Never stop explaining cards, especially in the new formats. You're saving me time from pausing your video and looking for the effect myself. I rather have you say a mistake and THEN correcting it than not explaining it at all. It makes learning the card much easier, and is similar to learning in class when you think you're right and then realize you're wrong.
I think the right play, knowing that an Amaru was probably the next play for the opponent, was to use 1 Tsuru to -2 cost Hody Jones, and then Perona effect to -1 cost, making Hody Jones 4 cost. Then playing Ryuma to KO it. But the real missplay, I think, was to hit life with Brannew. It's not really worth getting an Yellow leader in 1 life until a turn where you can go for Lethal. You will be vulnerable to an Amaru or C9 Yamato by doing that.
I feel like the right play at 14:37 would be for perona player to seing 6k with lead into Yamato lead, then play 1 tsuru minus hody jones to 5, use lead to minus hody to 4 play ryuma + borsalino.
Would you say Brannew is really good for Perona? I somehow think having Inuppe and Sabo is better as you draw 2 and Trash 2 but you decide what goes. Helps with Brickhands. With Brannew in Perona I feel like loosing Doffy or Gecko just feels bad as you need to drop them to trash. I love the ability of Perona and want to go main the leader and gather as many thoughts as I can. With those double influences I feel like with searchers you always lose out on something. I play two Baby 5 to get Doffy if I don't have it at all. 1xOP06-021 4xOP04-031 4xOP05-030 3xOP05-034 4xOP06-036 4xOP02-114 4xOP03-079 4xOP04-083 4xOP06-082 4xOP06-086 3xOP06-092 3xOP06-093 4xST06-006 3xOP05-037 2xOP02-117 That's my current state
I do like Sabo and Innupe more honestly, because like you already said, you are losing potential options with dual "type" searcher setups. Have you tested it? How has it worked for you?
Yamato was broken, and then they put out onami, well can’t say any of this was surprising, persona was doing so much and seems like a fun deck, Yamato was like would be a shame if I got even one attack through
@4:56 I can't believe people missplay like that at a "major tournament" as you called it. It's fine if you don't know a card, just read it. Resting Rosinante does absolutely nothing if you plan on going after Baby 5 anyway and establishing a 2k counter as a 3cost 3k body just seems like a bad play. So for me it looks 100% getting caught off guard by Rosinante's effect (especially as they look at it AFTER it saves Baby 5 with it). Not to hate on anyone. Nobody is perfect. From the videos I've seen in tournament play, this is not a rarity however. Kinda curious as to why that is.
