Welcome in friendo! I'm Tara and I am a variety streamer on twitch. Here we get to experience anime for the first time! I love reacting to things and really delving into "why" things are the way that they are. I love hearing everyones thoughts and opinions on the stories aswell! I have a background in VFX , Film and Animation so it makes it all the more fun!
Trust me when I say you are gonna wanna be here for this EPIC ADVENTURE! Feel free to hit that sub button to keep up to date on videos!
Honestly you reacted to most of the scene around the table at the end the same as me. I was just so focused on the dialogue and micro-movements of everyone lol
Oh, you noticed the sun on his chest? Impressive. I haven't... must have seen this episode like dozens of times. It means the story will get good hundreds of eps later.😉 It's all that can be revealed spoiler free.😝 PS: I only watch Peak Reactions. So I don't watch the live show or other episodes except a few of these early ones like these 2. One Piece starts with ep 227 and there starts my reactions watching too.🤷♂️
The pinwheel scene for me was emotional alredy... but then I thought that Genzo kept wearing it all those years, even during the time when he faked being angry at Nami. So in a way he was telling her that he still loved her even if he was "mad"
I know this is an old video but Canute absolutely had to execute Askeladd. That’s the way he set it up for Canute, to gain their respect by being the only one who could kill him during the rampage right before he takes the crown. It was literally the plan and you can’t be mad at Canute for picking up what Askeladd forced him into. If he hadn’t he would look like a traitor and likely be executed once rumors began to spread about his Vassal “going crazy.”
Aren’t you afraid of watching more?? You know by now how much better the anime is, but going further may have bad affect that instead of enjoying the Live action and then seeing things in more detail in the anime it could lead to disappointment when you see the anime first and then see how the Live action skips and doesn’t give attention to the stuff that you love.
The subtle dialogue between Hawkeye and Shanks is meant to imply that they were friendly combatants and considering the level of Hawkeye we can understand that Shanks is more powerful than he seems to fight against the strongest swordsman in the world today.
I actually got Nami's tattoo myself after watching this arc! Thankfully, I still had enough space in the same spot and same arm as where she put hers. Nami's story is what made me fall in-love with One Piece and stick with it the whole way thru so it only felt right to get that tattoo 😁
A fun little detail I like to point out is that Genzo took the pinwheel off his hat after entrusting Luffy and the crew with protecting Nami's smile, but also Luffy is from Windmill Village.
Nami getting a tattoo that combines the pinwheel that represents her father figure and the tangerine that represents her mother is so great and getting the reveal that the entire purpose of Genzo’s pinwheel was just to make Nami smile is so heartwarming
That's factually wrong. It was Luffy who asked him and earned his respect enough to get him to join when Nami had already run off, so at the very least, 0.01% of that should by Luffy.
A fellow reactor who is reading the manga only recently talked about this arc and commented that this story with Nami is when oda and one piece really show the reader the emotional depth that it can reach and that its not just a goofy pirate anime and i think you showed that emotion in your reaction.
Hi! I just recently ran across your channel this past week and thought I'd shed some light on the differences in the live action vs. the anime/manga (no spoilers outside of what has been revealed to this point in both shows). The Garp/Luffy relationship is canon, but is not revealed until much later in the anime. It seems like the reason they used Garp in the live action was to create this continuity that Luffy is actively on the run from the Marines but it wouldn't make sense for some random Marine to pursue a self-proclaimed pirate who is still trying to recruit the core members of his crew. Though the reveal in the anime is much more mind boggling, I'm not disappointed with the creative decision they took in using Garp in S1 of the live action. You noticed that Luffy's fights in the anime are longer than the live action but that appears to be more of a financial limitation. Zoro actually has the most fight scenes in S1 of the live action and that's most likely because whenever Luffy fights they need to use CGI to make him stretch which costs money. We'll have to see how they move forward with S2 as they introduce more characters.
I will never not enjoy seeing reactions to Episode 37. As others have pointed out, it is indeed, "the point of no return." After that, well, you can't help but to enjoy and continue the journey with this crew.
2 things about Luffy, he needs a reason to fight, and a reason to take someone seriously. He got his reason to fight Arlong earlier, now he finds a reason to fight seriously.
One of my favorite parts in this episode that many reactors glance over is when Luffy bites Arlong with the shark teeth and purposefully laughs like him "sha ha ha ha"
Preach! It's also why watching people react to the show is so heartwarming! Seeing someone share the attachment and investment I have for these characters is priceless!
"When they fight is it to the death" Oda has addressed this a few times. Hes not a fan of killing characters without a good reason. Hes also said that in the world of One Piece, crushing a person dreams/defeating their plans can be even more grueling than death. To avoid spoilers i wouldnt say more than that, all that really ever needs to be said is "Trust Oda".
