Sanji used to have ambition and big dreams, the All Blue, and didn't care if people mocked him for it. But after he got stranded on that rock he felt like his dream didn't matter anymore and that only Zeff's new dream, the restaurant, was important, he was holding back all the time cause he felt so indebted to him. Seeing Zoro and Luffy fight like that for their own dreams and ambitions, and also Zeff's comment, reminded him of how he also used to be. Sanji and Zeff goodbye gets me everytime🥲

Both Zoro and Sanji are 19 years old. Both Luffy and Usopp are 17 years old. Nami is 18. That's why you see there's always this good chemistry and friendship between them. As for Zoro and Sanji, they just hate each other's faces but deep inside they care for each other.

@@Gutslinger The actor is 31, so you're close to the mark honestly, but your face palming makes it seem like 31 is old lmao. She looks pretty youthful to me, and I would've guessed she was like 24 or something. A lot of girls can look pretty mature at 18 since that's just the way us gals develop, and looking at Emily Rudd's pictures, I wouldn't be too surprised if she was anywhere from 20 years old to her early thirties. Point being, I really didn't take much notice with how old/young she looked in the live action ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I beg you guys!!! Don't stop reacting after Arlong Park!!! I know you wanna wait for the second season of the LA, but if you only knew how many amazing things and characters are coming! You are going to love it so much!!! I started One Piece in february and just caught up to it and.... I miss binge watching!!!! It's such an amazing world and you can never get enough. 1080 episodes is not enough!!!

Luffy is actually discovering and unlocking more of his Devil Fruit abilities as he goes on with his journey. As the line goes in the live action, the Grand Line have bigger pirates meaning stronger and much more dangerous pirates that will stand on Luffy's quest. This is one of the most exciting parts of an adventure battle anime series/manga. To see characters grow and become stupidly stronger.

Definitely keep the tissues close, you will need them in every arc, guaranteed! One Piece is definitely a roller coaster. As a new OP fan myself (started watching in 2021) I can say it’s one of my absolute favorites. So good that I have binge watched it twice. Why? Because I had caught up to the last episode available when it was only in the 800’s and decided to rewatch it with my best friend (I coaxed her to start watching it lmao) and she also loves it. We are almost caught up to the latest episodes! I think you guys will have a hard time stopping after Arlong park. It just sinks it’s claws in…it’s quite addictive haha! Love your reactions! One of the fun things about watching stuff in other languages than your own IMO, is also that you start to pick up words in that language which adds to the emotion! There is actually one scene in this arc that for some reason gets me as much as the ending. It's when Sanji asks Luffy if he's ever hear about the All Blue. It's the expression on Sanji's face in that moment, the dream of the child still being alive in the (young) adult Sanji. And the way Zeff is looking on with that tender expression on his face just completes it. One thing that bothers me about this arc is that the translation is a little sloppy. Zeff DOES call Sanji "little eggplant" throughout (chibinasu: chibi=little, nasu=eggplant). The translator changed it to "little brat" which I think wasn't the best choice. (Unecessary translation note: "chibi" is only for a person being small, you can't use it for things. Sort of like calling someone a pipsqueak.) It's always so nice to watch you two, but if I were to have a criticism the sound mixing really does make it a little hard to keep up with what's going on in the episode you're reacting to.

I loved the live action Sanji/Zeff relationship. Zeff is more vulnerable in the live action and that adds depth to his character. I loved his monologue when he told Sanji why he gave him all the food and the soundtrack during that monologue was so befitting that scene. It was really well done. As much as I love the anime relationship, that live action relation was peak storytelling. With this said, we now come to my absolute favorite part of the East Blue Saga, Arlong Park. This story was much better told in the anime and will not only hit you in the feels but it will steamroll over it.

Don Krieg is a really good villain. He fully encapsulates the embodiment of power corrupts the mind. He is delusional and thinks high and mighty with his weapons and armor covering him.

I get they had to speed the story forward for the live action. But beating don kreig is a big reason of why sanji joined luffy imo, seeing him never back down from his dream it inspires him. in the LA they just have luffy get his ass kicked by arlong. then sanji is like "this loser right here, he's my captain now"

32:09 H&J, I’ve used an entire box of tissues for OP before! 😂❤️❤️ Some of the emotional moments stretch over several episodes and/or hit you so hard you’re still crying when the episode is over. There aren’t many stories that can make you sob uncontrollably like OP, but that’s a testament to its storytelling.

I was mostly saying it because you guys keep apologizing for noise and stuff! So I just imagined that fixing the issue would make you guys not have to think about it. Like, there are so many different types of mics out there. Some are good at capturing audio in big spaces, some at really short distance etc. If you get the correct microphone, you can totally eliminate the pipe noise in the background, I can almost guarantee it. But it is fine if you don't also. I am just suggesting that there are solutions out there

One Piece is a great mix of fun (luffy is a big part of it, but not the only one), of discovery (the world) and of emotions (sadness and joy). Tissues are mandatory ;) But that's the reason why is manga has such a big fanbase. Regarding the Live Action, I think/consider they made a more "american" ending to this arc (Sanji saying goodbye). Because kneeling is way less common in america than in japan. So it's consistent with the rest of the L.A. while not being an offence to the original material, nor a poorer version. Another good point to the live action and good adaptation.

I know that one of the writers for season 2 of the Live Action is Randy Troy, a pretty big One Piece youtuber; check him out, but be prepared for spoilers if you're not caught up. Regardless you can feel his passion for the story through his OP chapter breakdowns and discussions. I just bring it up to punctuate your point that the writers DO truly love this story, are fans and want it to be the best adaptation that it can be.

About Zeff's leg: the anime didn't go as dark, the live action showed him sacrificing his leg to eat it. Producers thought it was very dark for a children show. I hope you continue with the reaction. I'll be there with you

I don't know if they've told you... but Sanji's story in the manga is a little different!! In the manga, Sanji's debt to Zeff is better understood...since Zeff does not cut his leg with the anchor chain to save him from drowning... He gave him all the food when they were shipwrecked and Zeff went away eating his leg. The days went by.

7:55 the gum gum giant gavel in the original (this anime version) give more effect and smash feels w (in the remake of this arc was a bit meh personally) The theme of the determination are very strong, never give up! \°D°/ Gin was probably a minor character but he was likeable one, we never knew what happened after but it let in our imagination UwU And now almost at the final part of East Blue Saga, like you see they swapped Yosaku with Buggy in the live-action (lmao) but i really wanted to see them at that live-action quality a very shame that they cut them... 29:30 its the most emotional but also a popular meme scene (including the quote that are used often from many people when they graduate lol)

I think the English Dubbed did a better job at the scene of Sanji's departure. Though, the live action did have the "Keep your feet dry" line like the manga. The "don't catch a cold" in the subbed sounded too random in what's supposed to be a heavy scene. Lol

I am on chapter 1096 in the manga and caught up on the anime. This is just speculation to this point but I am still convinced (with NO evidence) that the hat is the actual one piece. Luffy continues to this point to hang on to that hat with all he has in him.

Just like you said at the end. The japanese voice actors are just crazy good at capturing the emotional beats. It is crazy. You just can't get the same impact with english dubs. At least I have never seen it. Also! You guys are NOT ready for Arlong Park ;) It is the best story in the east blue. Just how it is written is so phenomenal. Barratie is my favorite, because of all the hype moments and Sanji's backstory, but Arlong Park is just such fantastic story telling
