Pro tip: try feeding the puppy with all four paws on the ground. That’s how a puppy normally eats from mom, so it’s got the best chance of success. :) Thanks for doing what you do!

They won't eat laying on their backs nor if their back paws are dangling. If you want to hold the pup while feeding try having the pup straddling your forearm with their chin in your palm or set them on a pillow or on the bed with their feet all on the bed. They prefer to have something under their feet to push against.

From a rescuer of orphaned kittens and puppies - please Joey, never feed a puppy on its back, that's very dangerous. They don't have a gag reflex yet and it's very easy to accidentaly get milk into their lungs. Make sure you feed them belly down! Never on their back. Otherwise they can aspirate and get pneumonia.

I'm actually concerned about her bringing lime specifically outside into the dirt. I don't know if it's her thinking it's "special attention", she might have done it becuase maybe she thought he didn't have a chance or something like abandoning it. That's what had me concerned becuase as I kid that exactly how I got my first dog, her mom literally abandoned becuase she was a runt. She but her in a hole and tried to bury her.

Just friendly tip, When bottle feeding pets, it’s best to have them against a warm part of ur body just as a comfort thing, but most importantly, to keep them on all fours or on their bellies, nose pointed upward etc,. Basically don’t hold like a human baby. Lol!

You never feed a puppyy while it´s lying on its back. They ALWAYS have to drink in a belly down position.

When you’re feeding the puppy rub under his chin on his throat. It forces him to swallow.

Judging by the intro, I think the puppy could have liver failure. This was the same behavior my kitten had before we found out he had liver failure. He passed the next day but he was limp, very low in weight, his mouth started to turn yellow, and he refused food. I am not a vet, but am just leaving what happened in my experience as a pet owner. My kitten was probably around 4 or 5 months.

Especially with the strugglers you should weigh them daily, I know kittens we weigh daily. Also, if you have any trouble bottle feeding syringe feeding works better. You get like a 10ml syringe put a nipple on it and then you can see exactly how much they ate and if they are having a hard time suckling you can control it.

You are amazing Joey and I don’t wanna give advice that isn’t wanted, but when you have a big litter, to reduce the stress on the mom and also for all the puppies to get enough nutrition, we divide the litter. We put half in a cozy laundry basket or whatever you can do, and then let only half eat at a time. Then just switch when time. You’re doing great! Good luck with everything. The puppies and mama are adorable! 💜

💕 they're growing so fast, love the little mini fluffy polar bears. just a suggestion; keep a bottle or 2 of formula nearby just in case since you have 11 growing munchkins fighting for Miss Momma May's nipples. Also as seen at times animal mommas will push away the 'weaker' babies so the stronger ones survive. And watch certain garden corners miss May could bring the puppies too as well

When I had bottle baby puppies, I would always use a human baby bottle and just cut a bigger x slit in the nipple. You are doing great with the mom and pups. Oh and make sure to feed pup belly down or the puppy can aspirate. Always look forward to your videos and updates! 💞🐾

Just for future reference puppies shouldn’t be fed on there back, it can increase there risk of aspersion and generally they just don’t like it because it’s not natural

It actually makes sense that one of them lost weight, if you look at Mama May's belly. She has 10 nipples, but she has 11 puppies. So what most likely happened was March was waiting for one of his siblings to finish eating but a couple times Mama May got up before he could eat, resulting in weight loss, just make sure you can go back and give the smaller ones a bottle snack because, you got some large babies and some tiny babies so the bigger ones could end up bullying them off the nipple. Just do NOT feed them on their back! Put them, belly down, on a pillow and then hold the bottle in front of them. That should help them to drink easier.
