No, it is of no use . It`s revolving garden stool .

We can graft on the bottom part of the adenium. I did it and got successful result.

You should not try it.It`s a mature plant. Growth is very slow.

Here I used garden soil for nutrient and moisture retaining ( this garden soil is specially treated and rich in organic matter ) , styrofoam for drainage , charcoal for drainage and moisture retaining and some brick chips for drainage .I do with ths combination as I do not have any perlite. I think the best combination is 50% perlite + 20% soil + 20% coir + 10% Brick chips / rock /charcoal.

Any month except winter ( adenium`s dormant period) and rainy season(risk of fungal attack is high). Use moistened potting mix and you need not water . Only keep the medium moistened . Apply full water when new shoots appear.

Thanks for watching. Roots grow to support the plant as well as to feed the plant . The discarded part has nothing to do in both cases . So it will not grow roots. It will be rotten. 3/4 months to shoot the updates . You may check other uploads on the same topic with updates.

I saved the bottom root portion I cut from the main plant I think it will grow steams eventually. I mean... why wouldn't it? 🤷

I am continuing pruning in peak summer days . caudex gets wrinkled and softened for (i) lack of watering ----remedy : water the plant. (ii) rotting ----- remedy : Stop watering - Cut off the rotten portion and apply fungicide and wait to survive if possible.

Hi Camper ! 3 months is enough time for a healthy active plant. Any time of the year except winter ( adenium`s dormant period) .Avoid rainy season if possible because chances of fungal attack is high during this time.

Use very slightly moist medium and sprinkle water after 2-3 days just to keep the medium moist.

There may be 2 factors. 1. December is cold and your adenium was in dormancy.2. Your hanging period was too long to survive for the adenium. This does not mean that adeniums can`t be dried in shade for a month. But it depends on the plant`s health as well as on the weather.Anyway, I guess your plant still remains in dormancy.Then wait and let the plants be active naturally . Hard pruning on matured / final plants is not recommended because matured plants are not as active as the young grown up plants.

Size does not matter. Cobsider the age and growth. If the caudex turns grey You should not do this because growth is slower. Caudex looks greenish means the plant is still in growing stage.

Thanks for watching. Nice question. The piece of thermocol is put to conceal the lower portion of the root to prevent the vertical roots to grow. You may use anything else instead of thermocol as I used in other videos .

Thanks for your comments. As for potting medium : Three things are to be considered 1. Well draining 2. Moisture retaining and 3. Nutrient. I used brick chips , Styrofoam and coco coir - all are well draining particles. Coco coir retains moisture less than coco peat . I also used garden soil rich in organic matter ( specially prepared - uploads will come ) for supplying nutrient and sand for growing roots . If you use coco peat and fine graded soil and apply over headed irrigation your medium will soon become compacted and soggy . Coco peat also retains more water and decomposes fast . So coco coir is better than peat. Now let us formulate a mixture :1. Well draining 50% +2. Moisture retaining -20 % +3. Nutrient 30% Materials :for 1. perlite , gravel, brick chips, sand, styrofoam , coco coir * for 2. coco-coir * , peat moss . for 3. Garden soil for organic grow , NPK 13;13;13 etc for inorganic .( Keep in mind that coco coir drains water and retains moisture ) Now fix your own composition with materials at your hand and once you are fixed over 90 % of adenium problems are solved . Your last query : Yes this is the 1st step for just growing radial roots . In 2nd step the roots will be trained --- follow uploads . Go ahead . best of luck .

In winter adeniums go in dormancy .They should be treated as cacti . May be they receive different treatment and the dormancy is broken . Besides, I`ve heard of some new and improved cultivars that bloom round the year .

If it`s root rot, it`s better cut off the root , apply fungicide, dry for some days and repot .

I think you should not. You may use isopropyl alcohol. It`s available in any medicine store.

Don`t water for 5-7 days if any major root is cut. Keep the plant in bright shade. Sprinkle water on the branches and on the soil after 5-7 days and from then keep the soil always miost . Water when new shoots appear.

It`s obesum.

Plants may die for causes of death not for this procedure. Strictly maintain watering. I`ve no experience of death following this process.

Coarse builders` sand. Sand gravel is better.

Don`t put the cutting to soil just after cutting . Dry for 24-48 hours.

Sand will drain out with water. I have to add more later on .
