This song is a cheering song made for the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake of 3.11. A powerful song that sheds light on those who fight disasters around the world.
Yes, literally meaning be a light in the world, but Taka wrote this song in response to the great earthquake (and tsunami) in Japan in 2012 that took away the lives of many people, hence the lyrics: what did we do wrong? ... You've been to hell and back etc, encouraging people to be the light in a time of great disaster and adversity, and to keep looking to the light for hope ^^
Just a little information about Taka, his parents are talented Japanese singers. His father Shinichi Mori is a legendary super-star "Enka" singer. Many of his songs are things that have affected Taka and his band-mates at some time of their lives. That's why his deep feelings can be felt in his performances. He comes from singing royalty.
I hope you understand the deeper meaning of this song, how people are going through their hard time after the great earth quake. I was really scared and this memory is still haunting me over and over again. I thank Taka how he tries comforting people and giving the courage to live.
The Japanese he said is:People always live in the forgotten and recollection, but there must had something you can remember forever and must had something you can let go.please live with all the thing you have been and aftertast in you heart hardly.
Thanks again for reacting to ONE OK ROCK still! If you want to react to their rock ballads, try etcetera and living dolls loved those songs!! But i hope you could react to Cry Out Live at Nagisaen or Cry Out Live at Metrock 2016
Fyi, they live in California in Los Angeles area if im not wrong. They have their own house there. And of course their hometown was in japan but they live in US for working in music album etc
nice to meet you. I'm kenshi hori . I always look forward to your one ok rock reaction in japan. By the way, I am writing this message because I would like to upload your one ok rock videos on RU-vid with Japanese subtitles. Is that ok for you? I always think that Japanese people like to see how people outside of Japan like you react to Japanese but they usually speak English so Japanese people don’t understand what you say. Ah I would like to add Japanese subtitles and upload videos on my RU-vid channel. Is that ok for you?
