I love how Bryson doesn’t keep anything a secret. He tells us exactly what he does hoping it might help the average golfer. He tells us his swing/club/shaft/grip setups etc. Very cool to see a Top 10 world player act like a normal person.

I love how you bring so much excitement to the game. Not even just on the course. But those Eureka moments come so few and I get really excited when they happen but I don't feel like I can get that excited because of the old sport normalities. I feel like he gets so deep into mechanics sometimes that he forgets how far something as simple as a simple feeling in your release can go. Mad respect tho keep up the solid work my man
@WigganNuG
@WigganNuG 2 года назад
you pretty much HAVE to translate technical mechanics into a feel that you can repeat, because the swing is too fast. The key is you must work from REAL first before guessing at FEEL. Bryson makes sure the science/ mechanics, ie the REAL is sound, before he figures out the "feel".
@mattgajtka
@mattgajtka 2 года назад
@@WigganNuG Pretty much what I was going to say. He's on record many times saying that when he's out on the range before a big event, he's looking for a feel that he can ride when the shots count.

Bryson. What this video demonstrated more than anything is that you’re supremely hard-working and not afraid to keep trying, and learning, and waiting for the Eureka moments. Amazing dedication to seeking answers, no matter how slow they might be coming! You could speed up your discovery greatly by understanding musculoskeletal and neuro-anatomy a bit better. Below are direct quotes from this video and the time when they were mentioned, so you can see the position you demonstrate that you liked (good) and disliked (bad): “If I can feel my wrist is behind my elbow (2:47 - 2:52), as I’m swinging, it keeps the club more ahead of me (good). You gotta time it. That’s why all this motion stuff (3:28) is getting me to go internal (bad) and that’s why I go here (3:29 - bad). and it does this, instead of holding it off (good - 3:30). You gotta do motions ‘foom, foom’ (3.33 - good) So I want to feel like (7:14 - good) I’m going that way [look at the trail shoulder at 7:17] and then stopping and allowing the hands to go through. Then on the phone (10:43): I’m doing all these principles and shit to take it back, but the club’s like in front of or behind me and the face is still open. If it’s more in the palm it allows the club to turn over….” Even if you feel “stabilized” after a few swings, it cannot help long term because there are tons of variables that change day to day and hole by hole. The answer truly lies in the anatomy. I went to grad school wanting to understand the biomechanics better (which I do) but discovered early on that most of the answers can be found in anatomy. After all, as you mention, you’ve worked so hard on the backswing but you cannot always get the desired downswing positions you want. It happens becuase all your joints are unable to easily reroute their positions from the top of the backswing to impact in the mere ¼ sec. you your downswing probably lasts. And, to better describe all those feelings you had from the positions you demonstrated - what you are doing is protracting your trail shoulder less which is allowing your upper- and fore-arms to arrive into impact as you wish them to. If one were to work further backwards from your downswing idea, you should position your arms and body at the top so that they can easily get you into the slot you want for impact without having to think. And, believe me it, needs a specific top of backswing position to get to impact without excessive trail shoulder protraction and the ensuing arm-forearm-wrist issues. Happy experimenting. That is something I discovered for myself two weeks ago. I just didn’t understand what I stumbled onto. I’m still struggling to keep my timing together. This made up 50% of that battle. Bryson understands the biomechanics and has the right words and experience to explain it. For me it really feels like a more fluid swing rather than hitting transfer points. Now I just think to glide through the shot.

Byrson, Thanks again for your videos. You are my virtual guru! I had the same moment a week back! I had a terrible round of golf especially with driver, I kept thinking about my swing in next 2 days, watched some of yours, Brooks and other RU-vid coaching videos and went straight to driving range, incorporated 4 modifications(left arm single plane like you, bent right knee like Brooks, shoulder rotation and release the club) Boom Boom .. every driver shot i hit is a draw and perfect :) Just like you said, we have to keep trying different things to improve and attain consistency! Even though I started golf 1.5 years back, I am confident I will achieve my goals in 5 years(right now I am shooting high 70's and my target is to hit consistently below par, I didn't take any lessons, all my learnings are by just watching you and other youtube videos)! May be I will meet you or play with you in future(one of my dream!). Keep rocking Bryson! you will become GOAT
