Hey Ben! I really like your Acer swift 3 reviews. You really helps me to convince my parents buy that for school. But I have a problem I don't know which one should I get. Should I go for the AMD ryzen 7 4700U or the Intel I71165G7. I mainly use it for coding, photoshop and slight gaming such as valorant, apex, and rouge company. I hope you can help me with this one.
In my opinion you should get the amd version because right now amd have better performance than the 11th gen i7, plus for your uses amd provide you with a better integrated gpu than the intel version. Hope this help you
For my experience, I play rust on this regularly, low to medium settings at 720p (hardly noticable on the small screen. The amd 4700u is insane even with only 8 gigs of ram
Thanks for this useful review Ben! - great to hear that the fan is quiet as a noisy fan is my main issue on my current laptop. Also, I like your style, it's geeky cool!
I don't what's the difference between acer swift 3 14" intel core i5 vs acer swift 3 notebook AMD ryzen 7. Please help me choose. I am student. The sale for intel is only until july 20z and still thinking which one is better?
What is the overall durability of the battery like? I know the surface pros become useless over time, but how do these compare? If it's long life battery, how long is it going to run after 12 months?
Great video! Thanks for the content Which one should I get, Swift 3 SF314-511-55J1 i5-1135G7 11th Gen 8GB RAM 512GB SSD or Aspire 5 A515-45-R8W2 Ryzen 7 5700U 8GB RAM (upgradable) 512GB SSD? Since the Swift is on sale at the store, it is about 50usd cheaper than the Aspire. I’ll be using the laptop mostly for computer science, engineering software and project management. Thanks for the help.
Two completely different guys. One has great battery, the other doesn't. One is thin, light and nicely built, the other is 2-3 times heavier and saves money on its external part to save money. One has no RAM upgrade, the other can go up to 20GB (if I'm not mistaken). Honestly, if you don't mind using it while charging, Acer Aspire might've been a better pick because it's customizable etc.
I bought the i7 version of the Swift 3 but made sure it came with Win 10 instead of Win 11. It's a very fast and light laptop I'm a little disappointed in the screen brightness and not the best sound. It is great to have both lighted keyboard and fingerprint reader these features are a must for me from now on.
I use Davinci resolve 17 and I usually lower my res to 720 to make sure my video is edited to my liking, then i change the settings back to 4K and upload due to it being a bit choppy.. but i mean 4K rendering for $650??? Cant beat it. This’ll hold me until i drop $4K on my monster PC. For now its the Series x / Acer Swift 3.
Hey man, i watched ton of your reviews in the last week, so i made my decision and i bought the hp omen 16 (Intel Core i5-12500H , NVIDIA RTX 3060 6GB, 16 gb ram) . I want it for video editing and some photoshop/LR (i dont play games). However, i am not sure what is the normal case with these laptops (since i never had gaming/performance laptop before) but is it normal to heat up to 90 degrees while exporting, doing other heavy tasks? Also i went for it , not the ultrabooks, because i wanted something more sturdy, but i am wondering. I am looking at the Acer SWIFT 3 (AMD Ryzen 7 5825U, AMD Radeon RX Vega 8, else - the same as hp omen), which is actually 400$ cheaper. So i wonder shall i return the omen and replace it with the acer swift? Would it be better for my needs, would it heat the same, etc, etc, what would you recommend? Thanks!
I am thinking to buy the NEW Asus Zenbook Pro Duo (UX582) i9 10th Gen with RTX370 for Premiere Pro and Devince resolve. Because it has duo screen. I don't know which laptop to buy between Zephyrus duo and Zenbook pro duo. Please any suggestion between the two. Thanks
I have the intel i7, 16 RAM, 1TB SDD - and it gets super hot when I use Zoom... I only use Powerpoint, a book interactive software... and it gets up to 97 degrees in more than one core mostly when the charger is plugged in and mainly when using Zoom (according to CPUID HWMonitor). Is it normal?
Oh no:( I got the i5, 8ram, 512ssd one, and I need it to use zoom 😿. I was about getting a Lenovo one (Yoga slim 7, i5, 8ram,512ssd) but it was only available in another city 🥺. And I need my the computer because I need to use Zoom 😿
Can u pleaseeeee do a review for asus zenbook 13 or zenbook 14, I'm thinking of getting it for editing videos, don't have the $$$ to get a high end ones
@@bandombeviews6035 Hi, Im thinking about buying the Acer Swift 3 with a 5700U, 16GB ram and 512GB of storage, But it is quite a bit more expensive than the 8GB ram model. Do you think it's worth to spend the extra money on this laptop or look for a different one?
@@bandombeviews6035 why do you prefer this one? Been looking at the zenbook ux325 with r7 5700u/16gb ram/521gb ssd, should I go for acer swift 3 with i7 1165g7 instead?
@@bandombeviews6035 im just not too sure about the oled display, the whole burn in thing and also more eye strain 🤷♂️ can get the swift 3 a bit cheaper aswell.. but the asus looks better and got some cool features 😅
Hi Ben, i like the way you do the reviews. I'm gonna buy this Acer, but i'm concern with only 8gb ram. Do you think is enough or should i go for 16gb? Is way more expensive than the 8gb versión, but maybe that way it will last longer cuz the ram is no upgradeable in this kind of laptops. (Sorry for the bad English, not my native language)
I reconsidered on buying this laptop due to the connection for the power adaptor, apparently the connection inside the Swift 3 itself is quite flimsy and after a while it doesn't charge correctly anymore until you twist the wire into an exact position.
how long have you been using the Swift 3? I bought mine about a year ago... and my problem is particularly in excel use, it occasionally freezes, and sometime the laptop won't boot normally (should update the bios maybe?). Other than that, it has been fast and efficient.
@@misterdog7 ohh i thought you had one since you mention the problem from the charging cable... ohh well, i guess it is just typical Acer badmouthing, since their MSRP are usually lower than other brand
