The soothing way ,you explain what you are doing and the pace in which you do it,is so very appreciated. Have never watched an artist to be so giving of their time ,as you are. Just praying you have lots more,so thank you from the bottom of my heart.♥️ 😊
Hi April, just had to check with you on making the petals of the Daisy, your thr greatest teacher, what ya doing in your life, still teaching? As someone new to the world of painting this is a wonderful tutorial! My new years resolution last year was at the young age of 50 to learn to draw and paint. I never took art in school because I couldn't even draw a decent stick figure so I was afraid to even try. But now I have decided its way past time I learned to do this. I went out and bought all sorts of art mediums. Pencils of all kinds, water color, acrylic and oil paints. But I thought I would learn to draw a little first, so now I realize you can do anything if you put your mind to it :) I am now ready to take on the paint brush. I have a long way to go but with great videos like this one I know I will have painting, and drawings I will be proud to show off. Thank you for showing me how I can create a beautiful daisy in simple strokes!!
+glenda callahan Hello Glenda, With practice, it does get easier. I also have a 10 lesson course on Curious.com. Great website with great classes. Thank you for watching. Good luck. You can also go to OneStroke.com for supplies and books.
This was wonderful. I love the brush techniques and picking up 2 different paints to create light and shadow. The paint medium was something new to me. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. Painting is sooooooo therapeutic!
Hi April, I just wanted to say that you have the most amazing tutorials for painting flowers. I watched your rose and it wowed me. These are one of the best flower tutorials I've ever seen. Thank you so much for taking the time to illustrate how you paint flowers. Absolutely stunning. You are an amazing teacher. :-)
Hello Debb, Thank you so much for your comment. I'm hoping to do another one soon. I teach a lot of classes and it's sometimes difficult to find the time. Thanks again. : )
April Numamoto I am looking forward to your future tutorials. You have a wonderful way of explaining exactly what you are doing. You have a very calm and soothing voice that makes it easy to follow your directions. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.
Hey April, just started painting and i've chose acrylic to do so. I saw your video and followed your instructions and the result is amazing. The reactions i've got went from "you did not do this" to "where have you bought this" ,so you can imagine i was very happy with this. The way you explaine the techniques and the way you show these made it possible and got me hooked on painting. Thank you very much for this, Ben from Belgium
THANK YOU, APRIL! YOU ARE SO GENEROUS TO EXPLAIN YOUR FLOWER SO CLEARLY!! YOU ARE REALLY THE BEST. I HOPE YOU WILL POST MORE. I ADMIRE YOU, YOU ARE SO SOFT, SO CLEAR,...! PLEASE! GIVE US MORE FLOWERS!!
Thank you so very much for this wonderful video and explaining everything so clearly and a way I can understand how to paint these daisies!! Omg.. I’ve been looking for over a year for someone to explain the strokes and steps of flower petals and daisies!! THANK YOU!!! All my paintings are flowers so this really helped me !!! I Thank God for sending me your way !!
I'm so happy to have found your videos. You are an excellent instructor. I haven't painted in 20+ years, I've been afraid to try again? After watching a couple of your videos, I feel confident that I can do this again!! Thank you for the opportunity to try once again an art I was once very good at doing. I feel as if I've gained years back once again. Now if I can just figure out how to find more of your videos...
I love your teaching method! I’ve been struggling with double loading, and one stroke. 15 minutes after watching you I paused and tried the leaves and it just clicked. Much more practice is needed but I’m feeling it. Thank You!
Very happy to have discovered your videos! You have a very calming manner and very clear instructions - thoroughly enjoyed the daisy video and also the bamboo. Thank you so much!
beautiful work your teaching makes it so easy for an 80 yr old and I just love yr soft gentle voice never learnt painting but I seam to manage in ample things never looks like yrs thank you
She is a very excellent teacher. Thank you forgiving forth a fountain of ideas for those who are beginning , as well as for those who paint everyday of their lives.🌹
Thank you for this - my grandmother that raised me was incredible with a paintbrush and I always wanted to paint like her. Since she passed away, I have had this overwhelming urge to paint - but I was not blessed with the creativity that y’all have. You are a fantastic teacher, I think I’m going to try to paint for the first time in many years!!
I used acrylic paints but oil paints will also work. If you're using oils, use brushes that have a nice chisel edge and a medium that will thin out the paint a little.
It seems to be really easy to paint. Thank you for such a detailed video. It's inspiring me to try.) You're definitely marvellous! I think I've just found one more favourite channel.^^ P.S. I can't believe that there are people who dislike it.. Absolutely impossible!
I used to paint a few years ago and then I had a stroke Your video has inspired me to take up a paintbrush again. Your paintings are wonderful. Thankyou. Teresa
I hope you're doing better. Keep painting! It's great therapy, especially for people who have had a stroke. It helps with your motor skills and it's great for the mind. It's doing what you enjoy that's important. Thank you for watching.
It will take some practice but this one is good to start with. I hope to do a video on leaves soon. It's one that people are having trouble with. Thank you for watching.
You make painting look so easy. I love this Daisy picture. In fact for the first time in mega years I am going to try to paint this today. I’m so glad I found you here as I love 🌸 🌺 🌹 flowers and 🍉 🍎 fruits 🍌 I will need to practice for sure as it’s all in how steady I will be able to hold my brush- You have such a graceful technique in your painting 🖼
Today 25/08/2023 and I come across with your video after 10 years you posted. Absolutely amazing work and you are a great artist and teacher. Thank you for the inspiration, with love ❤️ from Australia 🌏🌸
You are so talented and an excellent teacher. Your explanation, speed of process, everything is excellent! I am trying to figure out how to paint zinnias on a wooden sign for my mom’s birthday, and I will definitely watch more of your videos to figure it out! Thank you for sharing your talent and wonderful teaching skills.
I just needed to tell you that you have an excellent teaching style that works for me. I am a beginner and I started back in January 2016 and this lesson was a big "ah-ha" moment for me! It just helped things click! Thank you so much!!!
I'm so happy I found this video. In highschool (almost 30 years ago) I loved art, but I never learned which brushes did what. I like how detailed you are in explaining how to paint the daisy. Thank you.

MAGIC! What a great tutorial. Many thanks for sharing your incredible talent. Your teaching skills are a real plus. You make the learning process a joy.
You know I would really like to apologize for the thumbs down, I just can’t wrap my brain around it, it’s absolutely cruel. They must really hate their lives. You are spending your free time teaching masses of people who many have no money to take lessons. I am so sorry that this has happened. Xoxox
Hi April, Loved your instruction. Your have a very pleasant voice too. Just learning this technique after looking for an instructor for just over two years. Have had a very enjoyable time painting. Your You Tubes are great. Thank you for your time. Look forward to more of your instruction...
This is a really well done video! I agree with some of the other comments that you do a great job of explaining exactly what you're doing. So many of the others go so fast you can't tell what they're doing. I also like that you say what kind of brush you're using. Thank you for such a thorough tutorial! 😊
