So, it's been a year I've been homeless. I started out with my walk across America and that descended into my being homeless as opposed to being a hobo. I am so grateful for those of you who watched my videos, subscribed to my channel, and supported me with your kindness.
I hope this next year will become more of a hobo experience as I intend to ride a bike and travel around Oregon looking for that next special place.

Brother!. I've been homeless from 2017 to 2022 in Denver, Colorado. What I learned on the streets is who cares what other think!!. You have to do what makes you happy. Life is always hard! But good times come too. So push forward in life!!. Traveling is good!. More peaceful in heart. Maybe I'll see you someday down the line because I'm going to walk or bicycle coast to coast. Soon. Will brother watch you back and stay warm and safe.

Won't be long before much of America is living the same... Im sorry you're not well. Try to avoid the DG brand vitamins...actually, Dollar TREE $1.25 vitamins are very effective. When the shit hits the fan, you will fare better than most. ❤

Homeless in Central Oregon here, by choice. I stay mostly on BLM and NF in the winter. It great for privacy and being able to have a really nice camp. Underground with a woodstove. The down is no resources, I'm on my own. The summer sucks because tons of resources but being camped out is real iffy, police,dangerous homeless. So I build up pile of supplies and migrate them to my winter camps. I just had to abandon a camp due to flooding. Lost a ton of gear and supplies. For me the vitamin b1 is a must in the winter. Hang in there,be strong and walk well.

Underground huh, Ive thought about that. I also wouldn't mind a campsite with a little more permanence. How do you check to see if it's BLM land?
@luckylarry5112
@luckylarry5112 5 месяцев назад
@hoboroad One way is to just go to the BLM government site online. Same for NF lands. My preferred way is I have a Garmin GPS with hunting maps for Oregon. That shows blm,nf and private lands including the owners name and contact info. I have 3 well developed underground shelters and nd 7 more temporary type but very well hidden. The only thing that makes these possible is having my electric bike. All of my shelters are roughly 10 miles out of city limits, no local police. I do choose locations that have good cell coverage for my phone and tablet. I do have a small storage room that has electricity for $55 a month. Sorry for a little too long. Thanks

I also want to add,: A GPS unit is a must if your gonna be out and about. Law enforcement lies especially if they think your an easy target. I always make sure I know exactly where I am and the correct land designation. Before setting up camp I record my exact location for court purposes. Many times I've been harassed and told I could not camp in the location I was. I politely show them my GPS location and if it goes any further, I just let them write their ticket and humiliate them in court. It has saved me from more than one trespass charge. Just recently I have been thrown a new twist. They ask if I'm homeless or have a current street address. If you say anything of being homeless or not housed they will write a trespass for intent of a permeant camp. They say it's only for 14 days recreational camping. I always photo my temporary camps and include GPS location the first day. I move on the 13th day and give it month before returning to that site. I also have several trail cams, I usually leave one behind for a few days to see if they return. I always have one set up from day one and always review it when I return to camp. A few times I have spotted them in the area and move out ASAP! You gotta live like your behind enemy lines with multiple threats. Oh, leave no spore of any kind behind. Never store old camp data in a GPS unit. Temp camp sites I always wrap my phone in foil also, 6 layers. I need to write a book on homeless gorilla tactics. Big jump start on SHTF SOP! Thanks

Don't forget the Vitamin B1 Tom, that's your main remedial nutrient for depression. Peanut and chocolate cravings are common with depressives as cocoa and peanuts have high content of the mineral manganese which is nutritionally co-active with thiamine (B1)...but if you're low in B1 these foods will exacerbate the deficiency. B12 and B1 are co-active too so taking B12 when you need B1 is causing your anxiety, ... classic symptoms of B1 deficiency are high blood pressure, depression, anxiety and diahorea. Sublingual B12 is the best, but stop taking it without B1. B1 has zero toxicity so you can take much more than the recommended dose All the best from Auckland, NZ

@hoboroad 5 месяцев назад
thanks for the info. Next time I have cash I will get the b1 the dollar tree didn't have it. I don't think I can blame the chocolate cravings on the lack of b1 or b12 as I've craved PB and chocolate my entire life 😎.

@@hoboroadWhen I was young and suicidal I craved chocolate and eat so much each binge I used to vomit. I later became a qualified Clinical Nutritionist, now retired and have treated dozens of suicidal people as a freelance consultant. This cocoa craving is a classic sign of B1 deficit. I have had most of these clients/patients say I've saved their lives after putting them on mega dose B1 therapy for 2 weeks them tapering off to moderate dose maintenance henceforth. I told you in my first advice to start B1 before B12. 😫 Best wishes Tom

Here in NZ Vitamin B1 was banned recently presumably following Big Pharmo lobbying. Apparently this is happening in most Countries. I'll be interested if you can purchase it. B1 availability interferes with antidepressant sales profits
@hoboroad
@hoboroad 5 месяцев назад
Yeah, I looked for the B1 but I could only find the B12 and limited on funds. I would like to wait and get the B1 like you said but even with the crappy side effects of B12 it's still worth taking until I can afford the B1.
@hoboroad

I was able to get the b1 today along with a multivitamin. Thx 4 ur suggestions!

I focus life on three things, Physical, Financial, and Intellectual goals, they all pay off, after a setback I go back to focusing on those goals, that is what I do. Life is better when you are physically fit, just exercise everyday, your choice on type. Life is better when you are financially secure, live within your means, save for bad time because sooner or later, something bad is gonna happen. Life is better when you are intellectually sound, continue learning something new your entire life, keep your mind active and growing. Work on Physical, Financial, & Intellectual goals your entire life and everything works out OK.

In a perfect world that would definitely do it. But when things turn to shit, when your mind and body betray you. When you make the best choices you can but life just keeps throwing you curve balls. You're goals are ideal but no plan survives the first battle with the enemy. IMHO There is no one size fits all solution. But thx for sharing!

Peanut butter is bad for you, high in saturated fat, 1 jar is equivalent to eating a can of Crisco, will kill you over time, but if you are gonna eat it, I like PB + M&M's on tortillas, PB + Salami of tortilla (or bagel) taste great, PB + Raisins is jelly substitute, a little chewy.

Get off the street. Get subsidized housing, disability, something. There are programs for older people over 50-55. I wish you the very best and hope you can get off the street soon. There is absolutely no excuse for allowing people to end up on the street in the wealthiest country in the world.

I'm not there yet. In order to get SSI or disability I need a doctor and such and I just don't have the energy for that yet. But if things get worse I will attempt it.

You can try a disability attorney. It's having to get the mail. Most disability attorneys will have staff to help with filing out the mail that's required. I helped my brother with it. His attorney office was set up for homeless disabled. To help them. Just some info for you.

From everything I've read online, I would need extensive medical treatment and evidence which I don't have. Years ago I stopped with the doctors and meds trying to fix me as all they did was make me tired or the side effects were horrible. So I've been coping on my own for many years and don't have what they need.🙃
