What I like about One Piece the most is the fact that it has an ever-growing world, and in turn it feels alive. There's always something happening throughout the world which ends up being important for the story. Oda is an incredible storyteller.
That's bullshit. Although this Akainu vs Aokiji was important, Oda just drags the story with useless nonsense just to keep the story going and optards go crazy.

Whammy Cheng Yeah especially since it’s stated they were close in power and the fight lasted 10 Days. Aokiji lost but he put up one hell of a fight so much so that Akainu was weakened and tired even after he won
Escanor As far as we know for Akainu and I think Aokiji’s lost leg was only in One Piece Film Z and the movies aren’t exactly canon at least I don’t think so, correct me if I’m wrong but still the fight was pretty brutal I’d imagine
I like how when luffy hears Akainu became fleet admiral he immediately touched his scar and actually pronounced his name correctly instead of giving him some nickname like Lava man or akai no he knows Akainu is dangerous and perhaps even is a bit scared of the dude himself at the very least he should have some nightmares
Luffy did not win against Kaido it toke a shit ton of people to actually damage Kaido The Scabbards, the Minks, The worst generation, Yamato, Luffy and Momo and finnaly it toke fucking Luffy To do something to finnaly beat Kaido all while he carried a damn mountain with his clouds which toke a lot of energy already kaido was heavily Damaged not to mention Luffy got a break during the fight to eat meat so no Akainu still stands a chance against Luffy especially if he is awakened
Sakazuki didn't initiate the Buster Call on Ohara, since as a Vice Admiral he didn't have the authority to do so, that was done by Spandine using Sengoku's authority.
Akainu was literally about to execute Coby. Coby literally just saw that the marines achieved their goal and were still forcing their own men to die or get injured fighting pirates who had lost their entire point of being there. I wouldn’t want him to be in charge either.

If they used their normal devil fruit powers it would not last long, the The ice in Marine ford, melted after 3 weeks(When luffy came back to ring the bell) but in Punk hazzard, even after 2 years the ice and molten still remained..Its obvious they used awakened devil fruit powers.
The idea of Aokiji and Akainu having an epic face-off lasting an entire 10 days which changed the climate of the island permanently is cool and all, but it's also super weird when you think about it. I mean, you would expect that in any normal organisation, ultimately the higher-ups would make a decision about who will become the Fleet Admiral, and that's that. So for example, Akainu is picked by the higher-ups and Aokiji decides to leave the Navy because he can't stand to be under Akainu. Which gives essentially the same outcome as the story. But instead the Navy allowed Aokiji and Akainu to have a fight to the death to determine who gets the position. Like who does that? If the higher-ups wanted Akainu for his more driven temperament and Absolute Justice, it's weird that they would allow him to be potentially killed by Aokiji, the less favoured candidate and then give Aokiji the position instead.
the higher ups are probably part of the world government and they probably thought that whoever lost wouldn't be worthy of being fleet admiral otherwise I don't know

I actually find it hard to think in any other method that could've stopped the tsunamis. The only thing that comes to my mind is Kuma repelling them with his powers, or maybe Mihawk slashing the waves to dissolve them.
I don't think it mattered much (Especially since there's no in-story proof of his devil fruit being at a disadvantage, only theories), since when he fights seriously Kuzan seems to be using little devil fruit abilities at all, depending on his strenght and haki instead. At least that's what he did against Garp.

Why would anyone hate Akainu btw? He killed Ace? Ace killed himself. He was the one who started that whole war going after Teach. He killed innocent people? Yeah that's a reason to dislike the character but not to hate because it's just an anime/manga. Nobody is really dying but people act like it's all real I just can't accept the idea of hating something that isn't even real. Seems so childish

@@coolgamer2964 A lot of people in One Piece are assholes, that's a theme about some of the characters which is what makes them great or interesting. Sakazuki is technically lawful evil though. I think Doflamingo is honestly more of an asshole than Sakazuki, he used his status as a Celestial Dragon and abused his title in order to gain power, and is a sadist who thought it was just all for fun. I still like them both.

And i think part of what makes One piece the best Manga in history is those mysteries and the opportunity to talk and talk about it for hours and hours, speculating what is happening and what is going to happen.
@@Elamado97 i completly disagree... Statistically speaking, it is the best manga. And recently it has been amazing, truth is that right now it's probably one of the best times to be an one piece fan. But ofc when you have 1100 chapters, there will be some boring parts in it, depending on the person.. Hell, even things like the titanic and lord of the rings have boring parts in them.. and those are just a couple of hours of content, not 1100 chapters. And then there will be some objectivly bad-boring parts, like the orochi stuff in the wano arc. And to be honest, i respect mangas like one piece and naruto much more than mangas like AOT.. Keeping the quality so high every single week is a lot harder than releasing 10 chapters every 3 years or something.

When two powerful warriors are seen fighting, it will last hours at most. But when we don't get to see it, it can last days. Ace vs Jinbei lasted 5 days Akainu vs Aokji lasted 10 days Kaido vs Big Mom lasted 3 days (stopping only to join forces)

WB bested Akainu in minutes though although he was old sick wounded, Akainu was fresh and waited till WB was almost at his end to fight him and still lost

Regat Kahsai Staats not necessarily. When shiki took on sengoku and garp he almost mortally wounded garp and sengoku was severely injured so considering roger was more powerful its not a far stretch for him to beat both
Aokiji losing is probably the best for the world. Imagine if Akainu lost and left the navy… he would be collecting pirate heads like crazy. Thats basically a yonko level character that isn’t laid back on some island but actively sailing around the world and killing pirates

It's likely because they kept it under wraps. Or if they didn't keep it under wraps and Kaido or Blackbeard didn't storm Navy HQ, then my guess is the admirals are probably stronger than we thought.
Man I just know Luffy vs Akainu will be a vicious fight. I like Sabo and I know they were the three amigos with Ace, but this has to be a Luffy-Akainu 1v1 fight with no breaks or interruptions.

Luffy will not fight Akainu. It wouldnt be consistent with his character. He doesnt want revenge. Sabo on the other hand blames himself for not being able to rescue Ace and is a Revolutionary too. Also he has Aces fruit. It would be poetic justice for Ace.
Vantastic Jackson eh it’s cause they’re at too high a level for us yet. The admirals are almost the same level as Yonko. Oda even said if Akinu was a pirate he would’ve found One Piece within 2 years. Well see fights of that level when Luffy is strong enough to fight at that level. Right now he gets one shot by Big Mom and struggles against pirates the admirals would probably wreck.

Poor kizaru was never even considered. Maybe because fleet admirals need to make quick decisions and the world would have ended by the time kizaru finishes his sentence.

Them fighting for 10 days shows of menacingly strong they are. Kaido and Luffy fought for one night and were f*cked up afterwards. In my opinion, oda is playing the admirals down just so shock us afterwards. It would only make sense for Akainu and Aokiji to be somewhere around Kaidos Level because Sengoku and Garp were also when they had similar positions
I agree with you entirely that’d be awesome to see a film where Ace sinks an island to prove his loyalty towards White Beard, or a film where Aokiji would fight tooth and nail to prove his loyalty towards Sengoku and reforming the Marnies into a better governmental facility.
The reason for aokiji want to battle akainu is still mystery, hidden deeper than one piece itself. He doesnt have passion but if he choose to stood up to fight akainu means something big will pose a threat in his perception
He actually has passion, just doesn't show it often but when he does, he goes all in (Like in Ohara, where he went directly against his orders AND disrupted a navy ship or 2 to allow Robin to escape). I wonder however why he's with (Spoiler!) Blackbeard. Did he become so disilusioned with WG, to the point where he wants a country of pirates to be created? Or is he working to destroy blackbeard pirates from inside out?

When you think about it, Akainu as the Fleet Admiral is way more make sense since compared to other Admirals, he is the most serious one. Remember Aokiji likes to take a nap everytime while Kizaru is..... always high.
Normally Aokiji will not want to be the fleet admiral. He's lazy and will definitely wouldn't want to be bothered with paper works but i guess he hated how akainu will command the Navy.
