AnimsOnDemand it's a little bit more than just suspension. The type r weighs over 100 lbs less than a type s. Type s didn't come with lsd, type r did. Type r also has 220 hp. Type s had 201 hp and later models had 210 hp. An integra type r can reach the quarter mile in 14.4 seconds. Stock type s is about 14.9. Just wish they gave us option to buy type r.
True I did miss out on those parts hehe. It would be nice to have, but at least we have the chassis. The best one can do is build their Type S to be their dream Type R build or better. I'd be even more upset if we didn't get the car at all. 10hp is negligible especially with mods like Kpro. And there are better aftermarket lsd's available. No need to wait until 2026 man.
AnimsOnDemand good thing is we got the civic type r coming to the USA. I'm excited for that car. 300+ hp in a hot hatch. That will be my next Honda project.
It is a shame you guys didn't receive many Type R's but as you mentioned in a more recent post, the Sedan Civic Type R is coming, I am looking forward to that too.
Great video as always and thanks for showing the heel and toe camera - much appreciated :) I can highly recommend the 3M Headlight Restoration Kit to fix those faded headlights - mine were really bad and now they look like new. Just remember to add some sealant as a final stage as you've basically removed the UV protection applied from factory to the headlights.
Many thanks for the comment and advice. Have you tried the Meguiar's headlight restoration kit? A few people seem to go on about that product too. I will be ordering a kit soon and not sure which one to get.
I've only used the 3M kit once. It worked so good I didn't have to use any other kits. Before attempting it I watched several tutorials on youtube. My advice is to use many layers of masking tape around the lights and take your time. Good Luck!

I need to get a daily driver (in the UK) to drive to and from work. This could range anywhere between a 5 mile and a 50 mile journey. Would you recommend the Integra Type R over a Honda Civic Type R JDM EP3? From what i have read, the Civic Type R can feel uncomfortable on longer journeys? I’m 6ft 3, so how spacious are these as a driver? Also, what security would you advise for such a vehicle and finally, how severe is the security for this vehicle? Great video 🙃

Good video again! Why is this DC5 so heavy? It’s supposed to be 1180kgs for the pre facelift. 1190kg for the face lift and add 10kg if it’s the c package with extras like rear window wiper heated mirrors ect. Those are wet weights with all fluids and a full tank of gas. This weighed in at 1245kgs in comparison the FD2 is 1260-1270kgs wet weight and yours weighed in at 1220kgs which is about right if it had an empty tank of gas. But the dc5 was too heavy for some reason, do you know why?
Would the little bit of extras i had in the car affect the weight? Like bassbox + wirings, double din tv screen etc. These don't sound like much but maybe when added up it can be about 20kg - Although I didn't have the boot lid either so not entirely sure.. only mod I had on the car was the rm01 exhaust & wheels were meant to be lightweight wheels xD
Does it weight 1245kg with you in it? If so that's pretty light. With a bit of weight reduction it's already close to dc2 weight. If it's 1245kg without u then that's heavy lol
Hey, I am 5"8... I think lol Haven't measured my height since school! What car will the Recaro SR4 be going in as it will make a difference. Lower seat rails could also help.
Not a coupe, its not a coupe, Its a hatchback/fastback/hothatch, (any of those would be more appropriate) the supra is a hatch, the dc2 integra have been and are a hatch, not a coupe, because if you go to the rear of the car, you will not find a trunk that opens, you will find a hatch that opens all the way up, other than that mistake, great video
Hey Alex, the DC5R is a great car from standard. The engine may not be as powerful as the FD2R but there's hardly anything in it unless you are on track with long straights like Silverstone. The handling in the FD2R is really something else. It corners harder, brakes better and is practical too. Of course, I am comparing both cars in standard form. I would so choose the DC5R if it had the handling of the FD2R and of course, it looks really sporty. Which do you prefer?
+PerformanceCars I have got a 2003 DC5 Type R, quite modified though, toda headers, downpipe and exhaust, mugen N1 ecu, etc....Braking wise got AP5200 so of course will behave differently from stock, considering getting a Fd2r but not sure yet haha~

The best front wheel drive car ever is the DC2 Integra, not the DC5 , I think all the Experts would agree with me, the DC2 has far better suspension, it's just a great car, take care people.
Thank for the comment :) I assume you are from the UK. I'm pretty sure you can only finance a car through a dealer/company. Have a look for Import companies as they usually offer that service. What colour will you be getting?
PerformanceCars it would probably be white. i do live in the UK and i currently have a stock fn2. i wanted an fd2 but those imports are a little bit too much to insure.
It's best to speak to an importer/dealer as they would most probably take your FN2 as a part exchange too. The FD2 didn't work out that expensive insurance wise. It's cheaper than my S2000 to insure.
Hi Martin, if you are after a performance car that doesn't break the bank, reliable and simply awesome from the start then I can't fault this car. If I didn't purchase my FD2R then I would have most certainly bought a DC5R.

It's a bit of an unfair comparison using the C63 AMG and the DC5 though. They're both in different classes with different engines etc. Like you said, the C63 is a monster, the DC5 isn't. I've driven and reviewed the C63, although fast in a straight line, it doesn't handle so well.
Alex G it's not amazing at all. You're comparing cars in two totally different categories and price brackets. One is a lightweight 2.0 high power low torque coupe and the other is a 6.2 heavyweight RWD torquey car. There's an approx 4200cc difference in engine size!
Thats kind of what i mean though, we now live in a time and place where something that is two tonnes with a gigantic engine can outperform a purpose built lightweight sportscar. This would have been unthinkable back 10-20 years ago. Just goes to show how far technology and advancement has come
Hey mate what do you mean the UK model? As far as i'm aware the UK never released any integra's and all of them in the UK are usually imported from Japan.
