I had a truck with the 6.2L diesel and i loved it, 400,000 miles before the truck was retired. Or in short when i flipped 4 times down the highway... Even than the big thing i remember after the rollover is the engine still running....
I ❤ humvee the simplicity of it and if I want to make it have more luxury's you can!. You can have a 4 door short box truck, wagon, slant back, 2 door long box truck. You can get the ones that have ambulance body and make it into overlanding rig. The option's are endless!.
You have a very nice looking Humvee. Have you considered upgrading to something like a Duramax 6.6 liter diesel. They're quieter, more powerful, and with a modern Allison transmission you'll have no problem surpassing 60 MPH and cruising at highway speeds. The new Duramax engines are very reliable and a straightforward replacement for your 6.5 liter.
I drive a Prius and most people don’t get that it’s a reliable car, not a statement. I don’t vote and if I did, my car would not give you a clue who I would vote for
It is definitely super simple and like driving around in a big tractor. I am surprised, but I absolutely love this thing. Gets more attention than any of my other cars for sure.
Thank you for the comment. The best charger/battery maintainer I have used is a 24V Banshee. I have not done any mats but man I need to. It would help with road noise.
@@JohnEngel I found the floor mates, just the same as the Hummer H1 1998; I got the TRuck yesterday from Plan B Supply, which looks great. It has taken them 16 months (first, it was 13 weeks) Communication issues on plan B supply over the entire time. Missing spare tire at delivery, engine has minimum/or below oil. Dan told me he checked everything. There were times when I was very close to dropping everything from Plan B. Very unprofessional service. They what to be a big player, but their service is based on a Mom and Pap store. Very unhappy with their client service. What was your experience with them?
Love the Humvee! I recommend investing a bit of money into a Lav microphone. You won't get the problem with the wind noise that you have in some of your shots. Cheers!
@@mixinthebisquic1238 I totally see what you are saying now. Thank you for letting me know. I was reading your first comment totally wrong. Thank you again.
@@JohnEngel hey man no problem nothing worse then asking a vet if they are ex military lol I learned the hard way I was thoroughly corrected and glad that I was full respect to serving and prior military vets
@@JohnEngel a good friend served 10 years in the Army and spent a lot of time driving Humvees. We talked about it yesterday, and he thought it was a good idea as long as 1) I have something else to drive long distance/highway travel, and 2) it has some anti-theft measures installed. It’s getting harder to resist the call of Plan B Trucks LOL. Have you addressed the anti-theft question, and if so, how?
@@drdesign6049 kinda. I have a battery kill switch that will be hidden under the seat. So when I get out, I will just switch it off. This should confuse 99% of thieves. I hope. 🤞
Yoo I'm thinking of getting one within 2 years, just wanted to know how much it's a full prize for 2 gas tanks in total Your reply will really help me out
@@JohnEngel I just picked up a 2004 H1 that I’ll be restoring. It’s got way too much in the way of unique and electronics and hard to find parts. Should be an interesting adventure
@@JohnEngel My plan is similar to yours. To have fun with it for a while, mark it off of my bucket list, and let someone else enjoy it later down the line.
Lol. The rear tie rod was loose and allowing The rear wheel to wobble. Which caused the Lugnuts to loosen in the world fall off. Super easy fix and no issues so far
Did plan B give you everything you need for the DMV? I also live in SC and have been looking into one of these and just not sure what the best route to get one is. Thanks
@@JohnEngel Good deal. As both a vehicle enthusiast and a small business owner, I’m glad your channel got recommended. I went back and watched some of your other videos too. I really like the information and presentation and look forward to seeing more. Good job and good luck, take care!
@@paullappid9624 mine is a Rampage. It was already done when I bought the Humvee but they seem like a great group. Love it so much and a great bang for the buck.
@@JohnEngel that’s not bad did it come titled for the road and did the state you live in except the title I live in Michigan and they just do not want to let these vehicles on the road I’ve heard people getting a title with them and then going to the state and the state won’t except it
