If the situation wasn't so serious, I would've found Spandam's reaction hilarious. Shows how well that Oda can make a funny goof-up into a dire situation.
And it all could’ve been avoided if he’d just checked which Transponder Snail was in each hand before blindly pressing one in a panic! Man went from giving an awesome evil speech about the symbolism of the World Government’s flag and power right before Sniper King just burned it down like a boss, to beating Robin bloody, to crapping himself as he finally realized he just Bustered himself in the span of a few short episodes! Hopefully Oda keeps Spandam this hilarious when he fully comes back into the story as part of CP0! Especially since HE works for Lucci now!
You forgot the funny part where he starts gloating about how the whole thing is actually a good idea, only to realise that he forgot the Den Den Mushi open, and and tries to imitate Luffy.

The only thing I like about Spandam is his reactions with something goes wrong. Examples: Pluton blueprints destroyed, Rocket Man crashes into the Tower of Law, Franky unhandcuffed Robin, Franky saying he will "blow himself up", etc.
He blamed cp9 for the failure of capturing Robin while also saying when he saw the threat he involed the buster call to deal with it. Manga even had a panel where Lucci threatened spandem when he leaned about his betrayal. CP 9 was fired and declared fugitives after this arc but wg made a deal with Lucci and kaku to work for them again
Spandom is exactly the type of person who would mistake a regular one with the golden one, how do u mess that up it’s literally made of gold so it has to be a lot heavier than a regular one, and it makes you wonder why the hell aoukiji would give him what is essentially a nuke trigger
that’s a good point I think it was said though the only reason aokiji gave him that was because he felt or was held responsible for robin being alive since he was the one that let her go. not that it makes his decision any less stupid lmao
@@jayh5840 ok but still a golden snail is heavier than a regular one right also they are completely different the golden one is more angular while the regular ones are more round and also since when do you press a button to activate a transponder snail I don’t think there is a single other transponder snail that is activated by pressing a button on top of its shell so either he did that on purpose or his iq is in the negative digits
Being the son of the man who ordered a buster call on Ohara will do that. Even the other CP9 were like "Why do we have to take orders from you, you're literally as weak as a marine mook."
This is the most uneventfull shit ever! Like. This dude can blow the whole fucking place up, you expect it to be in a grand setting, but it happens at the most stupidly random time! Making it even more memorable!

The way he makes crazy mental expressions or when he beats Robin is very similar to Ren , Ren was also an aggressive sadistic demented psychopath who enjoing in the suffering of others + look at Spandam's nose it looks a lot like Ren's nose :) Ren and Spandam are money hungry and would do anything for power , And the way I see it, spandam also likes to call others idiots a lot I think Oda toke some inspiration of the Ren and Stimpy show .. The term mentally ill face is very similar in both of them, Ren always do such sick faces also like Spandam

Yes he is funny, & not gonna lie, he had me dying when Kalifa (who I also hate) called out "sexual harassment" on him, just for saying her name. I also was LMAO when he accidentally pressed the golden den den mushi, & tried to play it off as if he was Luffy! Still, he's a bigger asshole than the world nobles. The world are sociopath; they don't believe what they are doing is wrong. Spandam knows what he's doing, & seems to be enjoying himself as he beats the living shit out of that poor girl!
@@Alegost1 Kizaru probably would've done the same, too. Akainu, on the other hand, would've never gave Spandam the authority to use a buster call. Akainu would think to himself... _"Should I really give this dumbass the power of a buster call, especially if it's in the palm of his hand? Yeah, I'll pass."_
The fact that there is a near total lack of doujins featuring Spandam and Robin during this story arc is proof that there may be a merciful god after all.
Kaku disappointed me. I was so heart broken to see that he was a villain! He looked better as a hero than a villain. Although he isn't bad as a villain, I just would have liked him fighting beside Paulie. :(
@@moonie1825 , if he done the Strawhats a favor then he would have made the Thousand Sunny for the Strawhat Pirates the minute they showed up on Water 7, but since Franky was the person that built their ship for them Pre-Enies Lobby and Post-Enies Lobby then just further proves that a criminal was an objectively better shipwright than the CP9 Agents which further proves Usopp’s viewpoints that none of the CP9 Agents should have been trusted at all.

One think I don't get - do the Marines have GPS? How'd Marineford know the Golden Snail was pressed on Enies Lobby? What if Spandam needed to initiate the call on another island?
Well, the snails can talk to each other through telepathy. Maybe when the button on the golden den den mushi is pressed, it tells the silver one its location. Then the silver den den mushi sends an alert and says the location of the golden one.
Probably not because it's considered the ultimate weapon of the Marine and If someone for some reason actives by accident or because a joke he would be serioulsy penalized.
