LMAO this is funny. But fr, tho, he can't even sense Vegapunk tweaked Kuma's programing a little. And not to mention, destroying things up might be easier than trying to hack into the best of the best database and system in the whole world.
The man just wanted to warn vegapunk to not try anything funny. Ofcourse he’s not going to check an insect’s body if his programming is tweaked or not. But yeah saturn hitting it with his stick was funny. Vegapunk fooled everyone of them. Great chapter.
Are we seriously giving him shit for that? Dont you know that every technological issue is fixed by smacking it with a big stick. It's a scientific fact!
I think it's a reference to how high ranking politicians have no competence in the areas they have auhtoritiy over You rarely see a secretary of health with an M.D. or even any health related education for example. The elders may be Gods of this and that but only in title. Saturn being bad with science despite being the supreme authority over it suits him
Mechanical Engineer with a nuclear specialization here. We actually do have nuclear fusion now, the problem is that it is stupidly hard to sustain. It is very complicated, but essentially, it relies on keeping plasma in a given location with very strong magnets. Problem is… that the plasma will be nearly as hot as the sun, and the magnets need to stay close to absolute zero. The strict heat transfer alone makes fusion very very had to do for a long period of time. If fusion was to actually be possible long-term, it would actually look incredibly similar to what Vegapunk has in his Lab. Oda really did his research here. Well done.
they’re actually set to build the first ever nuclear fusion facility here in washington where close to where I live i saw it on ifiber news i believe it’s close to mabton
To be fair, we do have to mention that fusion the way we do now is more of a proof of concept. The proof of concept will be good enough to power a very large portion of our energy consuption, but its not really scalable, and multiple fusion reactors will have a hard time breaking even financially. To get scalable (and thus, profitable) fusion, we need to find ways to basically make a miniature sun that sustains its own fusion. Which does require the proof of concept to work first.
The last thing Vegapunk says is so cool. We never really thought of Joyboy being anything but this hero of some kind from the void century, but to hear him say Joyboy was the first person to take to seas, the first ever pirate is so sick
You could say that, while roger started the great pirate era, joy boy actually started the entire pirate era in general as he was the first pirate at sea
@@sonofcronos7831 pirate for lack of a better word, could also mean viking for vikings were the original pirates, explorers, pillagers, whatever you want to call them
So who called him a pirate ? and why? in our world buccaneers were just pirates so he might have been a rubberboy doing bbq on his ship with the help of his friends, cooking fish with the mera mera no mi
A hard to notice detail is that Long Ring Long Land has indeed lost a bit of land from the extra meter, you can see the water at the bottom of the panel just barely there
If funny how in the past weeks a lot of people were saying that everyone knows about the flood and whanot, even the guy from long ling land. But we can see that is not the case.
Well they WERE trapped in the labyrinth. It's just some versions of the labyrinth depict it more as a large edifice than a flat single level maze. Daedalus designed the labyrinth, and may have indrectly aided in Theseus' escape from, hence punishment of he and his son (not just his buddy) Icarus by being banished to the prison he hinself had built
The single panel with the celestial dragon actually listening to the message and beginning to question what she’s hearing is so simple but so impactful. If this message is able to cause more of them to question why things in the world work the way they do and why they hold the power they do it’ll only help to unify everyone at the end of the story
i imagine some celestial dragons might actually change their ways, like the one from fishman island. And we have also seen 2 others being doflamingos dad and corazon who also don't think like the rest of them.
Good luck with that. I think even if a good portion of them revealed to be flower boys and girls who did nothing wrong in their life and want the BEST and ABSOLUTE BEST for everyone, like all around pure souls, they will not be given a free pass. They are all beyond saving. That faction is too tainted to allow any sort of redemption.
@@tuffnus1 well the reason they are how they are is because that's the way they brought up. If there were any newborn celestial dragons alive after the "revolution" then they would grow up to be normal assumably
*Anybody else think Water 7 is sinking the way it has been for so long is because it’s so close to Enies Lobby which just so happens to have a GIANT HOLE in it??*
@@juannaym8488There is some fundamental mechanism at play that is as of now unrevealed explaining that. Cause simple water displacement from mass effectively sinking into the depths doesn't seem like the entire reason. There has to be a bit more. At least my gut says, could be wrong.
There was a quote from a guy that worked at a nuclear power plant that got asked the question about someone swimming in the disposal tank. He was asked how long someone would survive. His response was: “Well probably less than a minute, but to be honest you probably wouldn’t make it in the tank. You’d bleed to death before that.” Nuclear facilities are armed to the teeth with automatic rifles and former military personnel as 24 hour security.
a nuclear fission powerplant, the motherflame is likely to be fusion. In a fusion pool, its more like you're stepping in a boiling pot. A fission pool, you can easily survive for YEARS. The pool contains minerals that will absorb 99.999% of the radiation. As long as you dont try to dive to the bottom of the pool you're quite fine.
Between doflamingos words, urogue and the theory of the world tree going to skypeia, I'd bet a lot we will be seeing the return of one pieces most underrated island.
I kinda wish the official translation of Doffy's line would be something like "Oh, where would the general populace go? They could take refuge on a mountain... or maybe can they get much higher?"
To everyone calling Vegapunk Naive, he was playing chess while the government was playing checkers ..... He had every detail planned and had accepted his fate. Absolute GOAT
The most emotional moment all of one piece will be when Brook reunites with laboon. When the piano cover of bink's sake(brooks song) plays there will not be a dry tear within the one-piece community
I highly doubt we’ll see that reunion. If we see it, it’ll probably be in a very intense situation where they can’t sit there and exchange pleasantries and kisses
I like how Oda's finally revealing a lot of information about the mysteries of the one piece world and how neatly everything falls into place. The world sinking, Joyboy being a pirate, it all makes a lot of sense and many people have predicted it with the context the story has given us and now it's all bearing fruit
I love the ambiance! You can Keep this blacklight going through all of the incoming Void Century reveal chapters, it gives the review a sense of unique identity and tone. Ominous and exciting, with a lingering reminder that this historical story will end horrifically. Do them at night 😄👍🏼
Actual nuclear scientist here: the rods are mostly uranium only a little bit plutonium. Also the radioactive water isn’t the water used to spin the turbine, that would irradiate the turbine. The water around the rods is superheated (under very high pressure so it can exceed the regular boiling point and not boil) and that water heats another water that actually boils and powers the turbine, otherwise tekking is pretty much on the money Edit: we can do fusion, we just can’t sustain it long enough to use it to make a powerplant
Ok, i did not know that some reactors use plutonium. I thought it is a side product of nuclear fission with uranium 238 as fuel. That is atleast the cheapest version. Than you have enriched U238 with a higher amount of U235 in it.
A&Mu is a joke to the japanese pronunciation of Atom. & is said as "To" and the "m" sound is "Mu". So if you say it out loud in Japanese, you read "Atomu" which is how you say Atom in that language.
So the Celestial Dragon doesn't know about Void Century? Maybe because Saint Shalria is still young, so she doesn't know about it yet? The other Celestial Dragon seems angry when Vegapunk mentioned void century.
They probably just know it's a law and like to get angry when their divine law is broken. Nobody is allowed to question them, so why would they question themselves?
Tekking, Im a Rad Tech at a nuclear power plant. If you swam in the fuel pool (above where the reactor is) you would be fine. Nothing would happen other than needed to take a shower to decontaminate yourself (and you'd get in a lot of trouble). In fact, people have fallen in fuel pools a few times. On accident, obviously. Now if you started swimmig way down into an open reactor in a SCUBA suite you would die. It all depends on how close you are
Right?! I thinking the same thing. It makes me wonder if some Celestial Dragons will reject their nobility once they learn the truth. Her being interested of all people is even more intriguing since her family are the main nobles the Straw Hats have come in contact with.
Nika's fruit perhaps? Probably not.. since Luffy ate it. Unless there was like a different one way back when that was like the "true power" of Nika or something
I think it has the same core concept it's an artificial desire/soul/emotions. It's the explanation why Kuma and the Iron giant can move. Why Luffy needs to replenish his energy after gear 5 and why devil fruit users drown. It could even explain why the Gorosei seem immune and why Luffy is struggling against Topman. No wonder Vegapunk asked Luffy about Momo's fruit it probably is the first step that led to the motherflame.
I would imagine the celestial dragons are taught revisionist history to make them believe they are meant to rule the world and were always the good guys
Love how mock town is definitely how people would act when they gave up on expanding and exploring. Perfect Oh can't wait to see what we learn about the void century and oda basically having vegapunk say it's only what he knows is perfect so robin can still go find the true history herself later on Yamatos journey will be cool to see the unexplored areas of wano
About Nuclear Power Plants: The cooling water and the water in contact with the fuel rods are separated. The latter is fully contained, while the cooling water is what comes out of the cooling towers and turn the turbines to actually generate electricity. Also, my prediction for the ancient kingdom's name is "Binks" or something like that. It would certainly give new meaning to the song, and even help explain why Roger called the island Laugh Tale, the last word of the song (in Japanese, at least).
Before it was said the sea level will rise, I thought during Yamato's cover story the walls for Wano will come down and Wano will be open. But I guess it still could work, just the walls won't be as high and they will need to have a drainage system.
The biggest shock of this chapter is that so many people are confused about the possibility that the celestial dragons don't know about the void century. The whole thing about the poneglyphs was that they couldn't be destroyed... it was always seemed obvious to me that this meant EVERYTHING about that time period was being destroyed and OF COURSE no one was going to be teaching the history to anyone (with very very very few exceptions)
Fun fact, every person living on the island of the minotaur and labyrinth was a cretin, which is why living in dumb, dangerous places is considered stupid.
"What would happen if you jumped in the water" is one of the most common questions we got when I was helping with reactor tours in college. The answer is "you'd get wet". The pools are pretty deep, you don't even feel heat coming off the water from the surface. Just don't dive down towards the reactor.
Dammit I've been waiting for this video all day, I came from my school and I'm like heck yeah this chapter is cooking really hard I can't wait for Tekking's video to drop. This is gonna be good
Things I wanna see in the future. Megellan and doffy duo going up to the holy land. Moria being the hero and everyone copying his island ship idea and save every island. How people will say kaido is the strongest still since hear 5th Luffy can't do a thing to a gorosei comparison wise.
About the first one, a porta potty needs to be invented first. Or him suddenly being cool w not needing a toliet, and literally shitting all over the holy land and any opponents
@@jointjutsukonan3074 he only needs to not eat poison food and he could go up to the holy land just fine. That's like being lactose intolerant and drinking milk all day
Is it normal for my only reaction to every episode you make is "whoa......" Also great job on your videos 🙂 I like how you go into detail about every panel and explain the possibilities of what things could mean instead of leaving the viewers to try and figure stuff out on our own. There's a lot of stuff in the story that I don't even remember that I wouldn't be able to connect to what's happening now so thank you for jogging my memory!
Vegapunk's announcement is turning out to be as big as Roger's. The whole world is there to witness it. Just from what he already said we can expect a lot of change but if he mentions Joyboy and how he relates to Laugh Tale - The One Piece - we may see an ever a second wind to the Pirate Era. Only that this time it won't be the ambitious and free spirited going out to sea, but the settled down and attached to all these places in great risk of flooding.
Jumping into and swimming in the pool of a nuclear reactor while the reactor was powered up would probably either boil someone or irradiate them to death, but if they somehow survived that they would most likely have radiation poisoning and/or get cancer which could also lead to the person's death if not properly treated. Also with the Mother Flame if I had to take a guess on what it is, I would guess that it is a fusion reaction with what's basically a miniature star in it producing the power.
I think with this chapter we've visited every single major location in the story during this message, plus a few extras. The only ones I think we’ve yet to see are Skypiea, Little Garden, and maybe Wano but they're all special cases. It's fascinating that Vegapunk makes mention of Icarus' wings because Vegapunk himself could've just as easily been inspired by Daedalus. It makes so much sense that Joy Boy would be the first pirate. Now I want to do research on who the "first pirate" in real life is. And I really hope in chapter 1115 we get people who know Luffy to make the connection that Joy Boy's ability sounds like Luffy's powers. Maybe even Luffy going "Hey that sounds like me". I really want the Mother Flame to either be a weird color like green or purple or be constantly shifting colors. But honestly, I think my favorite part of the chapter is Doflamingo making fun of Magellan for wanting to protect his precious prison. Is anyone else suspicious that they focused on Charlos' sister? I mean it looks like the regular Celestial Dragons don't even know the Void Century exists. Could she turn into another "good" celestial dragon? And I was so happy to see Saul again!
Nuclear power isn't as simple as dumping uranium in water. The idea is that you fire a hydrogen atom at specially prepared uranium (since not all uranium splits nicely). That uranium atom splits in two, releasing 2.5 (on average) atoms of hydrogen. Those hydrogen atoms hit the next uranium atoms surrounding the first one. This reaction keeps going, exponentially increasing until everything has reacted. You can slow it down by shoving a material that absorbs hydrogen into the reactor, but that's just controlling the speed of reaction. Each rod of uranium is designed to be gotten rid of asap if they start heating up too fast. The mother flame looks like it is eternally reacting with itself and not losing anything in the process. This is straight up magic.
Flamingo and poison guy would be a hell of duo. Filming at night to hide from the Sun God Nika? Suspicious and possible member of the Black Beard Pirates.
Ok, since we now have confirmation that the mother flame is in fact a power source, I think it’s a safe bet if not outright inferred that Imu has the last ancient weapon. So we could very well get a three way battle between them when the one piece is found. Which will be awesome!
It would be funny if Yamato immediately lost Yasuie's sword (or it got stolen), and the rest of the cover story was about him going through every region of Wano to get it back.
@@thesejokesarentfunnyyetthe9522 nah im transphobic. This is the one piece world. If someone wants to change your gender you have the hormone hormone fruit. No playing make believe.
28:14 XKCD did a video about this. Long story short, as long as you're not trying to swim to the bottom of the pool and touch the radioactive material, you're safe to swim around on the surface freely, IIRC up to like 5 feet deep.
Remember originally Oda had two classifications of pirates “peacemains” and the other more typical pirate. What if the ancient kingdom’s name is a variant of peace main?
I feel like the celestial dragons don't know what the void century is. We've seen a couple of celestial dragons defect like Homing did and Imu and the gorosei probably would've killed him immediately if he knew.
28:00 I used to work in nuke plants, its actually safe to swim in a reactor pool. The water stops the particles that can penetrate your skin. Swallowing the water would get you though.
For the nuclear power plant question, if you swam around in the top bit of the water you would be relatively fine, as the water that turns to steam is not the water that is interacting directly with the rods, this is not saying jump in your closest nuclear reactor, but you’d be more at risk of drowning than dying of radiation on the surface, or better yet the guards taking you out for breaking in.
Also don't pick up any strange looking rods that may be on the bottom of the tank if you're doing maintenance. One diver was lucky that the bucket kept them separated just enough from the rod that his radiation exposure was treatable
What if you swam in a nuclear storage pool? There's a video about just that on xkcd's What If? youtube channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EFRUL7vKdU8.html It's not exactly what Tekking asked, but still interesting.
I love how the first minute was just Matt messing with his lights I also noticed that Brook was shouting for Zoro and Jinbei to save them, Giant Spider demon, Zoro Jinbei please save us
tekking you know damn well as a fellow Pennsylvanian that mock town is just "insert any central Pennsylvanian city here" none of them would believe a natural disaster that scale would happen
I shuddered when I woke up this morning, saw stuff for this chapter came out and then saw I read it BEFORE Tekking made a video about this. Then of course I watched Marines D&D and had a nice day but GOD have I been anticipating this!
So my take aways from this chapter 1. Gear 5 needs a buff so he can hurt the gorosei and his goofiness is legitimately a problem because he can't take anything seriously 2. The mother flame likely originated on the moon
If lucci vs zorro happened then Doffy vs zorro could maybe also happen and this is an interesting to see what would happen to their fight since they did not yet meet on the battle field face to face
Charlos's sister could be a major antagonist. She hears that JoyBoy was a stretchy guy, remembers Luffy's mighty punch to her brother and the subsequent attack from his fleet to her brother and she might just decide that he's the scourge of the world and mobilize whatever super forces the CD have to kill Luffy.
Sooo, Sun God Nika is the deity that the people of Elbaf looked up to which manifested into a DF that Joyboy had. Him being the first pirate, one could assume that he created the One Piece (the legendary treasure). This treasure would have been considered only "usefull" if the world was flooded hence why Rayleigh/Roger mentioned that they werent ready yet. I still believe that Joyboy was an actual giant as well (hence the big Straw Hat at Mary Geoise/the scenes with Oars at Thriller Bark using Luffys DF abilities). The Straw Hats respresent crowns, Luffys and Joyboys - my theory is that Imu used to be the one who originally wore the Straw Hat of Luffy. And its quite interesting that the "common" Celestial Dragons dont know anything of the Void Century, which means they got brainwashed from the get-go. Wonder what they have been taught from a young age? This could be related to Whitebeards predicition of a huge war, imagine the Celestial Dragon finding out that their whole life was a lie, set up by the government? I assume that the Gorosei as well as Imu came in like Doffy when he overtook Dressrosa, they acted like the saviours pretending to help the world but were the bad guys all along. The whole world would go against Imu/the five elders, this is insane!
Dear Mr tekking101 You are my sunshine My only sunshine You make me happy When skies are gray You'll never know, dear How much I love you Please don't take My sunshine away
If there's corrosion in the spent fuel rod casings, there may be some fission products in the water. They do a pretty good job of keeping the water clean, and it wouldn't hurt you to swim in it, but it's radioactive enough that it wouldn't be legal to sell it as bottled water.
Matt maybe the celestial dragons don’t know what the void century is because they would never refer to it as the void century… maybe it’s free knowledge and just another era for them known as something other than the void century
@@serenno6045 weird thing is that i specifically remember him saying "yeah, shes confirmed female" after the vivre card came out, but for some reason he decided to switch up on it (even though we have an objective answer to the question).
