The art is by Jed Henry. Does a lot of traditional Japanese art of modern media. He's on pintrest and at conventions and draws on cloth. Highly recommend buying a print or 9.
“Long ago in the world known as Gaia, I, Sephiroth, The One Winged Angel, had unleashed an UNSPEAKABLE EVIL!” “But a foolish Ex-SOLDIER, wielding a large sword, stepped up to oppose me.”
“Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future, where I rule on high as a god! Now the fool seeks to return to the past and undo the evil that is Sephiroth…”
I swear, I was looking for a traditional Japanese rendition of One Winged Angel just a few weeks ago. I couldn't find anything except one in medieval European style.. and here you are a few weeks later to deliver this.... ARE YOU SNOOPING IN MY RU-vid SEARCH!? Awesome song, thanks for all your hard work!
We almost had an ancient Japan FF. The secret ending for Type 0 shows one of the main characters in a japanese shrine wearing traditional/fantasy Japanese garb but given it's been more than a decade since Type 0 came out and Tabata isn't with SE anymore, we'll have to settle for wishing for now. But who knows, FFXVI is set in medieval Europe so who's to say that XVII isn't in ancient Japan?
@@ricodc6529 Maybe, whom knows? preferably I'd like to see a Final Fantasy game that's "way out there" and explores the concepts of superheroes, since that's a theme FF has yet to explore.
Imagine if the artwork in this video was actually a real painting made in feudal Japan and there was actually a myth tied around depicting 2 warriors locked in eternal combat
This is unnatural as a traditional Japanese ensemble, but in some places I hear the flavor of Jidaigeki films. It could be better if you watched a bunch of them.
I want to start a collection with obscure video game art like this. Where can I buy them framed? I don’t want to take the cheap route and print them out. I want the artist compensated! 😭
