Oneohtrix Point Never - Ships Without Meaning (Memory Vague 03/11) 

It’s a warm summer evening, the sunlight illuminates so brightly between the cracks of my window blinds. I hold a strange looking DVD case in my hand that my uncle gave me not too long ago. The cover is completely blank. No awesome eye popping art, no description, not even any credits to be seen. Only a title crudely drawn on the front with red sharpie, *MEMORY VAGUE* .Out of morbid curiosity, I proceed to put it in my DVD player and see what it has to offer. It looks like it’s already been watched a couple times judging by how it just started playing at a random place. Suddenly, I hear some rather ominous music coming from my TV as well as see a video of little spheres repeatedly colliding into each other. It’s a bit creepy at first, but the more I watch and listen, the more I feel a strange sense of comfort. It reminds me so much of my childhood. The music becomes much louder and stronger as the video progresses too, like a wave of never ending tranquility. And the imagery is mostly the same for the most part and only switches to something else near the end...almost like a ship, with cargo boxes full of my precious memories of going to the park with my sister and going to the grocery store with my mom, impatiently waiting for her to pay for all the groceries e.t.c. ... memories that have become completely irrelevant in my modern life. It’s nothing but a calm ocean filled with unexplainable noises and a small little ship just gently flowing in the center of it all. A ship that is present for absolutely no reason... it’s a ship without meaning
