9:42 One of the most iconic scenes of in one piece. Oda kept redrawing this scene in the manga until it made him cry. Plus Nami's voice actress did a phenomenal job delivering the lines. This scene defined luffy's character, he never cares about your past, but once luffy makes you his friend, he will protect you till the end. This is one of the parts that made me seriously love one piece

This is the episode we see about Luffy's personality. He doesn't want to know your past, No matter what you did or what happened to you, whatever the reason... Once you're his nakama, he'll gladly give his life for you. The only thing you need to do is ASK. (like Nami finally did)

Jerry use his friend's as meat shields, Nami does everything she can first before relying on others. Nami more of a man than Jerry.

For someone who’s watched quite a few anime’s how does jerry not understand the concept of burdens and honor. She’s literally 7 million berries away which she can get with one more run and has been working so hard to free her village. She realized she loved the straw hat pirates throughout the time but that doesn’t matter because they don’t understand her burden and it’s not their job to. Why do you think luffy didn’t want to hear Nami’s backstory. Because it wasn’t his place to help unless Nami told him too. One piece is great bc it recognizes that the life of a pirate is not a glamorous one; but, in a world where the world government is so controlling and backstabbing, it may be the only path for true freedom. I mean, in Luffy’s backstory the actual pivotal moment was shank’s crew member blowing a random mountain bandit’s brains out from behind for simply threatening shanks. It wasn’t by any definition an honorable mode of defeating an enemy, but it showed luffy that was the life that even and seemingly honorable pirate has to deal with, and if he wants to be a pirate he needs to expect that can happen to him and those he loved

You see them getting more and more invested into the story and the strawhats, and to imagine they are only at episode 37, I'm having fun following your journey, even yall put out 1 reaction a day.

Jerry, Nami cared about them enough to not try to use them as attack dogs and potentially die for her, but also did not know them well enough to trust them with the info of her plan or know that they could possibly beat arlong. It’s as simple as that.

I get what Jerry is saying on the fact that you shouldn’t put your trust in Arlong’s word knowing the type of person he is. BUT she was 10 years old and saw her mother beaten and killed and a friend of the family sliced and diced in front of her eyes, so of course she would agree to a deal that could possibly lead to the freedom and safety of her friends and family no matter how long it takes or how ridiculous it seems. Also, she is unaware of the true power the Strawhat Pirates have at this point in the story cause she’s only been with them for 2 months, so she doesn’t want to involve them in a deadly battle. Lastly, she isn’t sure if she can put her faith in them yet because they have a new friendship.

i love this realization when the show really gets into the darker side with Nami's backstory and this whole arc. Especially since I'm caught up and I know the backstories and other arcs get even darker. Like One Piece has some issues because they stretch things a little too long sometimes (like one fight lasting 20+ episodes) but the story is so frickin good! The characters, the growth you see in them and the strengths develop! Watching their dreams inch closer throughout the series. I love it. And yes. Luffy is 100% that character who will never turn his back on a friend in need. He is loyal to his crew to an incredible degree.

I love that scene where Luffy puts his hat on Nami after she stabs her arm. Because Nami finds out in the Buggy arc that this hat is his treasure and by him putting the hat on her in that moment he's telling her that she is his treasure and it's just so great.

He defeated one of the strongest fishermen, attacked Arlong and did not let that man be killed, went with all to avenge Us. He left Zoro, but it's not because he's a bitch. It's made for humor, not because it's bad. Add all the mugivars to the initial song, it's a shame there is already Sanji, although he came later to the team. In theory, Nami joined the fourth in the team, and not the second. Second Usopp, then Sanji and she. If you review the initial series, you will understand, she said she will travel with them temporarily, she is not their nakama. Rob is angry, the way he hates Zoro is just a hand face, double standards, hypocrisy. I also don't understand why everyone considers Luffy the strongest in the team, for me Luffy and Zoro are the same in strength, and then Sanji.

This show never goes down. From starting of first episode it only goes up and up. This adventure is nothing like anything. It's far better that anything you ever see. For me I catch upto the show in just 16 days. That's how much this show is awesome.

When they said that a fisherman is 10 times stronger than a man, they didn't mean that Arlon is 10 times stronger than Don Krieg, and the fact that the average fisherman is 10 times stronger than the average man! either raise taxes or kill the villagers, or kill Nami, adoptive mother Nami sacrificed herself for her daughters to live. Imagine she refused and was killed a couple of minutes after their mother died. Victim in vain. Luffy lost to Don Krieg , if they fought one on one and there was no one around, only them. Luffy fell into the sea, he died, he himself will not get out, plus also an iron grid. And Don Krieg stood up opposite, he lay on the ground for some time, sec. 5, but he stood up. He got a knockdown and was able to fight. His men, the crowd, could not restrain him. He was knocked out, finished off by his right hand. We didn't see how strong Luffy was, she left before Don Krieg and Luffy fought. And Buggy's too weak for Arlong. Plus, why take risks, Luffy's chances of defeating Arlong are 50 percent at best. If he loses Arlong will kill all the villagers and Luffy with the team. DS correctly noticed, We have one step left, only a couple of million. She didn't know Arlong would betray her, he promised her. She's one step away, one sortie, and she's gonna collect that couple of million.
