Imagine if she ADDED brute strength to her game?? Bug serves?? Power??? She'd be the best ever. It's unfortunate she did not try to improve her game over her career. Sad. All the best players did that. Rafa Is always improving his game.

Hinges did not put in the time to get bigger stronger faster better. But I admit she had raw talent ! Out of all the greats. It's too bad she didn't put in the time and effort

@@kjbennie9245 Serena, Venus, Navratilova have much different body types than Hingis. They are naturally bigger have bigger muscles. Justine Henin trained to get stronger, but she was also a better athlete than Hingis IMHO.

She inherited the throne when Graf became injured...I'm not sure what would have happened if Graf had played , Wimbledon no chance I know that one for sure ..Graf hammered her twice without playing well in 95 n 96 at Wimbledon.

There careers were entwined 99 French open affected Hingis s longevity and never won a slam after.

No so smart. Had she played smart against the big hitting Williams sisters, she would have won many more slams. She is the finest player (male or female) I have ever seen, a fact corroborated by her record in doubles where skill (technique) is more important than fitness and power. Against the Williams sisters she tried to beat them at their game, bit like MacEnroe against Lendl. Had she played short and down the middle, that would have negated the power of the Williams. OK, it doesn't stop the many aces both hit down but she ran them very close in every game I watched; I just think she was so much better than them other than the power. Yes, for me the finest of them all.

im no expert in tennis, just very casual. When watching her all those years ago i always remarked on how well she 'placed' the ball. Youre right, she couldnt smash the ball 1000mph, just would put the ball in opponent's court where they werent. Make them run around all day long!

@@sds2954 oh her, martina, tracey austin & pam shriver hated her cos she basically ended their careers. They had a nice cosy little set up in the mid 80s & then boom, here comes Steffi. And she didn't kiss their asses, just kept to herself! And because Steff doesn't spend her life bigging herself up in interviews, they've more or less relegated her to a bit part player. But real tennis fans know the truth. Phew, rant over 😂😂😂🎾🎾

@@gailemory3625 hahahah. 100% agree. I ranted under the interview she had with Seles. She made statements such as "had u not gotten stabbed you would have been the GOAT", By 1993 you were 3-1 against Steffi". But failing to mention during the Seles dominant years it was 4-3 to Seles and most of her wins came on clay. Seles best surface. And also failed to take into account Steffi's slump from mid 1990 due to the blackmail scandal which caused the loses.

@@sds2954 the whole monica situation is tragic, it really is. For monica of course, but in a way steffi was a victim too. It overshadowed her achievements unfairly. She could only play whoever was in the other side of the court. And monica was supposed to be her big rival, they were supposed to have pushed each other their whole careers. Sadly it didn't happen & we'll never know how it would have played out. But the facts remain, steffi was the superior all round athlete & woukd have dominated monica everywhere except clay. Monica fans act like steffi hired the guy. Its ridiculous. But i do have real sympathy for monica, even tho i think she did use the stabbing as an excuse a lot

@@k1berryman I know! Her demeanor on court did not lend itself to bringing me in. But this interview was so amazing in that it served its purpose. Meaning, an excellent interview will provide an aspect of the person being interviewed that we, the audience, were not aware of... Martina is such a breath of fresh air. I wish her continued success and hopefully she helps the WTA continue to grow and prosper. Much love!

I don’t look for her to interview Margaret Court, Or Steffi for that matter. I think she did Martina. As for the others, who knows

Court sense and great anticipation are the hallmarks of Martina's game. You either have it or you don't.

There was a preview of these interviews a while back - I didn't see Graf but Monica was on it!! Can't wait for that one as Monica rarely does interviews

I fully agree - I don't think Steffi will ever do any extensive interviews the way most players are doing it. Steffi's silence has only raised her status and made her a bit of a myth among tennis athletes. She really is a legend and people can't read into her

She did. I watched it 3 days ago. It was good. Monica is my favorite tennis player of all time, male or female.

I remember a story that came in 1994. This was after Monica's stabbing incident, she wasn't playing and was going through psychiatric treatment, additionally sad that her attacker didn't get punished and also dealing with her dad's illness - in short a very had phase. It seems Chris saw Monica at an airport. As soon as Monica saw her, it seems there was shock and sadness on Monica's face. As Chris tried to approach her, she ran away to the washroom , locker herself in. Chris tried to talk to her to come out but all she could hear were muffled cries from other side. Poor Monica, tennis world and thr German courts have been cruel to her :(
