Me too, I have done it a week ago and I was expecting to hurts so bad, but luckily didnt feel any pain so far. But im scared is going to hurt later lol , how was it for you? It's all good for you now?
@@sofiaidfonseca I just got mine done, and was expecting it to be very painful but it was maybe a 3/10 so not very bad. It feels like a warm sharp pinch. The only thing is go to a peircing studio NOT claires or anywhere where they use a peircing gun, you want to be sure to get it gun with a needle.
It’s been 9 days since I’ve had my double helix pierced, the piercing itself didn’t hurt, but within a couple of hours, my helix was so bright red, and they have been inflamed ever since. I have been using the travel pillow, since day one. And the Neilmed sea salt fine mist piercing aftercare. I wanted hoops, but my piercer said studs heal much faster, however I can’t imagine them hurting anymore with hoops, than these. So that’s great, you were so lucky, but for a majority of people, they still will go through the exact thing I am. I had both ears pierced with Daith, and Tragus 6 weeks before these, and they did phenomenal! Never a single issue. So beware everyone each of us will have our own unique experience. If we are lucky, we will have her luck. She didn’t even use the correct sea salt mist, She used saline (for contacts) not saline sea salt solution. Never do that! Use 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt to 8 oz (1 cup) of warm water. If you don’t want to buy the saline wound wash or sea salt mist.
I would just like to add- If you are going to make the solutions yourself, Make sure you use distilled water and Not just any water. If u dont have distilled water you can boil regular water, boiling won't sterilize it but it will disinfect it for the most part. Same thing with the bottle that you are using to store it in.
i just got my conch and flat pierced on my right ear yesterday and i've been freaked out by all the bumps/keloids ive seen people have during their healing process and i've just been praying it doesn't happen to me too. so far everything's been okay, it only hurts if i accidentally touch it or when im cleaning it. the pain scale for piercing my conch would be 2/10 (barely felt anything) and 3-4/10 for the flat.
I got mine pierced a week ago, honestly doesn't hurt very much, it felt sore for the first few hours but its healing up really nicely! I haven't really been able to move mine without it hurting though, don't think that's a problem but when i touch it it starts hurting, my piercer told me to refrain from touching it unless I was cleaning it. Kinda nervous that i have some dried up blood in it now lol, it has moved on its own though from me hitting it on accident so i'm not too worried. Overall the pain was a solid 4/10 and that's coming from someone with a not so high pain tolerance, definitely consider getting this piercing if you want it!
I got my cartilage piercing about 5 days ago... but i still cant push the earings back or front damn it hurts.. even wen i touch it a little it hurts. You are lucky...
Going on 13 days now so almost 2 weeks and all my swelling has gone completely down , they don’t bother me or hurt at all anymore (: they’re healing up nice. I actually got a double helix on one side. Now I can push them around and they’re lots a room (only while cleaning) just keep up on cleaning the way you’re piercers recommend and they’ll heal up nicely. The only time they hurt is I or someone else accidentally bump them and it’ll only be for a min or so and then they feel fine.
@@TRiNaZaRda am two weeks and 4 days now i think. Am doing pretty fine i realized that the jewelry i used didn't like my skin that's why it was painful so much.. i did change the jewelry and it's amazing how much of a difference that can make. Am enjoying my piercing so much now no pain no swelling but i still don't wanna sleep on it just taking the precaution. 🙂🙂😍😍😍 otherwise everything is going just fine.. i love it.
@@flaviaandrew5447 that’s awesome glad you got it to work out with a different piercing, I have to use gold or titanium. Make sure not to sleep on ur ear guys! Lol mine felt so healed up and last night I slept on it for the first time and it’s a little swollen today only a tiny tiny bit I can’t even feel it and only noticed while cleaning it cause the bar couldn’t move around as much. So make sure to give it lots of time before you sleep on it!!! Pray you’re guy’s piercings all heal up supper nice! Enjoy them , take care🤗🤗🤗
I’ve read so many different things on the internet. Some tell you it’s okay to use saline solution, some say to never do it. It’s so annoying! I’ve had mine for a little over a year and I never clean it anymore lol. I just clean it with water in the shower
I got 2 cartilage piercings right next to each other at the same time and I would rate the pain a 3 or 4 for the first one but the pain was more the uncomfortable pain. The second one was like a 4 or 5 only because the ear was sensitive from the first one. I would say the pain was only for a second or 2 than it was just a little warm. It’s been 2 to 3 days since I’ve got mine and it’s alright. Some pain when I accidentally hit it or touch it a little bit but other than that my ear is handling the piercings quite well. I love how they look to. Definitely DO NOT sleep on it or them because I can only imagine the pain of accidentally lying on a pillow on the wrong side. I will say that it’s like a shock when you accidentally bump it. Other than that the experience was awesome and I don’t regret it
I got 2 cartilage piercings next to each other too a week ago! Same here it hurts whenever I touch by accident or after I clean because I’ve been touching it. How long did the pain last for you? And how long did it take to heal?
Honestly the helix hurt less than my ear lobes (I got them all done on the same day) but man after a few hours the lines were fine but my helix was really sore. I’d say like a 3 or 4 on the pain scale. Bumping it was like a 5.5. It’s been four days now and it only hurts when I bump it. Kinda weird how different our experiences were.
I’ve had mine for almost a month now and I used saline solution to clean it that I got from my piercer and it hasn’t hurt at all pretty much the same as you described!
I pierced my double helix at home 2 weeks ago, the first fist week it was really red and kinda hurt but now it doesn't and the redness completely disappeared.
Please don’t use contact lens solution! I have a double helix on both of my ears, one I got a year ago and the other I got about 4 days ago. The piercing I got a year ago has healed perfectly and all I used was salt water baths (bathing your ear in salt water twice a day) and tea tree oil to help with the swelling. I would recommend those over contact lens solution any day
Got mine done today. Really hurt when she first did it because she said my ear had a lot of gristle so it took longer and really hurt but I have has it In all day and doesn’t hurt as much anymore. Love the idea of the neck pillow I will be using it until it stops hurting 😁😆
Do you think it would be ok too get one at 12? I only have normal lobe peiercing 1 on each side although I heard that it can screw up ur ear if done too soon? Ur thoughts? Thanks so much!
Delaney Jones ok thank you!!! I’m pretty sure there ok with it I brought it up and showed them pictures and they seemed ok with it I just wanna make sure on my half it won’t cause damage what age was yours done?

I got mine done yesterday and I don’t think I’ve ever regretted anything more. It’s sore all the time, you are very aware that it is there all the time, you can’t sleep for ages as you can’t lie on it. I have 6 other piercing and this is the absolute worst
@@88lia I still can’t sleep on it but the pain is gone. Very different from earlobes you can feel the hole and are aware of it which is very weird. Regretting it slightly less but still unsure
@@88lia I was super nervous too but don’t let me stop you. It looks rlly nice and I’m kinda glad I got it. Just know it will be sore, it takes a while to stop noticing it and sleep on your other side or on an airplane pillow.
thank you so much for this, i had no idea i could use saline solution and i've got 2 bottles of it already ! mine hurts like the DEVIL because i keep bumping it, and i keep getting paranoid it's gonna get infected 😫
Ok so I got mine at Claire’s a week ago, when I first got it pierced it didn’t hurt AT ALL. My pain tolerance is medium . My third lobe piercing hurt more than my cartilage. So far I’ve only been using my Claire’s solution to clean it . My hair hasn’t really gotten caught in it. It stings a little when I clean it but It’s normal. It only hurts if you really move it a lot. But so far i love it , it looks super cute ! I will update . Ps the piercer said I have a really thin cartilage so maybe that’s why it didn’t hurt
I've had my helix done for about ten days now and it still does ache a little bit during cleaning. The only thing that necessarily hurts it knocking it on anything and getting your hair caught on the bar. It's healed well so far.
same here. it felt like a pinch when i got it done and its been two days since and i forget its even there. the only time it "hurts" is when i clean it.
oh my gosh, hi, im 11 and i want to get my cartdilage done 2 times on 1 ear and once on the other. BUT, i have the BIGGEST fear of needles and or peircing gun and i am so terrified but i really want to because it looks cool, please can you tell me how much ithurt getting the actuall eircing and then what happened afterwards. IM SO AFRIAD
@@georgiaharman8848 go to a piercer and get it done with a needle pls don’t do it with a piercing gun. I had mine done with a piercing gone and got a huge bump. I then got it with a needle and it feels so much better
@@Claudia-xr2lx thanks, i did got to a peircer to get it done but then she freaked me out by telling me all the bad things that coud happen, instaed i got a third peircing on my earlobe. i think im going to get my carttilage when im a bit older
@@georgiaharman8848 oh that’s good! Yeah cartilage are kind of rough to take care of. I guess my body is prone to getting piercing bumps cause after a month it got one but I’m using sea salt and it’s way better. Just a few tips, remember that if you get it just don’t be afraid it will heal soon enough lol. Don’t sleep on it and be gentle around it specially with your hair. It’s a difficult piercing but it’s really pretty once it’s healed!!
It doesn’t, it just hurts if you get it caught I have long hair so I’m getting it caught quite a lot and that’s pretty painful and sleeping with it is annoying but it’s worth it after a few days you can sleep on it and getting it caught won’t hurt that much
It don’t hurt when you first get it done but if you get things caught on it like a sweatshirt if you are taking it off or putting it on or long hair getting caught on it would hurt
deadrxses it’s not bad at all you can feel a pinch at first when the needle first goes in but then it’s just really hot and stings a little ( I have a low pain tolerance too btw)
hi, im 11 as well and i went to get mine done but the lady who was going to pierce it with a gun freaked me out when she started telling me about the pain, this is because i have the biggest fear of needles and or peircing guns in then world, please can you give me some tips like wether i should use a needle or a gun and how much it should hurt if im not sure that i have low tolerance in pain.
@@georgiaharman8848 hey! Sorry I took to long to respond I used numbing cream and get them to make you lay on your side and ask them if you can like play on your phone or iPad or play some music because that’s what I did
I’m getting mine done tomorrow with a gun. Ik Ik you aren’t really supposed to get it done with a gun but everyone that I know that has gotten their helix done got it done with a gun and everyone’s is fine…I’ll just test my luck out I guess
It’s not that it’s bad it’s the fact I dose not pierce ur ear it shoves the earring thru and then u end up with s ball of scar tissue in ur ear that’s why u need the needle because it actually pierces a hole for the earring
@@hanfruiz cool well I live in England so it’s different I don’t have to have any of those things I just need a parent to sign something and then that’s it
Oh don’t touch your piercing no matter what even when clean try not to even with clean hands, don’t even touch you ears. Also don’t take ibuprofen as it may make your piercing bleed paracetamol is the better option
Purple Princess maybe your piercer didn’t do a good job or your ear is sensitive? I got mine done a few days ago and my ear is very bruised and sore but it is supposed to he for the first 3 weeks because it is healing. I definitely don’t regret mine (I’ve had 6 other piercings) and this didn’t hurt at all compared to the others.
@@amelie983. I don’t mean to scare you but after about two weeks the pain went away. Unfortunately now the pain is back and I can’t sleep on it. I think most the pain is from me wearing glasses though. The time the pain went away was over Christmas so I wasn’t wearing them but now I back to school and it’s back. My glasses rest on the piercing and I try to reposition them when I notice but it naturally goes back that way.
