You should be super proud of this Chris. As a tech guy you have provided me hours and hours of saved time and frustration across the board. Seriously. G.O.A.T.
@@ChrisTitusTechhello Chris I'm using windows 10 ltsc latest version and I'm not able to install winget package manager I'm tryed many solutions but nothing works correctly with me
You made the dream tool literally. Everything any windows user need is here and it's so easy, straight forward and above all free. I've been using this since release and I just love it. Thank you Chris and everyone who helped making this amazing tool.
Your tool is beyond awesome. I'm not just saying that because of my own experience with it, but rather all the IT people I know and have shared this with. The number of dropped jaws continue to grow, just like your tool does. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your effort as well as all those that contribute to its growth.
Hollo Chris, as one of those who has been using your tool since the beginning, I love you and everyone working on this wonderful project! This is proof that a fantastic piece of software in an open source environment can work wonders! To everyone who is working on this with you, I remain with kind regards from Hamburg (Germany) Victor Martins
@@egokhanturk Nope. I've run into multiple issues with it using certain ISO images on certain systems. You simply cannot state that as fact when you've only used a small sample size yourself.
The microwin part could have an advanced mode where you manually select every process and app you want to delete, with descriptions just like the install tab
If you ever used NTLite before, you'll know how many options can be customized. Just from a purely "size" stanpoint, the feature you're suggesting is likely beyond the scope of this project. If you want such fine-tuned control, in my opinion, it's better to use dedicated tools like NTLite instead.
every time i use windows mod, the more i realize that this is what i need. i love to use this tool on every system that i have. thank you chris and contributor.
I recently used this when reinstalling Windows 11 on a friend's laptop. It saved alot of time and helped speed things up by providing fixes to disable stuff that is unnecessary for that person.
Thank you so much Chris. Your tool became an essential step after a new windows install. Can't thank you enough, and thanks to all the people who collab with this project too! Have a great day.
So much gratitude Chris and all the people behind this project for all the amazing work you all do to keep improving and updating this FANTASTIC tool. I always recommend this to all the people I know that are using Windows. Many blessings, Max 🙏
I've been using your Utility ever since it was just one simple window with a tweaks button it has evolved so much u should be so proud Love your channel
Fantastic work Chris et al. I'm not sure how long I've been following your channel for, but it must be 4-5 years now. Even in its early development I found your utility to be a godsend, using it as part of the setup up process for fresh installs/builds for friends and family. Keep up the great work!
Love the new update. Went into the utility to change the update settings for a new-to-me laptop, and boom! Just adding the “get “ items to quickly see what is installed and what tweaks have been made, amazing. I ain’t one of you crazy folks, but I have four pcs between my wife and I, and being a tinkerer I’m always trying new things. This is such a nice multitool. Much appreciated!
Chris, thank you so much, your amazing tools is a life safer. My win 10 was very laggy that I punched my desk many times cuz it was not responding. Then, after I tweak it, it become like swoosh, so fast ! Like bro I should have known this tool long time ago! Such a gem! It doesn't need decade to open programs anymore, it also respons quickly. I wish many good things come to you Chris!
Congratulations, Chris! for all the work you have done on this incredible tool. One question, how can I get the Windows calendar to work again? When I used the tool, I disabled notifications and the calendar, I would like to enable it again.
@@ChrisTitusTech After i did the recommended tweaks, when i go into the location settings it says managed by your organization. Should i be concerned about this or should i ignore it. If it needs to be fixed how?
Thank you for this amazing tool! I am using it all the time for maintaining the machines at home and when helping friends - you made my life easier and made me look even cooler in front of my friends :D Made setting up new Windows installation so much easier and even fun! And every time I use it again it is even better than before... Not to mention the ton of new open-source software I learned about...
🌀I used this utility and installed a bunch of programs on a fresh installed windows 10. Cursor hourglass ran continually after using the utility and never stopped😬! This has happened before on another PC. I found a way to stop the hour glass but I'm reinstalling Window because I wonder what other problems will creep up.
Chris, this is obviously an amazing tool and I see even more potential in it! One thing I thought of to add, if i may suggest, is along the vein of understanding more about any one particular tweak and what it does/is: if you middle click the link to it will open a webpage with more information about it. Not like the 'product store' page, but even something like googles some keywords that bring up results on what that tweak does and why its important. I know that sounds lazy but I think it would be a simple QoL thing. Anyway, thanks and keep up the great work!
Great tool man. Thanks a lot. Keep up the good work. I don't think there is an equivalent out there. I would like to contribute, but I'm not good at windows stuff.
You are literally the creator of the better windows that could ever exist. Thanks for everything, we all appreciate with our life the hard work you and your team had put on this project.
I've used this script to set up 4 systems in the last couple of years and it worked flawless because it doesn't go overboard like many other "tweak scripts/programs". And every time I use it it just keeps getting better. When I do a fresh install this is the first thing I go to after installing drivers. Absolutely brilliant
Thanks for your time and effort into this tool Chris and everyone. Also your channel has taught me so many ways to give me the operating system that I paid for. Not what Microsoft steals from me
Chris, I have been watching your work for a bit with this script and I am so impressed with what you have done. I think it would be so awesome if you could create a script for at least Ubuntu/Debian systems. That would be a game changer to have a gui package manager (that's actually good) on Linux. I know I am definitely probably saying that a bit early considering you just started this one, but I mainly was just sprinklin in my thoughts! I do genuinely already use this script for my work laptop and even for our clients. So I am really just looking forward to what you are doing man! Keep it up!
There is so much cool software in there. Extremely good job by Chris and the other contributors. Chris, I think you might resort to tabs in the software section. 😂
This tool is very much needed for schools. New PCs and laptops are loaded with Win11 and all types of bloatware that slow down the system where opening a simple word document or PDF can take 10-15 seconds. This tool makes Win10/11 more usable! I've been clinging to Win7 because of all those nasty Win11 issues. Now I can finally install Win11 as my daily driver. Thanks Chris...
For years i have been doing stuff manually which took hours so having this programme that does all of that and more really is a big timesaver, definitely donating some money towards this too!
As i said many times before, this tool rocks! I am waiting for microwin to be fixed in order to rely on it. Thanks for your work! I am always downloading the latest exe so please don't forget to update it all the time :)
I confirm that this tool is awesome. I use it daily at work and it was never so fast and easy to prepare brand new pc builds for customers. Thank you so much!
Unser tweaks, It would be great if we could have the tool provide a list of ms apps installed and the ability to select all and then uncheck boxes to keep the ones we want as opposed to only having the option of removing all the ms store apps.
Chris from all of us we would like to say thank you for this. I have an idea for a section under tweeks where you can stop un-used windows services and this is a great way to speed up Windows. I have a batch and exe that does it. Let me know your thoughts
Chris, seeing how good and experienced you are with software engineering, are you familiar with the ReactOS project, and have you considered perhaps collaborating with them on development?
More details about what every tweak and setting does. I don't like to tweak anything without understanding what it's really doing under the hood. Thanks for all you do.
Yeah I'll expand the tooltips. If you look on github you can see every change I make in the tweaks.json file. We have been making everything modular so you anyone can make their own version with tweaks they like.
I'm constantly amazed every time I fire up this utility and see there are new things. Been using it a lot and its turned from a nice utility to have to something I don't want to live without lol.
Hi, There is one problem in Win utility tool. Have you noticed the items in context menu showing abruptly instead of taking a second to show? Click on right context menu and hover over view or sort by you will notice the items are showing very quickly. It breaks the visual design point of Windows. Do you face the same issue too?
Thank you man. I tried this once (the before this update), an OMG wonderful. Now I want to see what else is on here from this new update. Again WoW Thanks man. 😃
It would be really cool in my opinion if you could integrate the selected applications with MicroWin , I mean that all the selected applications will be automatically installed on the system that is created from the MicroWin ISO
hi Chris, I am currently building a new pc with 14700k and rtx 4090. Would you recommend windows 11 for this pc or windows 10? I never liked w11 but some people say 14th gen intel works best with w11, is that correct?
The only stuff I really do extra that this tool doesn't is Harden Tools for extra protection, O&O shutup for more fine adjustment, bloatynosy for debloat/tweaks and Pure Dark Theme tool to get a nice all black desktop, not sure if those tweaks could be added but it'd be like installing windows through an iso made from the app, and auto configured via the app which would be pretty sweet.
Nice tool. I'm currently moving from windows 10 to 11 on a new machine. The thing that takes the longest is trying to preserve my previous settings in all the programs. Would be great if I could "export" all the settings in the software you support from the old computer, and "import" them after the installation in the new one. Maybe even add create a way to add export/import to other software as well. Just to give some of the more complex examples: Visual Studio extensions, Notepad++ extensions, settings in registry, settings in AppData, hosts file, and so on...
I love this tool. I hope at some point you add a generic maintenance function but that is the only thing I think is missing, the isntallers, tweaks and even the Win ISO maker make this thing my go to for pretty much everything. I am glad to have bought the exe even if its not really needed it is my way of supporting this project; this is more useful than some tools I pay monthly for.
Trying to tempt me back to the darkside Titus? :) Seriously I get most stuff done perfectly well with Linux (Nobara KDE) but I always like to have a fallback and this makes Windows almost bearable again. I'm especially interested in the Microwin project because I suspect it will end up being my go to for making Windows VM isos - one thing you never need with a VM is bloat!
Hey Chris, long time fan here, I have a quick question for you regarding your debloat utility and PowerShell. I have a several old machines in my home lab plan on either repurposing or retiring, but im in the process of cleaning off changes before hand while I figure out what to do with them. Is there a way to run the Out Of Box settings revert from PowerShell without going through the GUI first? Other than that, as a homelab guy, really enjoy your utility and it has saved me a bunch of time on debloating new setups in any fashion and pull down what I over the long route. Keep being awesome! 😁
I checked the tool out... I'm very impressed. It takes away so much work. I however have one question : Is it possible to run the Utility in an unwatched mode just to update all components, let's say once a month? It would make administration of several computers in the home-network so much less cumbersome...
"...it doesn't install on your machine at all..." well that's kind of a lie, it install chocolatey, which personally I don't use. It would be nice to include optional chocolatey install and shadow out software options which are not supported by winget. Well, maybe I will come around to contribute myself.
