The Weardale way, Frosterley, Hikingin Weardale, Harehope quarry, Weardales lead mining past
If you like we do love Weardale and it's stunning beauty the this short hike is a gem. Definitely one of Weardales hidden treasures.
Our journey takes us along a wooded footpath above the river Wear, then leads us to some stunning sights. Where's we see glimpses into the dales lead mining past, it's dried up river bed where the water still flows under the ground beneath us. we even get to see sections of Frossterley marble. Let us take you on this magnificent trip we are sure you will enjoy it.

Interesting video. Thank you. Yes , Frosterly marble is beautiful and can be seen in Durham Cathedral . Nice to see it before it is polished.

Thank you I really appreciate that. Those steps are great fun to climb down and it kooks stunning. It's great to see when the water is in full flow and is racing down where we climbed. 👍👍

That's amazing, I imagine life in the Dale back then would have been so much different for your ancestors. I'm pleased you enjoyed watching and we appreciate you doing so. The blue plant you couldn't identify looked like Scabious. The pillars of Frosterley marble are in Durham Cathedral. Done the route loads of times as I am local to Frosterley. Nice one.

Was that Hill End at 1.40? We went there for the first time at the beginning of the year, first walk away from a local walk after lockdown and we all loved it. The polished marble did look amazing and somebody told me about it when I did my video from there, shame I did not know about it at the time. That looked a great circular walk and no wonder it is a family favourite, cheers Alan
