***** I'm kind of on the same page as you here, which was why I questioned OP. I was only familiar with a few songs from Memory Vague and such earlier, but it was this song and to an extent this album that really drew me into Lopatin and his work. If I stumbled upon this song on Soundcloud I think I would still love it. Because it's great.

The video is really about three things: -The dichotomy between the natural world and the mechanical world. -The increasing mental stimulation that comes with constant technological advances, and it's sometimes schizophrenic like effects on the mind. -The all encompassing grip of corporate value in a globalized world. More simply, a "still life" of the post modern mind. The song itself is called "Problem Areas" and is also on the same album that features a track called "Americans", which makes a lot of sense considering the imagery which denotes the american capitalistic, mass consumerist society. Among the images used are a McDonalds cup, Pringles chips, an iPhone, and a Gatorade bottle (ironically in which a classic "ship in a bottle" ship is housed). Note the deliberate intention by the artists, to make still life pictures, albeit with the post modern touch (the reason for the "Art of The Future" book title towards the beginning). This video is a still life, of the post modern mind. One of the first images is of prescription pills stacked in a tower, and dice that endlessly stack into each other like something from MC Escher. This is immediately followed by an image that depicts a dart board in which we can see a dart below it. We have "missed the mark", so to speak. The noise of the modern world can drive us insane, and we often find ourselves assaulted by a barrage of thoughts, and we find ourselves unable to stop thinking. In the middle of the song AT, the music ceases the frantic noises, and is instead replaced by an mostly empty drone, this is the moment of clarity, there is an image of a bull skull, and a broken iPhone. This is nature vs the mechanized man (the chrome skull). The peace and stillness is soon broken by the kinetic energy of the horns, blaring. Analyze the images and you will see.
