None of these episodes so far have been filler. There is filler, but you don’t start running into it until Loguetown (some minor episodes here and there will be based on the manga cover stories- little bits of canon story about side characters that aren’t currently connected to the main plot, but if they existed in the manga at all, they are not considered true filler). Some of the characters and situations here aren’t as important as the main gist of the story, which is why the live action cut them out. But what it removed for efficiency, they lose in depth of character and world building. By taking the time to get to know the people and the world they inhabit, it makes the emotional impact of the tragedies and triumphs all the more rich and earned. I like to think of OPLA as a free sample pack. You get a nice taste of the series without any risk of investment (of time) but if you like it and want to be truly satisfied, watching the anime and/or reading the manga will be surely worth it.
As much as I want everything to be included in the live action, it only has 8 episodes which is 3-4 times shorter than what the anime covers. There's a LOT of characters that were cut BUT they did include cameos and easter eggs about them in the live action. My prediction, going forward, is you will like the anime (past east blue saga) more before live action S2 comes out 😊
You shouldn't read the titles, to avoid spoilers. Chu Chu actually is in the live action. He appears for a moment, running by the Mayor, when they bring the platter of food to Luffy. Ritchie, the lion was hinted at as well. Buggy tells the beast tamer that there was supposed to be a lion.
Love your reaction and thoughts on this episodes. Anyway, as you can see the anime/manga are indeed the wild version of One piece. They have to changes and toned down some things in live action, And i think they really did such a great job in live action. oh, there's no filler episodes in One Piece after later on.. and also avoid read the title, they mostly spoiler. What are you calling "filler?" You haven't gotten filler yet. Filler is stuff the anime/live action put in that isn't actually in the manga. The manga is "canon", in the anime there are "filler" eps in some places and some bits of filler in mostly canon eps.
Please forget everything about live action, it's just a series on netflix, not the real one piece story. i know, compared to other anime live action projects, one piece live action is probably one of the most successful live action adaptations. but it's not the original one piece. 😀
i think it will be really hard to acting like the real usopp. he just too iconic. maybe netflix need personality like Usop live action for entertain purpose.
Usopp is the character on the crew that's meant to be the most human. He can still tank a lot of damage and perform incredible feats we could never hope to achieve, but Usopp is who we are meant to relate to as viewers. It makes his dream much more sensible in the way that while certainly he has achieved it a long time ago, it's important that HE sees it. Any of us in that world be able to brag if we just made it to the Grand Line alone.
I love that you read the titles, titles are funny, please don't stop doing that. Everybody overreacts so bad with it, yeah they give you a little info, but nothing you didn't knew already, so they don't spoil. People just overreac.
