I’m looking to get into the hobby and I’m pretty certain on a TX16S mk2 max and the fatshark scout goggles unless I find a used dji goggle around $200. Get stuff that you can upgrade later on and also use it with all your rc vehicles.

People always want to talk about building a drone for the cheapest amount as possible. Budget drone build. I always say that's stupid. Just build the drone you want. It's all gonna break. So break the good stuff. 🤷 if you can't afford it just remember life sucks. I'd race motorcycles if it was cheaper.. I can't afford it. So I fly stupid carbon fiber birds. I break them then spend more money.
It’s sad, some of those people that I see really have the talent and drive but can’t afford the $1000/month that it costs to fly normally and progress. But I guess you gotta live within your means. 🤷♂️ Bikes get pretty expensive, especially when you have a decent tumble and have to get new helmet, boots, gloves, leathers, fork, clip-ones, swing arm, etc. It’s about 10X what drones cost. Auto racing is even more ridiculous, just by the fact that most cars have 300-500 hours of work on them. But honestly the cheaper hobbies is the ones that I really have the most fun with. I love working within limitations. Kicking around a crappy $1000 dirt bike, running around the mountains with sub $1000 amount of gear, BASE jumping and paragliding with a $1000 sail. Kite surfing, free diving, that shits all ridiculously fun for me, I really don’t like the expensive hobbies anymore. You just don’t feel the same when you have your $10,000+ bike or whatever in the middle of nowhere, it’s just more stressful.
