with the amount of jiggs and stuff you have. I would pay an entrance fee to be allowed to see your workspace. I just know that everything is clean, in its place, and no wasted space. Ofc. I might not want to leave.
This man is the top woodworker on RU-vid hands down. No blabbering, no bs, no rubbish music, no "Hey guys, it's yo boy... subscribe and hit that like button, blah, blah". Just top-notch quality content.
Amazing meticulous work. Your videos are compelling to watch and you show show that music, commentary and sfx are not necessary - other youtubers should take note!!
This guy is a master craftsman. I’m always waiting for the next video and have never been disappointed. Truly an inspiration and a challenge to all woodworkers to step up their game.
Man I trust you and will sub, this video is my first time seeing his video and I liked it already and after seeing ur comment I believe all other video are good too.
This video brought wide smiles to my face time and again. Those hands are so good and so practiced, and so steady and so "wise", Using the comfort of modern electric tools, but not neglecting the old school carpentry, really - wonderful work. I wish I had just the place to put up the equipment and do this myself. I was trained for wood working when I was young, but that's been almost 50 years ago now... I really envy the fun making things from wood. Bless you!
Looking at the laisser-faire way he not integrated the rear wheel's trailing arm into the stepping board but just screw-glued it to the grainwood sides instead, one push gets you no further than the first half-serious bump in the pavement. ☹️
I really admire how much you get out of such a small space and with such humble tools. Even more, I really admire putting so much labor into something your child will outgrow before they are old enough to really appreciate what you have done for them.
Oh I think they'll appreciate! I remember as a kid we used to hang around the shop a lot to build stuff we needed for our treehouse or whatever devious kid's plan we had in mind. My dad was always happy to cut us a piece on the table saw or to show us how to use tools. Now I live in the city and my tiny workshop is in my shed. I can't take on bigger projects for lack of space. So, I often invite myself for dinner at my parent's place to work in the shop and my dad is still around telling me he's got whatever tool or jig to make my job easier!! As time passes, you cherish these moments spent in the shop. I'm writing this from the desktop I CNC'ed at work but brought to my dad's shop for final scraping and finishing... There's a piece of him in almost everything I have!
that's the first video I saw from you - It took me quite a while until I realised what you're going to build. I was astonished when I saw you self-made other machines... Just brilliant and amazing - congrats! would love to see more from you - I hope the plans you share are not for free ;)
I would just like to say thank you for the content that you put on RU-vid. Most of the stuff that you make, leaves me speechless, you are truly a MASTER craftsman.
Beautiful build, sir! I have to say that I was not convinced that this really was for any kid until the very end of the video. :) Thank you for sharing this with us!
I'm 1:57 in and I already have 3 jig/tools I want to make for myself based on what I've seen. That quick DIY track saw board. The Ruler clam marking gauge, the quick slot router guide. Edit of the edit! 4 (Now 5) things! Installing 20/40 T slot extrusion on the edge of my bench for hold downs! (I've got some t slots in one of my rolling carts on the top) Using a mag drill setup for a bench top drill press...
I'm amazed! I didn't know your channel. I'm subscribing and likeing right now! Everything at your shop is so clean and healthy. Certainly this scooter is 1000% better than the most sophisticated smartphone. Very nice! Thank you, Sir!
It took me an embarrassingly long time to check what you're building, because I was sold on the idea of some contraption that literally keeps kids away from their phones - as in some kind of lock-box-cage device 🤪
What a craftsman. Stunning work. It’s so nice to see the use of good old wood instead of all this new fancy composite stuff that now available. Well done. Love love love this stuff keep the vids coming. 👍🏻
It's beautiful. My son would've immediately have tried to jump it off the roof. He would've been fine, but the toy would be destroyed and he'd have cried for a week. My daughter would've ridden it so carefully, gently bumped into a curb going .2 MPH and broken her arm. I don't know how those wonderful little creatures survived to adulthood, but they did by some magic. lol
Lovely. Lovely. It's more than a scooter something NASA work, you know what ,what i like most there is no stupid background music in this v-log just pure work sound.
That's a lovely toy. Even better: build it *with* your kids. My dad used to build toys and furniture for me and my brothers, but he always let us help, and that way we've learned skills that have served us well all our lives.
Best way to learn - through fun :) I used to "help" my dad with fixing lot of stuff as a kid. Now i fix things as my daily job and i still love the pleasure of finding out how things work and how to fix them :D
Exactly! When I view something like this I see "All about Me", ignoring father-son relationships, and driving kids to cell phones...I am not poo poohing the guy's skills, maybe he meant well. Maybe the title was the turn off.
You live in a nice rural setting, perfect environment to raise children. Your scooter will provide perfect exercise for distraction from homework and small computer screens.
This is a particularly cool project. I love it. I especially like the height adjustable handlebars! Also, I had a question which has probably been covered before, but I really like those silver F-clamps you often use, especially that they do not apply a torque to the workpiece as you tighten them. I've been looking for them for a while, but so far haven't even found the manufacturer or brand name. As far as I can tell they are not available in the US.
It almost looks like a mag drill that’s been incapsulated in wood. With a chuck attachment and the bottom part the possibilities are endless. Mag drills have like zero wobble too so it’s good for accurate holes
I believe there is nothing outside the realm of possibilities that you couldn't build. The absolute detail that you use on every project is just magnificent. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. You are an inspiration. I really think that if you built a rocket in your shop, you could get it to the moon...you are that good. Thanks again and stay well my friend.
My first thought was how great the build was. My second thought was, Izzy Swan would have powered it with a cordless drill! That's no criticism on what you made, more to do with I watch too many build videos!
My soul is in excellent condition, even after i disliked it. I would have happily "liked" it If the title said how to build a wooden scooter. However I am still sitting here wondering, is building a scooter what keeps them from the smart phone or is riding it what keeps the otherwise occupied ?
This is such a great build! I love your ingenuity and creativity when it comes to woodworking and engineering. That thing looks like quite the smooth ride with those big old tires too! Where can I order mine?
It’s a beautiful masterpiece! I think I would buy it, then just put it in a display. Then I would wait until I get that one kid that comes back time and time just to see it. Then I’d know he would be the one I’d give it too!
I wish you’d let us know what you’re building at the start of the videos so we know what parts you’re making. Your craftsmanship is incredible but the parts you make are totally obscure until the end of the video when they get assembled and we finally see what it is that you’ve made. Anyways, that’s all I hope for this channel. Everything else you do is absolute perfection.
Love the project : perfect for a child but for an adult I would like just a bit wider tires & a piece of tire rubber added to the back where the brake goes for better response when breaking
Love the comment: Perfect for a child, but for an adult, I think you would try and appreciate a demonstration of amazing woodwork without nitpicking over design.

Wow is about the only word I can think of to describe your mastery of carpentry. Once again you have just blown me away with your work. Sorry to repeat myself, but.....WOW
Linda construção, fiz quando criança, um igual ao seu,com pedaços de madeira e freio de pedaços de pneus, tudo com rolamentos usados. Parabéns o Senhor é muito habilidoso!
How to work using your hands AND your brain. I'm a template/jig type guy myself and there are so many ways to get it done. I only wish I'd taken pictures of the many different things I have done over the years. I can't even remember them all. Power tools are an extension of your hands and mind. There are no limits to what you can do if you use your brain. Loved the video. Nice smooth, lightweight and strong and quiet scooter! That boy will be able to ride it for years to come. Hope they do a time lapse video with it and the boy. That would be cool to see
Took me 10 min to realize its not what I thought it was, and another 3 min to realize it wasn't what I re-thought it was. :) Like his other builds this was a joy to watch being built.
Here's a trick for installing griptape: put the backing that you've just peeled of down on the top, so you can apply pressure more evenly by wiping with a cloth.
