So guys I'm still using the OnePlus 6T in 2021 and now thanks to the last few updates, it's started to be fairly buggy and choppy. It's sad that Oxygen OS would be going away soon, and OnePlus wouldn't be the OnePlus I once bought it for. I still plan on using this device till it dies and then maybe would switch to a Pixel or the next iPhone (maybe the 14?).
Was really happy with this phone up until a month ago, got it in December 2018 and it's been great. But a month ago, it started freezing and I had to boot into recovery mode and clear cache, it was okay after this for about a week and then frozen again. Booted into recovery again, but it froze on boot screen in a boot cycle. Had to do a boot into recovery also and reset. However around a week later froze again and was stuck in a boot cycle. This required a complete reset of the whole phone and and delete of all data. Which I was not happy about, luckily due to the previous issues I'd backed up all my photos and data so this was okay but a pain. Then yesterday.... Some of my apps froze and kept crashing I decided to restart it. But it never came back on! and was completely dead! I tried all the soft and hard boot restarts and left it plugged in for all night over 12 hours but still dead. it's basically a brick at this point completely unresponsive! ... :( Was a great phone but this last month has been a nightmare. I'm on a 2 year warranty and it has 2 months left, so if I can get it back on gonna reset it to factory and remove all my data and sent it in. Hopefully this works if not I'm gonna have an expensive door stop. Really put me off this phone and android/oneplus in general, this was my first android phone and will be my last sticking to iphone now on! had a Iphone 3gs for 3 years, and a iphone 5s after that for 5 years and can't recall every really having issues with these. So ordered a iphone se 2020 hopefully this will last a while.
That last line is important and echoes my sentiment as well. Unless they improve upon camera setup, post processing as well as overall image quality and add to that the ever increasing price hike, I will look for other options. Currently my OnePlus 6 with Gcam mod (with the most stable version I found in years) is overall good except for video shooting but I want a good camera build in natively. OnePlus should really make this their top most priority with next release.
Same man. Totally feel you. From what I've seen and read about the 8 Pro, the Camera is improved, but definitely not as praiseworthy as the Pixel and iPhones.
@@SujoyShivde Yeah, agreed. It's the same situation with cameras as previous iterations. I really thought OnePlus will nail it this time but it's the same scenario again.
@@SujoyShivde The most recent one is the most stable I believe. You might have to give another try. Astrophotography works fine but it couldn't capture more details maybe because of the slightly old sensor.
November 6th when i got the package,i was actually the second one to book the device . And its 1 year 6 months . I used back cover and to prevent my mobile glass from getting scratch i used skin but now my back is cracked. Though i havent faced any major problems yet except when i was actually upgrading to android 10 . 10.3.0 i guess it was buggy then the bugs was solved .
Yeah, I got mine on 2nd November :). The skin doesn't protect from drops anyway and it depends on where we end up dropping it. For me the alert slider just doesn't work on Ringer :/
@@SujoyShivde and mine doesn't work on the silent part :'( Op6 5t has a better one . You can use stapler pins to clean the alert slider area. That helped me:-)
Hi! 6T has a far more superior everyday performance thanks to the Snapdragon 845 Vs the Snapdragon 730 in the Samsung. Oxygen OS on OnePlus is also way snappier than Samsung's skin. The only place where the Samsung holds an advantage is the Camera Versatility. The 6T doesn't have a Wide Angle or Macro camera while you can get more creative with the Samsung. Samsung might also perform better battery wise, but the 6T will always be way faster to use for gaming and general purpose also.
@@SujoyShivde except for the increment in battery capacity , the introduction of in display fingerprint scanner and the small notch , the camera were the same 16 mp ( main ) and the *useless* 20 mp ( depth )
I'm using the 6T 8/128 for about a year no complains except the camera though I'm not a camera person but when I do want to click a picture I see how mediocre the camera is. All in all it's a good package but I'm not gonna recommend anyone to buy 6T in 2020 anymore add a bit more money and go for a 7T or the lastest OP8 for future proofing
Sir I assume OnePlus 6T which you'd be getting will be old. So I think it's better to go with Note 9 Pro today since 6T is discontinued. But to answer your question, performance wise, 6T is still great and will outperform the Note 9 Pro in all domains except the camera.
Had a OnePlus 6T which was purchased in November of 2018. The phone, sorry OnePlus folks who love the phone, was a piece of crap. Encountered overheating issues, occasional freezing, Bluetooth earbud problems - went through cheap to expensive earbuds. The last straw was after upgrading to Android 10.3. Banking apps wouldn't work, Amazon Music, Apple or Google Play required me to restart when away from wifi. In the end, I took the phone one evening while walking - gloves and mask because of the Coronavirus and threw the craptacular phone to the ground. Was at a store and could not pay via banking apps Google Pay or other. Yeah, had reset to factory - which is an idiotic option in 2020 several times to no avail. In the end, I made curbside purchase on an iPhone 11 Max Pro and all problems associated with the OnePlus 6T went away. Actually, throwing the piece of sheet to the ground took care of the problems. I know my issues were isolated because a number of people I know encountered the same issues. People at the OnePlus Community talked about factory reset but come on, have had phones from Blackberry, Samsung, Nokia, LG, to Sony and never encountered any problems similar to the piece of sheet which was thrown in the street. What I found odd a out the phone is no matter which app I used - don't game, would receive using too much memory. Now, that would have been cool had I not been using a supposed 8 GB of RAM phone. Then there were random Bluetooth, location and other settings which requires babysitting to ensure they didn't just turn on. Never again with OnePlus. GTA - but cheap, buy twice.
I am planning to buy oneplus 8 pro, so whats ur opinion? Are oneplus devices good for long term usage?? Like i want a phone which cud easily take me for 3 - 3.5 yrs.. So r oneplus devices good for long term usage???
Hey, they're good for 2 years for sure. Beyond that, the company starts cutting down on updates. But if you're cool with that, then yeah, I think the 8 Pro is a good Long Term buy if you want an Android. Otherwise, get an iPhone. It's proven to last way longer and the frequent updates only inspire further confidence.
Agreed on Oxygen OS.. It's great and works all the time. I love the battery on this phone. I use a bulky Spigin case because I'm nervous I'll break it and I bought new in a flash sale for a great price. The screen is great as well and their first phone with OIS which is great, I don't think I'd have bought it if it didn't have a cam with it. Anyways awesome video ty for posting!
They fixed most issues at the begining he has with the new, phones. If you take a tooth pick you can fix the dust in the volume rocker which usually does the trick
Hey, yes they did improve the 7T to a great deal. Also, tried the tooth pick fix, and it did get dirt out, but the slider ia still fairly unresponsive. Thanks for the help!
Bro i want urgent reply I want to buy this phone in second hand market the deal is around 20k It's worth to buy or not in 2020 I'm buying this phone specially for pubg performance because i can't get this snapdragon processor in this budget And i never used the oneplus device but i heard i lot from youtubers about oneplus please reply as soon as possible please
Hey man, buying second hand will have its reliability risks. Sure, 6T is good for performance, but if you want to play PUBG, you can also think of the Poco F1. It's available brand new at about 16,000 or so. I think you should go for that. It has the same Snapdragon Chip
@@SujoyShivde so you mean poco f1 is better than 6t?? I'm so confused please give me at list one reason to buy poco f1 front of 6t Headphones jack and memory card slot i don't care about this please please answer me urgently because i want to buy smartphone tomorrow
The performance of both the phones when it comes to running heavy apps is very similar as they're both the EXACT same chipsets. So gaming performance will be identical on both. Poco is more durable as it didn't have a Glass Back. Sure, MIUI is not as good as OnePlus Oxygen OS, but you can customize it and even go the Custom ROM Way if you get bored. Cameras are also pretty neck to neck. And the reason I'd suggest F1 right now is that it's a New Phone to buy. 1 full year warranty. Second hand phones have their disadvantages.
I know i m too late to see this review but is it worth of buying oneplus 6t in 2020..?? I have never used any oneplus device before.. So is it worth..??
Performance wise, the performance is still very relevant in 2020. But OnePlus makes revisions to hardware every 6 months and by that logic, today the 7T is available at the same price the 6T starting being available at in 2018. So as a phone it's an excellent choice, but I wouldn't recommend it to you today as it's officially discontinued. The Poco F1 is still available at Rs. 15000 on Amazon and that is also a good deal, and you can try numerous custom ROMs on it with great effect
If the 7T is now offered at a lower price, definitely worth it to buy as now the OnePlus 8 is here. If prices have still not reduced, then please wait a little. 7T is overall a solid phone. Big improvement from Galaxy M30 when it comes to performance and speed
Are you getting a brand new piece? If it's new, then yes it's incredible performance for that price. But cameras on the Poco X2 etc have made bigger improvements wrt to the 6T. Performance wise, no doubt a beast
Is it(OnePlus 6T) worth to buy in 2020?In BANGLADESH, it's 32000 tk right now. Please brother, enlighten me with your valuable insight....I am SAGOR from BANGLADESH,
Hi friend. I just checked the currency rate. At nearly 32000 Taka, the 6T feels overpriced as the OnePlus 7 and 7T were launched at similar prices. Both 7 and 7T made improvements over the 6T at the same rate. So I recommend going for 7T. So, at 32000 taka, not worth it I think.
OnePlus 6T is great for PUBG. No worries at all. It's a Snapdragon 845 bro. One of the best Processors in the world. Phone is still super fast 2 years later. Just one con for gaming is it doesn't have Stereo Speaker which the 7 and 7T have. So I'd suggest go for 7 and 7T as price was also similar to 6T
Hi, check if your battery save mode is on when you're experiencing this. I had this issue a while back, I made sure to enable Google to have Background data Access from settings and haven't faced any issue lately. All apps keep updating. Also check the Play Store app and make sure AutoUpdate is ON.
@@SujoyShivde There is a serious issue going on I couldn't even give feedback to community Get me your email address or something I will share you screenshot
@@SujoyShivde Hey bro got it I haven't gave permission for download manager to access background data Such an idiot I am Sorry for bothering you bro thanks for the support. Now I'll be your new subscriber 🙏
Hi, the battery still manages a Screen Of Time of about 5.5 hours or so on a full charge. WiFi always on, RU-vid, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, and occasionally CoD.
Hello thanks for the video I just ordered the phone for 430$ with a one year warranty, and it was a sale in my country so Does it deserve to have with that price? I got 14 days to get refunded as I don't open the package. It will delivered to me very soon. P.S: the prices in my country are used to be high.. the phone gets 256 gb rom and 8gb for Ram. I am waiting for your answer.
Hey, if prices in your region are typically high, then I think $400 is slightly high, but still a decent price considering this will be a high performing phone for everyday usage. Just a word of caution, the camera on this one is nice and usable, but newer OnePlus cameras have gotten a lot better. Other than than, it's a good deal. Which other options do you have? And where are you from? Thanks. 😃
@@SujoyShivde Hello thanks for your reply.. I really appreciate it. I am from Egypt.. prices here are always high.. The phone that I have ordered is from souq.com which is an amazon company.. actually I was really confused and worried as it is a phone from about 2 years ago with just two back cameras and camera is not as much good as rivals.. I was really confused as it got SD 845 and 256 GB Rom 8 GB Ram for only 430 $ here is a good deal but I posted about it on fb many people told me it's an old flagship and you can buy raise the price for a better one but with no warranty so I filled a compliment asking the site to cancel it.
Hey, which is your present phone? 8 or 8T both will play PUBG great. The displays are good, with great gaming refresh rates, so gaming will be great on both. I've played PUBG on 6T and it's a beast. So the OnePlus 8 will be even better performance wise. Umm, not sure what all will change 8 Vs 8T whenever it comes. There's a good chance 8T might be delayed to 2021 considering Corona Outbreak globally. So, if you need a phone now, OnePlus 8 will be close to 40K at launch making it a good deal for you. The 8T will only have improvements to the camera and minor spec changes, but the Gaming Performance should not be all that different because the CPU and GPUs are flagship grade.
I classify myself as a very hardcore media user relying a lot on my phone for shooting videos, using 10-12 apps simultaneously in the background, and I'm still overall happy with the OnePlus 6T and won't be upgrading anytime soon. Depending on your usage, the 8 Pro has only following advantages for end users :- 1. IP rated design so it's more durable if you are careless with your phone in rains or in general, 2. Few cameras more for better versatility and perhaps slightly better camera performance 3. Wireless Charging but frankly it's more of a self visible luxury compared to a real convenience feature. I feel it's a lot to even pay 40K for a phone today as 70% of us users don't have much to gain with the Pro. Hope this helps :)
Hey! Yes I'm aware that we can Mask the notch with a horizontal Strip, but it greatly limits the way apps stretch besides the notched area. Also, we can't remove the notch ;) but can only mask it. It's a hardware limitation, but bet you knew that already :D
Hey, www.cyanogenmods.org/google-camera-gcam-apk-7-3-oneplus-6-6t/ here you will find a couple of GCam Apks for OnePlus 6T. Just download it and install it and try it out one at a time. I was trying a few of these last week and almost all of them were buggy. Do let me know what happens else I'll find something and share it to you personally

Bhai yeh long term review hai, things I like and those which aren't nice have been mentioned. Shaayad Aapne pura dekha nahi video. Full review with spec sheet already kiya hai 2 saal pehle, dekh lena :) and yes, I learn with every video and if I want to, I will try harder ;)
Hi. I think if you watch the video carefully you will notice that the pros are also cited along with the cons. Agar viewer thik se video nahi dekhega toh creator ki galti nahi hain. Secondly, it is a phone review. And for any aspect of a product or device to be reviewed, it needs to be placed next to another device of its kind to see which fares better. This offers the viewer an objective perspective. Since many viewers watch these videos to make a decision about which phone to purchase, it becomes all the more necessary for the creator to be transparent and honest in their opinions and criticisms.
