Watch April Numamoto, a Master One Stroke Certified Instructor, paint a beautiful rose project using the One Stroke painting technique. You will see the various strokes used for the rose petals, leaves and tendrils.
I've been following many of the one stroke teachers. And by far, you are the best teacher I've come across. You take your time, showing step by step how to make the strokes you are teaching. In addition, you mention: the type of paint, the colors, the name and number of the brushes being used. All these things help tremendously. Thank you!
I have a cousin that's a professional artist, and I've been painting ever since I was 10. I've gotta tell you, that's the best way of painting a rose I've ever seen.
The medium will help the paint glide easier on the surface. If you are painting on a surface that is slick and non porous, then you don't need the medium.
April Numamoto I think your volume is fine. If I needed it louder, I could always turn up the sound on my computer. I enjoy the nice soothing volume of your voice; especially late at night when the last thing I need is loud, rapid speech or zippy music. I am watching at that time to relax and enjoy as well as to learn.
I have a question, if I paint a nice coat of acrylic all over my surface (such as cardboard or watercolor paper) would it be possible to paint with this technique without using the medium? I can't find in in any store in my country
Watching this was an experience. I was awed the entire time... I've never been to art school or even taken an art class but I just really wish I could be as talented as you are someday...practice makes perfect, right?
Rodina Abdelkader Thank you for watching, Yes, it does get easier the more you practice. I don't think I have talent but have practiced enough to make it look easy. You can do it too. Thank again.
M(r)s. April, your videos are wonderful! I am primarily a digital painter with photoshop, but I love taking breaks and going back to the traditional way of painting sometimes. I have been watching a lot of instructional videos- Bob Ross, Bill Alexander, and the other assortments on youtube to get inspired and lean new techniques. Your videos are very clear and concise. I had watched other one-stroke paintings and many of them never showed how they put the paint on the palette. thanks!
Love love love your tutorials, April! Wow you have a God given gift for painting, & teaching. Please pleeeeeaaaasssse show us some more! Sending love & light your way.🌹🎨😊
I'm just starting to paint and watching these kinds of amazingly helpful videos really makes it all a lot easier on the psyche. Thank you, I love your work :)
I used to paint one stroke roses pretty well three years ago, but can't paint now. You have really motivated me today to paint. Will try to paint again. Thank you very much.
I absolutely love your videos. I am a beginner as far as acrylic paint is concerned, and my favorite thing to paint is flowers, but I could not for the life of me figure out how to do a rose for the longest time. Your videos are the ones that finally helped me to achieve what I had been working for. I love how detailed oriented you are and how you explain every minute facet of what you’re doing. It really helps with the learning process. Thank you for your mentorship to all painters out there!
Thank you Elizabeth for your kind words. I'm glad the videos are helpful. The more you practice, the easier it becomes. Thank you again for watching. Happy New Year!
I love watching you paint April. I've been trying to learn one stroke from books & tutorials & YOU by far have been the most inspirational. You're easy & complete directions have given me hope that one day my brush too maybe swirling & flowing with the same ease. Thank you for your relaxed & informative style.
Thank you so much for sharing your skills April. I used to be a signwriter and recently have had to learn several painting styles quickly :( and you are helping me to learn the one stroke painting style with your very good teaching methods. Thanks again. Steve
Wow! Just amazing.... Your work is so incredible and beautiful and your teaching technique couldn't be better. And even your voice was very soothing! I am beyond impressed and I will work at perfecting my rose like yours is. Thank you so much for posting that video!
I'm sorry i didn't reply sooner. I must have missed this one. The technique called One Stroke painting, you don't have to be an artist or know how to draw. If you load the brush correctly with paint, the brush does the work. You can go to OneStroke.com to get more information. Try it! And I didn't major in art.
