One month with a NEWBORN // Hospital trips and why we needed a break! 

Awwwww .... my daughter gave birth to a baby boy yesterday , so much excitment

How are Rupert and Poppy doing now? I had 3 children in 4 years. 1 daughter & a set of Irish twins (boys). I was basically a single parent for 10 years. My husband traveled around the world for his job. It was insanity on steroids....lol Luckily we survived. They are now 22, 19 and 18. Time truly goes by very quickly. We always host Christmas at our home. Sadly next Christmas our daughter Kristeria, our oldest, will be in Japan working on her Master's degree in Japanese. While I am excited for her I am terrified because she will be so far from home (United States) 6,300 miles. That is a 13-hour flight. So enjoy this stage because they grow up in a blink of an eye. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

So sorry about the sickness, we r all sick at the moment. I work at a little kids Themepark keep picking up things not fun. We were supposed to have a early Christmas with dads side of the family they have covid so that’s not happening. Hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year and hope they r all feeling better soon. 🥰🎄

You need to get your littles a jELLYCAT each. They are the best snuggles your kiddos will have. Jamie you can even get yourself a new panda to sleep with. It’s so hard when your little ones are not well. You both are doing a great job.

I'm glad you are a bit back to your daily routine, yes two small ones are a hand full. A lot of children get the rs virus overhere too. Hopefully Poppie and Rupert are all better now and that youbare all looking forward to Chrisrmas. I hope your Elf is not so naughty. God Love You both for The Worry of Poppy & not being able to be there for Rupert too. A Mommy's job is ALWAYS rough at times like that but your LOVE pulls you through. How fortunate you are to have The Medical System you have in England. Our Son in law is from England & we WISHED The U.S.A. would learn from England on Your Medical System. When I had my 3rd baby my little 18 month old at home contacted The Chicken Pox as I delivered our 3rd baby & I can TOTALLY empathize with you wanting to be split in half to be with BOTH. A newborn baby & an 18 month old with Chicken Pox waiting for us at home. God Bless your BEAUTIFUL Family & we hope better days ahead for ALL of you. We LOVE your video's.❤❤❤❤

Such a beautiful family you both have created 😊 oh I remember so well when newborns are poorly life just stops. Tricky time of year with all sorts of coughs and colds ! Bless you both. Take good care of each other xx when the children sleep snuggle into bed and rest. Hope it’s not too long till Poppy is over her horrid virus. Freddie my little boy was premature and in and out of hospital with pneumonia twice in his first year. Super scary. So glad to hear from you! I've got a brand new granddaughter, and her big sister is 2 years old. My son and daughter in law have a lot of the same issues. Giving the 2 year quality time and caring for a newborn is exhausting. Give yourselves grace. Take lots of naps and enjoy the newborn stages. It passes so quickly. Hi from Concord, NC, USA!

Aw, I’m so sorry to hear this about Poppy! I had my 2nd girl at end of October, and she got RSV at just 3 weeks old. We never had to go to hospital, but definitely had clinic visits and rough nights, etc. The winter season is definitely more rough for a newborn! Hope she continues to improve!

Both of my grandchildren. Have been so sick with cough, cold. RSV. THEN MY NICE HAD A NEW BABY AND A TODDLER 4 years old. Both had Covid. Pink eye. RSV. Parents go through so much. My son has a heart mumur. Sending blessings. I'll be spending a quiet Christmas at home with my son.

Megan, you are an incredible mother! Rupert and Poppy are the fortunate to have you both for parents! When they're old enough, they'll tell you the same thing. So sorry for to hear of all illness that the children have been going through. Congratulations on your family of 4. My girls are 16 months apart and I often travelled 3 hours to visit my parents by myself. If you can tire out Rupert before loading him in the car. Pack lots of snacks, and I had a portable DVD player when they were a bit older. Hope all are healthy through the holidays. Also waited until baby was almost 3 months before travelling

Awww Megan and Jamie! First of all and most importantly glad your all on the mend, and great to hear from you. But on a more serious note (sorry), actually it was great to watch your video, we are both laughing with emotion, because we know exactly where you both are at. (You can only laugh in these situations as you would loose your minds....) Why I say this is we have William (just turned 4), and Oliver (3 months). Oliver was born in August 5 weeks + 2 days early (after a quick M5 trip from Cornwall to Cheltenham after a "gut feel"), back and forth to hospital for long jaundice. He has just come back from Hospital, because he caught covid, only previously 2 weeks ago in hospital for RSV after being bluelighted from the GP. As you said the NHS are great, just the sleeping isn't!!!. The oldest sibling is your weak line of defence... I assume hes at nursery? We are both looking forward to clearing these nasty bugs and looking forward to Christmas... You all take care, laugh with emotion and `enjoy` the roller-coaster - you unfortunately and probably glad you don't know whats around the corner. Merry Christmas. Jon & Nicola 💗

Great to hear an update. Was getting worried if all was well. Hope you had a great Christmas today. Today I realised I had no memory of last Christmas whereas this year was fantastic now Xavier nearly two. Apparently last year he was awful so maybe I blocked it out. Hey guys, just a tiny little suggestion that might be helpful. If the baby is having trouble breathing through her nose (conjestion), you might want to keep the pacifier (dummy) out so if need be, she can use her mouth to breathe. Hope all is well by now and your Xmas is happy and healthy and full of..........sleep! :-)

aw so glad things are ok , you have all been through the mill a bit ! these winters since covid are getting hard for our little ones , our 10 month old granddaughter is on her 3/4 th cold and virus ! Easier days are round the corner , take all the help you can get sending love and hugs xxx

Greetings from Texas! So sorry to hear about your sickness issues with the baby and Rupert. My daughter had croup when she was that small . Many nights I sat in the bathroom with the hot shower steam for her to open up her throat - I am happy to say she is 46 and a mom to three ! It is an exhausting process when that can’t speak of what is wrong. Her big brother survived all of the extra attention she received and is an ER nurse practitioner! He sees plenty of smalls that are sick! He is now a grandpa to my great grandson who was born on August 30 right after Rupert! He adores my son! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 💕🎄💕

Poor Poppy. And Megan. My daughter Jenny (now 35) as a baby was always “spitting” up. It just dribble out of her almost all the time (and yes sometimes via the nose - not much distance between a baby’s throat and nose). She lived in a bib and we always had burp cloths over our shoulders, and anywhere she lay down. It was diagnosed as underdeveloped lower esophageal sphincter. I was told that as she began to sit up on her own and move more, it would strengthen and begin to operate properly… and it did. I learned to have a couple of half waterproof cloths and sheets on the upper end of her cot under her head. When it got wet through the night (from regurgitation) it was easy to pull off the damp stuff to have dry without changing the whole cot.

I know its a lot of work..., but I wish these videos were a little longer..., Anyway, Thank You for sharing Your Beautiful Family with Me....

Prayers for Poppy. Nice hearing about your beautiful family. My 8th baby had bad GERD and just like your daughter had it out of his nose. He was a preemie born 9 weeks early. He stayed in the NICU for 2 months and 2 days. So I know how hard it is being in the hospital. Hugs

I have been in the same hospital situation with my father - 6 days no sleep, nearly no food, @ bedside suctioning and trying to work while there! Crazy town. Glad it’s nearly over for you. Hello Jamie, Meghan, Rupert and Poppy. I remember when Rupert was the same. My daughter did when she was 1year old as she had an allergy to milk and would vomit every time she ate. When I went out I would have to have take a set of clothes for me and several sets for Hayley.

Megan this might be crazy - but maybe Poppy is allergic to something in your house, since when she is in hospital over night she is doing much better after every trip and over night stay

Christmas is at home (with the family at mum & dads) NY will be in sydney (australia) usually we go down 4 hours to Mollymook but with a 6 week old bubba we’re staying put this year …maybe next year

I’m hoping this is obvious, however we change nappies/diapers (in US NICU) before feeding so there is no lifting of hips no matter how far from feeding to prevent reflux.

I had awful contractions after having my second baby. They were so painful, I thought I was having a 3rd 🤦🏼‍♀️ x

Has Poppy got a cleft pallet . as when my niece was born her milk was coming back down her nose . That discovered she had a cleft pallet and now when she gets a cold is very congested

You are doing great under difficult circumstances, things will get better. Just wondering, here in the US they are encouraging the RSV immunizations, was it available in the UK? It is more serious for infants I know. You are such good parents. When children are sick it is so stressful for all parents, I remember those days,=. Winters are hard on kids, lots of germs and viruses around, stay strong.
