So many women in this Lao Market. Women usually out number the men at most markets in Laos, but I have never seen a market with this many women and so few men. This is our One Night in Sekong Laos.

Couple things, you sound very biased against Chinese. I am a caucasian and hard for money so I can enjoy the good things in life. It may not be for everyone but don't criticize the people that want to work hard and get ahead in life honestly. Would you rather people earn money the shady way..............
@NowinLao
@NowinLao 3 года назад
Wtf are you going on about? Just because we want to shop Lao? It's no different than advertising "Made in Australia" on retail items,so people can buy and help their own country. Give one example of me being negative about China. Christ.. I just got jabbed with Sinopharm you fool. Would I have done that if biased!?
@budha7012

@@NowinLao It's one thing to youtube what you do and see at a local area but why bring up Chinese at every turn. Show what the locals have to offer but why constantly bring up Chinese. If you want to shop Lao, shop and show it on your channel. Don't knock Chinese or any other cultures. The program makes it sound like only the Chinese are interested in making money. Every capitalistic person is interested in making money.
@NowinLao
@NowinLao 3 года назад
@@budha7012 Wow you are a very sensitive and paranoid person. Again I ask. Give me one example of where I am knocking the Chinese. Pointing out a hotel is Chinese owned and we would rather stay in guesthouses owned by Lao people is not knocking the Chinese. It is saying we would like the Lao people to prosper from our business.

Most westerners who've never been beyond their own backyard would probably find this video boring. I loved it. I've been all over the world on all the continents except the frozen ones. People often ask me what my favorite country was. My answer is always the developing or third world countries. In those places all your senses are greatly heightened as you move about sticking out like a sore thumb. Very exciting. I'm sure you know what I mean.
@NowinLao
@NowinLao 3 года назад
Couldn't agree more mate. In those countries, you KNOW you're somewhere else and their culture is thick. Most first world countries are pretty much all the same. I enjoy being outside of my comfort zone, experiencing life like you can't back home. Great comment brother 👍

Looks like an awesome destination! I went to India last year and this place looks 1000x cleaner and the air looks safe to breathe! It doesn't look like you need to dodge people, rickshaws or dangerous obstacles while walking either. People look very friendly and don't haggle or try to rip you off on every turn! Uploaded May 2021. I don't see people wearing masks and I hope Covid didn't affect them too much! As soon as Covid dies down, I may consider this as my next destination. Thanks for the insight and great video! Thumbs up from Canada!

Hey Bryan.. your assessment is spot on. Uploaded in May but we passed through that area in Feb', and at that time the only cases in Laos were those detected at the borders. There were no restrictions at that time and could move around easily. Fast forward to now and Delta, we're not doing too bad considering, although everybody is now masked up and lockdowns in place again. Doing much much better than our neighbours 👌 Touch wood 🪵 Cheers mate, and thanks for the music 👍

Good point about the generic, in this case, Chinese style modernisation. In some countries it is the US version 😆 and here the Chinese version. Sterile is the word. Same reason I hate malls in Australia! Sterile, big multinational companies, not the real deal local stuff, which Australia in my case and Laos in your case, have. I love local stuff in Australia and o/s wherever I am. Not generic sterile capitalist (I’m afraid of germs and bugs stuff). Has nothing to do with Chinese. A point lost on one of your viewers apparently!

Have to look on the map where Sekong is located, i was reading through all the comments and saw lot of negativity about this and that regarding the chinese, i didnt notice any bias eather way, so i think its not correct, then again regarding that china has a big influence in this part of the world, its just common sense to be wary of what the long term consequences are, people should know and learn what companies they deal with are they chinese or american or whatever, and let them decide where they put their money, in the longterm its easy, in a capitalist society the best bang for the back wins. Thats my take of it, then apart from that its politics and this channel i think isnt political so the comments from these people are very much unnecessary, and perhaps agenda based too.
