helpful.
A month 🤯 wowie time is crazy I feel like it was released yesterday….I really love the looks you have created with this palette. I have hazel eyes and I feel like these shades make my eyes pop and I love it 🥰
I want this palette so badly, but I promised myself I wouldn’t buy it until I lost 20 lbs. I’m down 15 as of today, so hopefully I’ll be ordering this soon.
Quality of this video is 10/10 with all the different looks and the comparisons of other Natasha Denona palettes. And I also love the diamond bomb 😌 I think this palette looks like the subculture palette from ABH, which I love (the color story)
This is an incredible review and breakdown. thank you so much. Also, fun fact I read about a few years ago, as I have a "thing" for words that the english language is missing. Komorebi is a ( i believe, Japanese) word for that filtered , dappled sunbeam lighting effect through the trees. English doesn't have a single word for it though and I just love that word so much !!
Actually I wear green eyeshadow every single week. I have totally different coloring than you (I'm dark haired and dark eyed but with medium light, pinkish and freckled skin). I can't wear the colors you wear, like pinks, at all. They make me look like an albino white rabbit! I look best in greens, blues, and grays.
Loved all your looks! You do the most beautiful but simple look and I love them everytime! I get a lot of inspo from you! I love that you don’t try to make the look “perfect” I love the blown out “messy” look 😍
Yucca is a bruise simulator for us cool toned fishes, those yellow tones are not all flattering. Nice for those who can make it work, but not really that neutral.
Such an amazing comprehensive review and video, Lauren! I love the looks you did, as always. And those swatches and comparisons were so good - definitely helping me make a decision. I may have to get this one, hehe. 😋
I really enjoyed this video Lauren! I loved what you came up with ...with this palette!! I have to say I have watched alot of reviews on this palette and hands down you win this one!!! 💚💛🧡
I🩷the look of a halo 😇 👁️ eye but can never make it look right on myself. Perhaps I’m not used to the look but the inner corner lid matte is rough to get right. Idw blow it out too far, yet I want it to show, yet I want enough room in the center lid for the shimmer. I should practice it again. That && a two toned crease which I absolutely loooove when Heather Austin does I can’t get right.
I love this Color story, it’s not as green as I like my ‘green palettes’ to be but it’s very pretty. All the looks you did made me realize THIS is the palette / quality we all wished Subculture was gonna be… it really give me the vibe of that palette without being a dupe.
What a fun video. Your version had the most similar shades. Side by side, your version verses ND Yucca! Though I would of used a better name. Who wants a palette name "Yucca"! 😂😂 lots of love from me to you.
I like yours better personally!! ❤❤❤ great video as always. Love how long your videos are because I can clean my whole kitchen for one video, then click another and clean another area!
Love that many of the shade names are real plants (with these type of spice colors) that grow in the deserts of the Americas/Turtle Island (indig name)...Im not native or latino, just a person raised & rooted on the prairie desert and I am having a surprisingly emotional reaction. Lol representation matters, we here get forgotten easily, and it feels great to see y'all learning a little bit about our landscape. it's just a nice reminder that even a little bit of thoughfulness can lift someone else up.
Dang I wasn’t planning on buying another palette but damn this whole colour story is speaking to me. I was just watching this video to have you keep me company but damn you sold me!
I’m so in love with the approach you showcased the palette. Such wearable looks and an ocean of creativity there. Thank you for being incredibly inspirational!
1) Looo❤ooove a duped palette!! Do you ever use mixing medium? Id love to see your custom shades, in my youtube lineup, you are the Queen of beautiful pigments & stunning reflective finishes; 2) i use so much green eyeshadow!!! At least one green look everyweek, in fact. The shades from this palette that i genuinely want are these mucky greens. Ive got nearly a perfect green collection, still hunting for a top quality matte light olive, and a medium would be nice too. But def a valid point, I'm that way with blues, i only need basics.
Lauren, you did an incredible job on the dupes, on the looks and on giving me the inspiration I needed to try more ways to use this palette. ND has beautiful shadows and your video highlighted them beautifully. ♥️
It looks to me like this palette has like, 2 greens. Grungy shimmers and mustard mattes are just not green to me. Neither is highlighter yellow. Maybe it's just me, though.
I definitely love this style of long in depth review. I don't buy palettes right away. I have to watch the reviews and then they need to be on sale. I usually get quite a few around the holidays. Need this for every ND, ABH and big Huda palette now. 😂 All the looks, swatches, comparisons are very helpful! ❤
Can I request that you dupe the ND Golden palette with ND shadows? I feel like that can now be more successfully done with Metropolis and Yucca even. Might need to pull from others as well, but I feel like it’s more doable now.
Oh I like green alright. For me it just looks a tad bit too yellow or mustard. The other complaint I have is maybe Willow is a bit too blue based, it definitely looks jarring next to the rest of the greens.
Awesome video!! I appreciate this more comprehensive video including tutorials on how to use the palette in a more conservative approach. The looks were beautiful and I am inspired to use my palette!!! 😀
I love look 2. I'm living for a light / bright orange eye lately. I hated cor de rosa by sigma but I realized that the shades I did like are in the Fiery palette. I ordered it, Spicy and Angela Bright's palette along with their lip balm / mask that I repurchased. Natasha didnt go green enough for me with this palette. I needed a lime green shimmer or matte. This palette makes me miss the Tribe palette by Juvia's Place.
Oooh love the color you picked! I have something a little similar in my Mandalorian palette I've been wanting to try and use. This gave me something to follow with it for a good #OfficeMakeupLook ❤❤❤
I hope she comes out with a mini on this one! Too much green for me for the full-sized palette, but I would love to get just a couple shades in this realm!
This was so useful and entertaining to see. I have light brown eyes and those cool greens suit me a lot, but I never know what to do to mix it up. I'm far from being able to afford ND now but I got a lot of inspiration regardless. You should do a 1 month later series !
subscribed because of this, one whole year after it was made! (been watching some content for a while, but really feels subs need to earn it with consistently helpful things. this was such an original video to me. comparisons of palettes, a dupe, and 5 looks! A video like this would actually make me purchase products because I'm shown tutorials through the versatility.
THIS colour story is what I'd have called the Retro Palette. I'm getting major 1970s vibes!... (I'd have called the Retro Palette the Florid Palette). 😎✌🏼
Very comprehensive review…I do wonder how it would work with my neutral undertones but…I HAVE been thinking about getting a green palette…and ND is my favorite eyeshadow formula…so…💸
💚🙏🏼💚🙏🏼💚🙏🏼💚MG....!!!! Ohh seeing it against the metropolis really got the nogging going. Your swatches had me DROOLING but then I was like wait...do I even use the yellow mattes that I loved in the swatches from my metropolis or even my Menagerie Killer Purr? Saved me from breaking my nobuy!
I don't mind some of the shimmers and the greens, and I especially like Willow. But the mustardy, babypoop yellow-browns are just not my thing. I like your way of sampling and creating with these larger palettes. and the comparisons with other palettes - I don't think anyone else on YT is doing this. Nice!
You know what comes close is elf’s Earth and Ocean plus profusions citrine, chocolates, & natural palettes. Maybe a shade or 2 from urban decay’s naked honey & shades. However, I believe once on the eyes, it’s so freaking close. I think at this point in time we all have the same shades over and over just in different formulas but the profusion blitz shade is really close to one of Natasha de Nona’s shades and the profusion ethereal & harvest palettes havre very similar shades.
Remember that Mac single holiday shadow (in the red pot) called “Right Before Your Eyes”? That shadow would fit with the Yucca palette. It’s slightly less gold than the yucca palette shimmers. I’d love to see you pull out that Mac single again! And…. Back in the day when you did use it, so you remember what other shadows you’d wear with it? Did you wear it with greens like the yucca palette? With browns? With mauves? I’d love to hear how you used to wear it and how you’d wear it now.
Your palette is way better and me being a richer skinned QUEEN, I feel like I can use this if I wanted to and not pull out the mixing medium or gloss…. Natasha’s colors don’t give the twirls I want when I’m blending
I think Natasha Denona made this palette just for you!! All the greens and golds, with the pop of bright lime....isn't it all your favourite colours!!!????
I did not think your yellow look with Camu Camu was boring! I liked how simple and fun it was. I don’t always have the time or energy to use several different shadows, so I liked seeing that look!
I have more green-themed palettes than I do more natural ones! I'm a sucker for matching my makeup to my hair, although having said that, I recently bought a brown about-face liquid eyeshadow and I'm in *love* 😆 You've also turned me on to a pop of bright yellow in the inner corner- I have your Oden's Eye palette and the entire colour story is a perfect match for me- the greens and blues match my hair, the neutrals are great for work meetings and that yellow is an absolute dream! I've decided that next time I get my hair done at the salon, I'm going to get a big chunk of bright yellow underneath :-D
This is my perfect color story (I have super yellow undertones) and the shimmers are the formula I was hoping to get from the metropolis but never did... only thing is a couple shades look the same on the eye even though they look different swatched.
I want the shimmers of this palette. Those acidic green really put me off since they’ll look horrible on me. I wish they had gone for more forest greens. Btw it’s already on sale, I don’t think it sold as well as expected.
I knew I needed this palette right away and can 100% blame/thank you because of it. You sparked my love of Natasha a while ago and then I have fallen in love with the chartreuse/grungy lime color story and it’s absolutely because of how hard I fell in love with Electric Kelp in your SeaTalk palette. I used that freaking shade so much that I’ve bought others like it out of fear of running out. It’s been my go to summer color. So long story long, I love finally seeing your review but I feel like I already what your thoughts would be on some level 😏
Maybe it’s your camera but I only see one color that’s actually green. IMO if there’s a fraction of a percent of green in a shade… it does not mean it’s a green shade. This is a orange, gold and yellow palette with one green shade in it. It’s misleading at the very least.
I love this video! You are so creative and talented. I use your affiliate code for all my ND purchases. I hope you will do a video for the new I Need A Nude Palette. Would love love to see your creative spin on it. Love 💗
I’m at 26:58 and I wanted to suggest using ur fingers with that chartreuse shade and laying it all over ur lid to intensify the color it works amazing and will give u so much pigment!
I wish there were a few more shimmers in this. Considering it as i think it would work and mix nicely with the colours in metropolis and next to the gold palette...
I really loved the mascara in your first look!! I never thought about adding mascara only to the outside of the bottom lashes. It was like a mascara wing. Your dupe palette was amazingly close. Beautiful looks and you really showed how to get different looks from this palette!! 😍❤️
