Please people, don't use bag. Marinade in a bowl, put dry seasoning in 1st then mix in oil then meat pieces, turn till evenly coated. Better for environment and less messy. I will be cooking this tonight, looks great.
I tired this last night and used corn starch instead of flour due to celiac disease of one of my diners. It was GREAT! The chicken was so tender. I used thighs. I cook thighs in the oven and manage to make them really dry and unappealing. This recipe was a success. Thank you.

This time I modified and instead used chicken legs and added 2 lamb leg steaks and used oregano instead of Thyme too! I have made your dish a couple times before to your directions and it is so-o-o DELICIOUS and EASY to put together every time. That's why I knew I could modify it a bit and know it woundn't fail! *I got the humanly raised and organic meats at a good mark down to "use tonight." Your recipe is the best, so simple no problem with using them that night!.

As hard as it was to share my leftovers, I went to the pan and divided one of the thighs amongst the dogs and they loved it, too! I have made this twice before and my family loved it! Last weekend, I made a few changes where I marinated some chicken thighs in some garlic paste, ginger paste, soy sauce, table salt (not too much since there’s some soy sauce), celery salt, black & white pepper, dried thyme, rubbed sage, chili powder instead of paprika and some cut chilies in a ziplock bag. After 1 hour marination, I seared the chicken in an oven proof skillet, then added the onions, potatoes, carrots, flour + broth, then put it in the oven for half an hour at 350 F. It tasted amazing!!! Thank you so much for this recipe and video! 🙏

Update: Hello again! 👋 I have now made 3 variations of this chicken. Your version, the version I mentioned in my previous comment, and another version where I omitted the thyme and sage, and replaced them with pinches of ground cardamom, ground cinnamon and bay leaves… whichever variation I make, it always comes out a winner! The true test is with my teenage fussy eater/daughter… every chicken dish I make, she’ll only eat the breast meat or the tenders… but this dish she gobbles down the thigh meat, potatoes and carrots! Her words “This is good and so juicy!” So thank you again for this recipe 🙏 👍 😊
Dave's chicken recipes are quick, easy and delicious! This is one of the best. I like to fry the onion for a few minutes before adding the chicken, I find the caramelised onion adds good depth of flavour to the gravy. I don't put dry flour in - I cook the chicken and veg in chicken stock only (plus a few knobs of butter), and once everything's cooked I thicken the gravy with a little cornflour slurry (2 tbsp cornflour and an inch or two of cold water mixed in a mug). Superb!

If you're adding oil to the marinade I find it easier and better to just mix your spices with the oil in a bowl and then pour onto the chicken for a more eveb distribution and coating of the marinade

Alwin... I am sorry I did not see this sooner. I had skinless chicken breast... it came out perfectly. The chicken was extremely tender and not over cooked. I just tried his pork chops with mushroom gravy... EXCELLENT. At least his recipes do not require a special trip to the market and a ton of money. Be blessed 🙏🏼
