seeing the censor at the start made me think the twist was that we just had no idea who was who. That'd be a really fun twist - just not telling the viewer who's who and changing player nunber after each game, and having them piece together who was who.

To get the missing characters you have to go into the vault on the main menu and there is a little door at the bottom right corner that allows you to unlock the characters you haven’t gotten
