What fans would want to hear from the 3 stooges who ran the NY Mess into the ground, they treated the team like a bodega rather than a major league organization. Thank god they're no longer the owners after stealing the team from Doubleday.
I've been a Mets fan for 20 years and I couldn't pick out either of the Wilpons out in a lineup. I think thats a problem when it comes to an owner. Cohen is a godsend and will finally run this team like a big market franchise it should've been run like.
Met fan since 1962. I am an original Lady Met, the “women’s auxiliary “ back in the day. Been on this roller coaster for what seems like several lifetimes, and never want to get off this wild ride. No @‘s...win or lose, I am and will always be, a Met fan.
I was born in 1986 and my parents raised me as a Mets fan... now that I’m a father my 9 year old son is a huge Mets fan and we can’t wait to to city field...god bless and stay safe Janet merry Christmas 🎄
Janet Allen I congratulate u on your loyalty and perseverance over the last 60 years. We are cut from the same cloth. I was a Dodgers fan and when they left I suffered for 5 years until embracing the Mets. I wonder how many of us 60year people are still around???
As a lifelong (58 yr) Met Fan how could anyone not luv this man as our owner???Finally someone who is a Met fan & not just a business man to own our team! This guy is the best Christmas gift we all coulda got as Met fans...I havent smiled this much since Jake deGrom won his 2nd cy Young Award...Merry Christmas to all & Lets Go Mets!!! R
Us old timers are creeping out into the light. Since 1965 for me. Can still rattle off the players and their numbers. 15? Always Jerry Grote. Mr Steve is water to my soul.
I already really like Steve Cohen. He is saying all the right things, and doesn't evade the tough questions, he meets them head on and articulates them in the proper way. I'm confident that he will turn this team around. And Steve is smart enough to realize that these bad player acquisitions have to just STOP (Jed Lowrie, Jason Bay, Bobby Bonilla, etc.) So we can't keep asking the Mets to just sign every free agent that becomes available on the market. We have to be patient and give this guy a chance. Let's Go Mets!!!
@@the_great_gavonne let me guess yankees fans? phillies fan? nationals fan? that’s cool. but do you not know how rich this man is i don’t think he cares about overpaying someone and if your a yankee fan weren’t you guys going all crazy on twitter on how much you guys wanted McCann or Realmuto yeah and now he’s “mediocre” ight 😂😂
He made a good point about not wanting to sign too many players in their 30’s to long term contracts potentially on the down side of their careers ...then u can get stuck for a long while with mediocrity and he is trying to build a team that is great for many years not just for 2021. Personally would like to see them trade for Lindor who is not that old and give Gimenez a shot at 3B. Still hoping we get Springer and Bauer too despite their ages...
Been a Mets fan since 1969 and I don't think I've been this excited to follow my team during the offseason since then. Hopefully when fans are allowed at baseball games again, my son (another huge fan) and I will be getting to Citifield from upstate NY for a couple of games. The last few years we've watched our Mets at other stadiums as a protest against the previous ownership. Thanks for being an owner who knows what it's like to be a regular fan. Go Mets!
Or Dominican League with Jose Reyes or Pedro involved in some form? I know Reyes wasn’t at peak anymore when he joined the Mets for the second go-around, but he was always a fan favorite.
It takes a certain personality to do what Steve Cohen does. I think it's genuine, can't fake it really. To interact with the fans is great. Owners mostly care about what's going into their pockets. I'm sure Steve Cohen wants to make money also lol. There are not too many owners in any sport that interact with the fans. I like this about our owner. I also think that Steve's wife Alex is really involved more than we think. That's fantastic. Don't they look like real-life Mr. and Mrs. Met? lol all jokes aside, I am happy once again as a Met's fan, hoping for The Mets will be the talk of the town again.
Since the Mets area the new big player in NY. It would be awesome if Mets would Show it to the City by making a big move to commemorate 9/11 & first responders an the twin towers memorial at Citi Field. Here are some ideas one idea maybe built the towers next to the big Apple rising up between the towers or some art work of the towers and first responders on the Outfield wall. The other idea could be the towers on each side of the scoreboard or screen. The other simple possibility rename different sections in the stadium dedicated to the different fire company or units that responder. That would be a permanent tribute to them. also some of the Mets greats sections Also something special for Casey Stengel with polo grounds & Gil Hodges
Eventhough it's already June, I'm still speechless that the Wilpons are no longer the owners of the Mets! Steve Cohen is giving me hope with the way he's taken over!
Don’t solely focus on the fans deciding especially those pulling for a Lindor/Arenado trade. When it doesn’t work out, those same fans will blame you! Good luck Steve and Let’s Go Mets🧡💙🧡💙🧡
Mr.Cohen we absolutely need Springer,Top flight pitcher, and Arenado despaerately to make our and your Mets a competitive ream again for years to come and possibly get in a world series or three and actually win one or two of them please!
Another broken promise to Mets fans. “Expect a nice present for Christmas.” ~ S.A. McCain isn’t exactly a present. He’s good, but he’s a two- platoon catcher who’s never played a whole season. Let’s see how good he is after 150 games.
We love you Mr. Cohen, please right this ship you know what we need starting pitching Syn and Stro are 500 at best so we need top line starters Bauer and Sugano from Japan no over the hill guys please unload Matz he is a head case that just is getting worse not better ...Please Steve get the pitching we have a top 5 offense , Diaz is an 8th inning guy he has no get out pitch i saw to many 10 pitch counts last year ending in a home run or hit , Familia is the guy you bring in when your down 5 runs he also is unreliable ...Thanks Steve been a fan since 1961 when i was 8 i'm 67 now ..
Steve Cohen's _"aim is to build a foundation for sustained success,"_ and I cannot disagree with this.Think long term over instant (wannabe) gratification.
Will you lead the Mets in a coordinated effort to help get Gil Hodges into the HOF when the Golden Age Committee meets in 2021? #HOFneedsHodges. If you would like a free button or sticker, please let us know. -Let's Go Mets! Anthony Marasco
What a coincidence. I just put a letter in the mail to this man. It had to do with the ”progressive” politics that is ruining the game. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if he replies.
Look into acquiring Sony Gray via trade and Jose Quintana (LHSP) vis free agency for the starting rotation, PLEASE.... (trade Gsellman, Familia & Matz or put Matz in bullpen )
trust me! I know that, BUT why the hell did we ever pay tribute to the Yankees?????? Dodgers and Giants, of course! But, the SKANKS?????? makes no sense!
He didn't address the issue of the team walking off the field, which was the darkest day in the history of The Mets. As long as they have criminal sympathizers like Dom "Crybaby" Smith on the squad they will always be LOSERS. They need a manager who won't put up with this instead of the timid pushover they have now.
No one is doing business right now as evident by DJ, Springer, Bauer, Realmuto, Ozuna all still being on the market. Guaranteed after the new year that will change. There was one notable free agent signed so far...and he was signed by the Mets.
Did you listen to when Steve said that he is approaching this as an owner rather than solely as a fan? I trust that he will make the moves we need to make when we need to make them. You can’t just spend money on every single player available!
The Met uniform pays tribute to the 3 NY teams prior to their foundation, Orange from the Giants, Blue from the Dodgers, and, unfortunately, the pinstripes from the Yankees. As long as it's not the racing stripe from the 80's, I'm OK with it.
