Academy (to my knowledge) has nothing to do with fighter jets. To fly a jet you need to win a pilot slot, then you have to go through 1 year of pilot training. Then if you are good enough, you get to learn how to fly jets.
In the academy it's just college. There are programs where you can fly gliders but most people who go to the academy don't become fighter pilot they do other stuff. After you graduate then you can go and earn a pilot slot
