im around the 8th month stage with the same curls as yours and this gave me a lot of confidence in passing this awkward stage!!

I’m mixed/white but a light skin with this type of hair. While another lockdown is happening in the uk I’ve I’m considering growing out my hair. I always get a weekly trim and skin fade but frustrates me when people ask where my kids get their lovely curly hair from. This has given me some inspiration seeing the different stages and just what can be done along the way

Nice. I grew my curly hair out in my 20's and it was probably 3 years before it was fully down to my shoulders. Since Coronavirus I've started growing it again. Not sure if I can keep up professional appearances (I'm 49) but I'm gonna give it a whirl!

Thank you for posting this because as a Black-Filipino person I have hair texture that is very, very similar to yours, if not the same, but I haven’t been able to find any other videos or websites that specifically depict growing out hair of our texture (for “men”). The internet and RU-vid is very white-washed. The closest thing I would find are pics or videos of white or light-skin men with very fine / straight hair, or occasionally black men with very kinky textures that do hairstyles specifically for that type of hair.

The first year or 2 of growth is the best...my hair is so long and thick now that I don't even notice a change in length until I put my hair in twists or braid it

i started my journey last month. I had an undercut (the top of my head is probably 5 inches in length already) but im growing the sides and back out and will probably cut the top to match it around 10-12 weeks. we'll see how it goes. My hair is like yours though, curly and thick.

Almost on my 3 month mark. My hair is type 2 curl so it looks between wavy and curly and takes longer to look long as it springs up and appears shorter. I'm going for maybe 1 year growth at the most, possibly shorter time but we will see
