One Tree Hill S7E10 'You Are a Runner and I Am My Father's Son' REACTION 

I thought this part of the storyline didn't make sense Nathan and Haley had no right to get mad at Quinn or Clay they both deserve to be happy with each other

This episode annoyed tf out of me cause attacking Quinn and Clay was so dumb. I forgot how insufferable some of these characters can be 😂 the writers tried it.

I understand where Nathan is coming from. Is it a bit aggressive? Sure but I think it comes down to multiple things adding up with Clay that made Nathan mad. Him telling Clay to stay away from Quinn was only after Haley was arrested and Clay couldn't be reached because he turned off his phone when he was w/ Quinn (who btw is still legally married). Nathan who doesn't know Clay's history about his wife's tragic death, only knows that Clay sleeps around. He's thinking hmmm maybe it's best that my playboy of an agent doesn't get involved with my MARRIED sister in law especially since it's interfering with him doing his JOB. Now in regards to the contract negotiations, I get Clay thinks Nathan deserves better than what was offered and that's sweet, but at the end of the day he didn't do his job because the Bobcats for some reason were able to sign someone else without Clay even knowing about it. I'd be pissed too if I were Nathan. And I think seeing Quinn added to the anger because the last time Clay was with Quinn he couldn't be reached and now this time Nathan is without a job. If it were another girl that he saw with Clay both times he was distracted I'm sure he would've still fired him because he's not doing his job. Now of course Clay should be able to have a personal life, but he's Nathan's agent first and he has a job to do and when he doesn't do it, he's going to get fired regardless of who he's with. I don't think Nathan gives a crap about Clay and Quinn being together as long as it doesn't interfere with his career which right now in Nathan's eyes seems to be the case. Later when the contract stuff is resolved Nathan is actually chill about them being together and is happy for them. Haley on the other hand, is supporting her husband cause she knows how much this means to him and how long he's worked for this. Does she come across as judgmental? Yeah, but Haley always acts like that so what else is new? I honestly think this was just a lazy side plot to get viewers to support Clay and Quinn being together.

lets play devil'S advocat here. so apprently nathan and david have a friendly relationship maybe even are friends. i dont think it is that weird for him not to want his other friend to date her when they just sepperated and arent even divorced yet. on top of that in that situation i dont think nathan was mad sepcifically because of them dating. he was lashing out and clay did turn his phone off during contract negotiations and was blind sided by nathan getting replaced. that is actually a bad look ngl. thats the best i can do

I sort of get why Nathan and Haley are so mad at Quinn and Clay at this point. I honestly think it had to do with Naley knowing Clay's tendency to just sleep around. I think it comes from sort of protection for Quinn.

Haley acts horribly during this episode. I understand that her and Nathan barely got out of the "love child scandal", but the way she's coming after Quinn is so uncalled for. Her sister was by her side through it all, but yet Haley gets judgmental and pissy out of nowhere. She annoyed me so much during that storyline.

Well, I get both sides here. 1st Its an agents job (in an ideal word) to get exactly what the client wants. If its money... he should negotiate the most money possible, no matter the team. If its a long contract, an agent should negotiate the longest possible deal out there... Or (like here) if it is just a deal with one specific team, short contract, underpayed, doesnt mater... get the deal done. If you cant, agents get fired (Westbrook for example just fired his 10+ year agent). He didnt, and even worse... TURNED HIS PHONE OFF and dint even know the deal was off the table. So if I were Nate I would fire him for that alone. No matter who he was with. Him chilling with any girl while Nathans career is on the line... totally unaccaptable. Now the other side. They are clearly more then just a client and his agent. They are close friends and Clay just wanted the best for him. So he should get the benefit of the doubt. Listen to him why he did what he did and what he plans to do... and Nate has NO business in who Clay is dating. If anythinh Haley should be the one ripping on Clay. So fiering him on the spot... for that reason? No, thats just not right.

The writers really seem to not know what they're doing with some of these characters. I loved Haley in every other season but season 7, they really just didn't know where to go with her and she got irrationally angry at the weirdest times when normally she's pretty calm and laid back. I sort of understand why Nathan didn't want Clay to be with Quinn, as he has a pattern of being with a bunch of different women and he probably didn't want his sister-in-law who just left her husband to get hurt. But being mad at Quinn makes no sense, other than the fact that they turned their phones off which is why Clay couldn't save Nathan's contract. They both just overreacted for the wrong reasons and got mad when it really wasn't that deserved. I'd be mad that he turned his phone off to be with a girl and lost the contract, but not about the fact they're together to begin with.

even her dad and brother couldnt tell her what to do... shes a grown ass woman. lol Nathan and Haley were obnoxious as hell in this episode.

"you seem selfish" Haley says to Quinn as if SHE HASNT BEEN AT HER NECK ABOUT DAVID AND CLAY SINCE SHE GOT IN TOWN BECAUSE OF HER OWN UNSOLICITED OPINIONS AND ACCUSATIONS THAT HOLD NO WATER Quinn has been by her side since forever, and she was there during the scandal. Five seconds later, you're now going off on her because she's defending someone who genuinely cares for your husband but made one mistake out of the thousand good decisions he has made?? omg, this does make sense. and 2+2=7😐 I love Haley and Nathan. Nathan had a right to be angry about what happened, but his actions? no. haley has a right to also be mad as she loves and supports her husband and wants the best for him, but her actions? no!

I agree with you about Haley and Nathan. Totally with clay and Quinn on this one

I have to agree with you on the whole Nathan and Haley trying to dictate/ control Quinn and Clay’s relationship thing being really messed up because as you said Quinn and Clay are adults so they can make their own choices the only thing that Nathan and Haley have a right to decide is weather they can accept that decision or not and if they can’t bad Clay and Quinn still want to be a thing they have to learn to deal, like adults.

What dan did to clay was so unnecessary it definitely was crazy

I definitely didn’t understand the whole thing with Hayley/Nathan V Quinn/Clay I think it was a stupid side plot or something honestly

So, I totally agree that Haley was not written well in this season. And that Nathan and Haley's reaction to Clay's personal life was exaggerated. I think Clay is at major fault here for dropping the ball at a very critical moment (during contract negotiations!!)... AND for Nathan/Haley to find out he did so because he was with Quinn. Clay has a reputation for treating girls like expendable assets. Quinn has been stringing her ex-husband along while she figures out what she wants. At this point, Nathan and Haley have no reason to take their budding relationship seriously. Especially when spending time with each other is what directly caused Clay to drop the ball. I thought Haley's reaction was stupidly petty; she should've been disappointed, not judgemental and I personally don't believe that Joy Lenz didn't like her last lines (she said them so fast).

Yup, one more episode that proves my point which is that Haley is the most judgemental character of this show ! When she makes mistakes, others shouldn’t be so hard on her but when others makes mistakes, she judges and lecture the f out of people like please sis…….

season 7 Haley is honestly the worst
