I went to Megacon 2024 in Orlando Florida and they had the first ever Anime x Live Action Panel featuring the voice actors from the Anime English Dub and the actors from the Netflix Live Action series.
@@nicolaskaito4769 I think he was jocking. I mean, I think he pretty much knows everything about buggy, since he said the director asked him to sit and talk about the character for hours, including things that were knot known yet in the east blue arc. However, he also said that he did not want to imitate anime buggy because he felt it would feel like he was copying the original voice actor and people would be dissapointed if he couldn't do it well, so he prefered to make his own version of the character, and so, as to not be influenced by the original voice actor interpretation, he decided to just read the manga. So whatever he knows about the story, he certainly has not watched the anime, more like read the manga. He does know about Impel Down, though, so he probably knows more about one piece than either Ussop or Helmeppo actor, since he seems to know much further on in the story.
If Jacob wishes to be part of a Lord of the Rings type fantasy story, he might get his chance. There are rumors of an Elder Scrolls TV Show, so he might get to play a Redguard.
Tysm for recording this!! I saw that this panel happened online, and immediately got super jealous of everyone who got to be in that room as a person on the opposite coast lol. Had my fingers crossed that someone would upload it for those who couldn't be there so I really appreciate it 😄
Dang I almost made a trip out to Orlando just for a autograph I was missing, If I'd known there would be a panel like this I would have actually made the trip.
It’s not a weird political question. African American or African Actors do not get such huge, pivotal roles as other races, especially ones that are attached to already established projects at least without stereotyping. Role models and representation matters and it’s ok that others see inspiration in someone that looks like them and has achieved their dreams. Let’s others know that they have a chance too, in a world that mostly against their success.
It seems that Luffy's English VA doesn't understand her character that she played really well. Luffy might be not that good in Intelligence aspects, but he excellent in emotional and physical. He can make people smile and comfortable around him. He can make strong willed person love, adore, or obey him. He is natural leader. He also have strong will and determination that he will not stop until he get what he wants. Man like that is destined to success in real life.
Colleen has been voicing Luffy since 2007. You really believe after almost 17 years she doesn't understand him?? She just approaches him differently from Iñaki and possibly Tanaka-san, in part because the anime plays up Luffy's dumbass qualities even more than the manga (which she rarely has time to read since she has a day job)
@@bromega2477 I don't know who that is, but I'd prefer Stephanie Young in a black wig, although at this point she may be too old for the part (then-29-year-old Emily Rudd pulled off playing 18, but a 51-year-old playing 28?)
