Mrs. Hingis is using her eyes focused on every changing atmosphere. Open minded. Awaked. Lovely. She's a natural and polite, strong woman. Thank you so much for uploading this!
My first grand slam was the Wimbledon final watching Martina , become the youngest Wimbledon finalist and winner in Wimbledon history , double final , I still have the programme from that match. but great to see history in the making
ahe is one of my top 5 greatest players . the 1999 French Open was one of the unforgettable games, but it happened for a remarkable reason...and that was Steffi and Agassi's start of their love story
What a wise inspirational lady. Highest respect to her! She inspired me when I was a teenager and now, years later, she’s still someone I look up to xx
Thank you for interview Ksenia Pervak, Did you ask about 99 roland garros final match to Martina Hingis out of interview ? Was the ball in or out really ? Because we were very sad for Martina Hingis and we saw in. She played unbelieveble match against steffi graf. When i was a child I always watched her every matches and loved. In my opinion Martina Hingis is the most talented tennis player all the time. And she always will live in our hearts as the champion. Never worry Legend Martina. The French there didn't deserve to watch a talent like you. Greetings and loves from Turkey.
I know your comment is 2 years old, but I'm replying anyway! That ball was almost certainly in. I have no doubt that if Hawkeye existed back then, it would've been overruled. Unfortunately, Martina lost every ounce of her composure after that. I'd never seen her break down mentally like it. I often wondered if she was genuinely overwhelmed for the first time in her career. Up against a tennis legend, an outright hostile and borderline vitriolic crowd, desperately trying to win the missing Grand Slam from her cabinet. On top of being world number 1 with the expectation of winning it.
She is very articulate in her speech! Although, she couldn't play the power game of Williams sisters, her shot-making was intelligent and placements were accurate and tough to reach! She could have won many more grand slams!!!
The injuries didn't help. That's why she initially retired at 22. Martina remains my favourite player, but her serve was a liability in the power era. I often wondered why she didn't look at someone like Henin in that regard, who was even smaller than Martina but her serve was still a weapon. Despite that shortcoming, even when she returned to the sport the first time, she remained a huge threat to the top players. Genius doubles player too, proven by her successes in that area with so many different partners. Just born a fraction too late. If she'd been around in the late 80s early 90s she would undoubtedly have won more singles slams.
She was a very talented, focused, hard-working player. She struggled with some power and fast hitting players and players who hit the ball very deep. Watched her a couple times at Saddlebrook against different hitting players. I like how open she is about everything about tennis.
I could never understand how she managed to be a top player. I was told you have to have a champions serve and be taller and stronger than other players to be champion. Martina Hingis proved this all wrong.
You think she's humble? Maybe she sounds that way in an interview, but I think she's a cocky little bitch on court. Or certainly used to be. That's what I've always loved about her.
humble my ass. she trashed every single opponent when she was playing singles. even anna kournikova... which was her doubles partner. she was a mouthy brat until steffi destroyed her and ended her single career. plus .. she was banned for cocaine use. that's anything but humble or classy.
She got hooked on the blow And that's 1 here career started to take a turn for the worst I will never forget her press conference after she tested hot for cocaine 😞
she was my crush, so beautiful, and still so beautiful. i loved her tennis, smile everything. if only i could meet her one day, would have taken her autograph and a selfie probably.
People would oh give her such oh a bad rap when she played; cuz of her well non chalantness and happy a go person there. But i always; had found her quite fetchin really. Always a lovely gal. Her tennis were as great but she brought more there to it.
In any sport you need a good coach. Richard Callaghan coached Todd Eldridge 6 time Man's U.S. Figure Skating Champion. Richard also coached Nicole Bobek Woman's 1995 U.S. Figure Skating champion and 1995 World bronze medal. He also coached Tara Lipinski 1997 woman's U.S. Figure Skating Champion 1997 world champion and 1998 Olympic championship. Frank Carol coached Linda Fratianne 4 consecutive woman's U.S figure skating champion 1977-1980 and 2 world championships and Olympic Silver Medal. Frank Carol coached Michelle Kwan that won 9 women's U.S. Figure Skating championships. 5 World Women Champion and 4 other world medals also won Silver and Bronze Olympic medals. Frank Carol also coached Evan Frank Lysaek Men's 2 time U.S Figure skating gold medalist, 2 times Silver, 2 times bronze. 2009 World Champion 2010 Olympic Champion. Bela Karolyi was coach of several champions in Gymnastics. NFL Football had Vince Lombardo to lead the Green Bay Packers to 6 NFL Championships pre superbowl and after NFL and AFL merged 2 Superbowls. College Foot Ball had Bear Bryant to lead Alabama to 7 National Championships and 14 SEC championships and was voted SEC coach of year 12 times.
She’s Def ONE of the best, imho. As I posted earlier…her record proves this by having records against two of THEE premier players in Serena Williams (7-6, Williams with the lead)…and Venus(11-10) being VERY competitive and strong. I thought she was the pitcher, Greg Maddox, of the women’s tennis world. Able to pin point her shots to deadly accuracy. And mastered the speed of her return serves and volleys. But, imho…. She’s in the elite class of Steffi, the Williams, Martina Navratilova and Monica Seles.
@@thathawaiiandude787 nope. Arrogant. Won a couple of grad slams (singles) in the years between real talented players. Then settled into boring doubles.
Part of sports going down is newer sports coming into popularity such as snow boarding, skate boarding, Wind Surfering, ect. Evel Knievel brought about the popularity of Motor Cycle jumping and other now do it with skate boards, snow boards, ect. Fewer kids are playing Soft Ball and more Kids are playing Soccer or as Spanish call it Futbol.
always like her as a player, she was a bit like Borg in the men`s game as a player always a step in front mentally he could read the shots that mattered, a very clever and beautiful woman!
Whoever produced this, WHY would you put such loud drums in the intro? People watch RU-vid on phones with headphones. For gods sakes use your imagination and don’t torture the viewers
The Williams Sisters were groundbreaking in telling elite players, slow down. Take it slow. To breaks away from the tour grind to relax, have fun, rest your body and dedicate time to other pursuits.
Martina Hingis is only nice when the cameras are on her. I met her out once and she was incredibly rude and unfriendly. Disappointing to have met a childhood idol who turned out to be a not nice person.
Bryan Brothers made a career playing doubles and mixed doubles. Martina Hingis and Anna Kournikova were also number ones in doubles. She was also number one in singles and doubles at the same time, as were Margaret Court, Martina Navratilova, and Serena Williams. I think there was another also but not sure who.
Never what people made it out to be. And I believe adjustments to what equated to a positive test have been made since. There was trace amount of cocaine in her sample. A trace so small that it would've passed the notoriously stringent US military testing. The amount always suggested contamination (entirely possible from bank notes and the like. I believe there is a crazy stat about the prevalence of trace cocaine on banknotes, especially in North America.) As to whether she did use the stuff, only she will know for sure.
