The OnePlus 12 comes in at $500 less the Galaxy S24 Ultra MSRP. Is it worse? Depends on what you value and prioritize in a smartphone. Spoiler: its performance and screen won't leave you disappointed. But the Galaxy S24 Ultra is still a huge competitor to try and take down.

Personally, I absolutely love curved glass. It makes the device far more ergonomic and easier to hold. Once more, I absolutely detest these flat slab Flintstone phones that seem to be all the rage. Unfortunately, Samsung has chosen to go down that trendy road. The endless right angles and bulky design make it very uncomfortable in the hand. In the world of fred, Barney and the gang from Bedrock that may be the way it gets done but, they can keep their casket shaped iPhone clones and I'll take curved glass any day. Besides, curved glass looks far more premium. I would also take issue with your assessment of the OnePlus is cameras. Hasselblad color science is the finest in the world. In addition, there was recently an update to the cameras that enhanced many of the features and added a pro mode.

I miss the good old PhoneArena aseptic reviews. Everything nowadays is a Marques Brownlee wannabe. While I find Preslav perfectly funny and videos have high production values, PhoneArena is probably the all-time classic RU-vid phone video reviews channel and I would like to see the original format back.

Well, thank you for the acknowledgments. I do wish to point out that we still do raw battery comparisons and camera comparisons on the regular. Are you missing something in particular, or are you more interested in "geek dive style" versus the more "casual style"?

@@PressKpa Videos from back in the day: straight to the point analysis of the design, camera, build quality and interface, were great. I kinda like the modern GSMArena take on that kind of reviews, a bit stylistic but still aseptic, short and informative. Not a big fan of humor/sarcastic reviews, tbh.

I truly don't think there's $500 worth of difference considering the ram is higher on the OnePlus. Even with the camera being better on the Samsung. I don't think it's that much better for normal people

Great review. Please ignore the negativity. If people want reviews painted by numbers, there are those out there. At least you are doing a different take, and it is always worth ten minutes of my time. Thanks! As for this comparison, pros and cons! Samsung fans are generally locked in, so the Ultra will be a de facto choice even if the OP12 has 95% of the ability of the Ultra at 66% of the price. For those wanting a premium device not affiliated with a brand, OnePlus is the value choice by a big margin.

Apart from this videos being sponsored by oneplus. I have used both phones - oneplus 12 is better in almost all ways except for video recording and some very selected photography scenes. OP is better is almost every way in software as well. Its not just a cheaper phone its a slightly better phone too.

Better in software? Let me seriously doubt : Health monitor, Dex, Smarthings, better software support, better software policies. I know, it's difficult for you but there is Samsung and there are the others.

@@rastaman971Some of us don't want all that crap. It's just useless bloatware that takes up storage and slows the phone down. Oxygen OS comes with an extremely minimal amount of bloatware and almost all of it is user removable and for me that's a big plus

I would describe the S24 Ultra as overpriced. Its not a bad phone by any means but its also NOT worth twice the price of the OnePlus 12. Honestly if you are in the under $1000 budget there is NOTHING that beats the OnePlus 12

The Samsung is terrible this year. I wouldn't buy a OnePlus as I'm an Oppo man, but imo the OnePlus 12 is far better value than the Samsung.

Of course, you do realize that oppo and OnePlus are sister companies? I love oppo phones but, they're only available and will function in certain parts of the world.

@@dr.fitprofessor4363 yeah I have been gutted. I have the Oppo x5 Pro. I'm due an upgrade and I'm considering ordering from China and messing around with it until it works for me haha. Oneplus is a brilliant phone, but the panel on the Oppo is the best I have ever seen.

@@AdamSmith-gs2dv in fact, OnePlus is not an Oppo. Oneplus, oppo, real me and vevo are under the same tech umbrella BBK electronics. There are four very different and unique brands all under the same parent company. They may share a few features with one another but, their brands remain separate.

Stvarno mi nije jasno na osnovu čega si došao do zaključka da s 24 ultra ima bolju kameru, nema bolju kameru bukvalno ni u jednu segment pa čak ni u zumiranju jer zna da pravi greške s24 ultra imam i jedan i drugi tako da mislim da nisi dobro odradio recenziju makar što se tiče kamera ovo drugo sve je OK pozdrav

I own both models :) all two great phones. The Oneplus has a nicer looking camera for my liking. On the other side samsung has more options and Im not sure if its an issue that could be solved with a reset but I feel like the s24 Ultra is smoother. It feels somehow snappier. On the other hand i love the curved edges of the oneplus. So both are great phones if you ask me :)

My mom is still using the Galaxy S8 plus which is 8 years old phone. I used that phone for the first three years and since then she has been using it. The only drawback of it is its fingerprint sensor size. Your logic must be only applicable on yourself. Maybe phones don't last in your hand!
